4 /5 K DY: Its a great school, but you cant find too many facilities around.
5 /5 DQ Dogga: Great place to be, Good luck Emily
5 /5 Rafael Cruz: I love you, UCSC.
A beautiful campus integrated into the forest. What is not to love?
5 /5 Kevin Corse: A spectacular Campus location. Modern yet earthy. The smell of the trees and the temperate climate are enticing.
Shuttles are actually very well sorted and convenient.
Monsbey College - Watsonvillestephanie plane: I had an amazing experience at Monsbey College. I met a bunch of people with whom I hope to have lasting relationships with. I also had a great instructor who truly cares about her students and her patients. I learned more than I could have ever imagined! Thanks Monsbey College!
Gavilan College - GilroyLouis Torres: Great place all around. There are programs for all of your learning skills that need Extra attention. Never looked down on, no matter where you come from.
Cabrillo College - AptosNunya Beeswax: This is one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever been on. It is quite hilly and large too, with so many elevation changes that stairs and elevators are a way of life here. Student parking can be a bit far from class sometimes, since priority was given to foot/ bike travel when this place was built.
This community college has many program choices, focusing on STEAM, dental and nursing, with a budding horticulture program that is well worth a visit + a construction program that prepares students for estimating and project management. They run on a semester system.
One can simply achieve their standard Associates degree here, e.g. business, liberal arts, etc. or, go after one of the concentration programs. A visit with an academic counselor will help sort that out.
The cafeteria offers a few culinary options, such as an internal taqueria station, prepackaged sushi rolls and salads, fresh fruits, a salad bar and regular diner-style foods. There is an over priced cafe in the main quad area, with often sassy workers. Follow the sound of a playlist blasting from a Bluetooth speaker to find it.
The culture is very liberal, which can be supportive but exhausting when everyone needs to be a victim that needs to be heard. The campus resources are hit or miss; the NEST is almost worthless, the accessibility center is extremely helpful, the tutoring HUB is a grade-saver when some class subjects are difficult to grasp alone, the bike co-op is a nice idea but doesnt get a lot of use, the veteran support seemed a little lacking, EOPS is very helpful, Guardian Scholars is supportive. There is a daycare center onsite, so parents of little ones have no excuse. There are more, I just cant remember them all. The campus bookstore is recently shutdown, so now all textbook orders are handled online. Not sure I like that part.
Ultimately, this is a beautiful place to spend ones day learning and building long lasting skills, networks and friendships.
Western State University - San JoseFelex Tumwine: My recent graduation from Western State Universitys MBA Finance program equipped me with invaluable practical knowledge that will propel my career for years to come.
The programs focus on applied learning, evident in real-world case studies and financial modeling projects, solidified my understanding of key financial concepts.
My professors expertise in investment analysis was especially impactful, as his engaging lectures and personalized guidance helped me master crucial valuation techniques.
Beyond academics, Western States California location is strategically advantageous. Being close Silicon Valley opens doors to internships at leading tech companies in the world where one is able to get practical experience and also build valuable connections.
The universitys dedicated career services further supported my job search.
While the program was demanding, the state-of-the-art lecture rooms, exceptional faculty, and prime location fostered a stimulating and rewarding learning environment.
I highly recommend Western States MBA Finance program to aspiring professionals seeking a rigorous academic experience and a strong foundation for success in the ever-evolving field of Finance.
Shasta College - Reddingdeseree borden: Great school, great teachers. I was a miscreant as a teenager and very much opposed the institution of education, but Shasta, their staff, and their teachers, have helped me fall in love with being a student over the two years Ive been attending and completing prerequisites for the dental hygiene program. I wish I could get paid to be a student forever. Keep it up Shasta! Also the library is coming along beautifully and I love all the new landscaping upgrades that have recently been implemented. The on-campus Starbucks and the online ordering for said Starbucks, as well as online ordering of yummy cafeteria food is a huge bonus, too. The leaening resources and attitudes of all, make Shasta extremely conducive to learning. I believe this place runs like a well-oiled machine, and is a beautiful and stimulating environment!
Simpson University - ReddingRoy Smith: 1st. It is mandatory that you live on campus unless you’re over 24 years old, or are married. Get ready to spend $10,000 on that. Every semester.
2nd. Have an issue with your dorm life/situation? Too bad! You’ll just have to get over it :) I didn’t have a light in my bathroom for 2 weeks! (And maintenance filed that the light was fixed)
3rd. Do you have any possible questions about the financial aspects of the institution? Good thing no one on campus will answer them! In fact there is a student that answers the phones and I am nearly positive that they tell her her job is to inform the caller that no one is available. They are known to wrongfully up charge students, and even charge them for housing when they live off campus. The money is taken from your loans immediately but have fun trying to get it back!
