5 /5 Angela Gazzara: What a fine jewel of a parish! Beautiful church and altar, choir was fabulous. Passionate rector who genuinely cares about the involvement and growth of his parishioners which include many actively involved students from FSU, the future of our church and country.

1 /5 Catava Hill: I called this place in need of some holy water. The young man that answered the phone was very pleasant and tried to assist me. I was told I could get the holy water and I asked could I get 3 bottles because I was unsure how big the bottles were. A woman then proceeds to tell him to ask me what I needed with it. She then took the phone from him and asked me herself. She asked could I not get it from my church. I’m not Catholic. She said the priest would need to know what I needed it for. I told her for spiritual purposes! She said she would let the priest know so she could see if he was “ok” with me coming to get some. I’m not aware of anything negative that you can do with holy water. It wasn’t her business what I needed it for. Obviously the only use I know of is for anointing and cleansing so what other answer was she expecting?! I was told the priest was in a meeting and would call me back. Well it’s been about 4 hours, & oh yeah, they won’t answer the phone now. Such a devil! Nothing God like about whoever she is! I found two other churches that had absolutely NO problem letting me get holy water. So sad! Good Shepherd allowed me to come in with my own container and get holy water with no problem. When I first stopped by, a funeral was starting so there was no holy water out, but a very nice man told me to get my own container and try back. I did and someone was there and showed me where it was. This church needs people in the sanctuary like the ones that helped me at Good Shepherd & the other church I found. Whoever she is needs to be ashamed!

5 /5 Trevor Rios: I have gone to church here a couple of times while visiting my daughter at FSU. I like the music they do and the nice and traditional service that they provide. We normally go to the Sunday evening mass that is geared more toward the college crowd but even with that they keep it real and dont try to jazz it up too much. The music is contemporary but not out of control. The service is what you would expect at a Catholic church. The church architecture is nice as well. Old looking with traditional cathedral styling and somewhat unique strained glass window method for many of the windows.

5 /5 Alan S: A real strength of character in a parish here. For non-Catholics, a diocese is like a Catholic county, and a cathedral is the capitol building of that county, with the bishop as mayor (continuing with archbishop as governor of a larger state like area). Anyway, our diocese covers Pensacola-Tallahassee, so similarly we have a split capitol system, with Co-Cathedrals in each. As such this place is beautiful, the most classic looking interior of the churches in Tallahassee. Its an important place in terms of governance, but it also has a major function in ministering to college kids at FSU across the street. So it has this interesting blend of importance to the state *and* local community interests. Its pastoral efforts reach college students and adults and their small children alike. Most importantly, the priests and seminarians there all have great positive attitudes, welcome and worldly personalities open to literally anyone, and they seem genuinely enthusiastic about their faith. My only gripe is confessions generally run long and they only have one priest confessing at a time, get there early.
