Bates Technical College - Tacoma Rod Vilic: I attended Bates in 2009 and earned my highschool diploma and an associates degree. Yesterday, I ran into an old friend who recently graduated from the welding program at Bates and now happens to work at the same company I am at. After catching up, he told me that he remembers me sharing my experience from Bates and how I told him I was struggling with math and almost did not graduate. He recalled that I told him one particular teacher mentored me, tutored me after class, and prepared me for the final math exam in which I passed because of her patience and relentless effort to support me and my learning challenges. He then shared of his experience and let me know that 15 years later, he had the same exact experience with that same exact teacher. I felt called to write this review because of the major impact this teacher has had on at least two people. I am so thankful for her help all these years later. If anyone gets the opportunity to attend this great school, you will be extremely pleased to have a class with Mary Ward.

Pierce College Health Education Center - Puyallup Erik H.: Gyms/HEC closed early every time I come to campus. With no end insight. Theres a paper note on the door sayin they close at 2pm now. That signs been up for 2 weeks. The hours online still say open till 6pm. Nobody in HEC answers the phone here nor do they answer it at the Lakewood campus. know one seems to know whats goin on. You cant get anyone on the phone Some staff on campus are not aware the HEC exists. A staff member said she thinks the HEC is on the other campus. Incorrect. They are at both campuses. Very frustrating the lack of responsibility and communication to the students.

Pierce College Puyallup - Puyallup Shelly Orr: You can NEVER get a hold of anyone! You can only get an appointment if you take the day off and go into the campus in person. When you do get appointments, they call and cancel the appointment. Then, you have to repeat the process all over again! Also, their webpage sucks because you have to log into three different pages to access your canvas and a significant portion of the computer science classes are taught online using books you have to pay for but don’t get to keep. This school is a joke!

Pierce College Fort Steilacoom - Lakewood Mags Kal: The leadership at Pierce College is severely lacking across the board. Academic advising is notably subpar. Many professors struggle with effective teaching and show little enthusiasm for their roles, which likely stems from weak institutional leadership. In one instance, a professor even manually lowered my final grade from a B+ to near failing at the end of the quarter. Due to ongoing mistreatment across several areas, I’ve contacted an attorney to explore my options. The college urgently needs a comprehensive overhaul from top to bottom.

Pierce College Financial Aid - Puyallup Ashlynn Jones: i’ve emailed them twice, tried calling a few times and no one responds. the only way to get an answer is through zoom on tuesdays. so if you’re not available for that, there’s no way to contact them

Oregon State University - Corvallis Rene: Rec center is awesome. Athletic programs are reasonably priced. Campus is wide open and easy to manage. Student store is nice too
