Quick Tune & Brake - Hayward (CA)

R C069 Ive been taking my cars to Ken for a few years now. I feel like he always takes care of us without charging extra for unnecessary services. We have two aging cars with 200k plus miles on each. Both needed significant work this year. He not only did a great job but he cleaned both engines so they look brand new (a totally unexpected but terrific service). The pic below is from my 2013 Accord that has 200k miles on it.

The mechanic is very good old gentleman and he is on this business over 20 years. He asked me the problem of the vehicle and i explained everything. I thought it would take more hours than other shops said but he fixed so quick and price was pretty good. I will recommend this shop to my friends and relatives. Thomas Cassio Let me start by saying, I’m as far as you could possibly be from California. I’m in South Florida, and I needed a pre-purchase inspection on a super niche car. Chris answered at the crack of dawn, scheduled a time to go out, and poured over every inch of that car. Not a single ding or scratch was missed, and he gave me a lot of real valuable insight as to how the car was overall. You probably think I paid an arm and a leg for such a great experience. I pay less to take my wife to dinner sometimes. If I EVER need mechanical help in California again, I know who I’m calling.

Francisco Maldonado 5 stars from the start. I called around 11am requesting a quote for an oil change. Carlos got back to me with a quote right away breaking down the cost. I was so impressed by the transparency that I decided to make an appointment. Carlos took care of me from the start and made me feel like a valued customer. I will recommend this local gem to all my Hayward folks. It is hard to trust some auto shops but this one is different. Please give Carlos a call if you need any auto work done.

Charles Ehrlich Mark and Carlen are gems. I purchased (perhaps in a fit of self-delusion) a 1999 Bentley Arnage. It’s a beautiful car but it’s quirky. Warning lights flash often and mysteriously. Mark knows these vehicles inside and out (unlike the folks at the dealership who have limited interest in the older cars). Carlen handles the office with professionalism and kindness. Unlike a good restaurant, Acme is a business that I would prefer not to need (!) but I’m very fortunate that they are here.

James Lignell I took my car in yesterday because the check engine light came on and it was making some strange noises. They were able to take it in right away and start checking out. By the middle of the day I had an estimate and an explanation of the issues. I originally wasnt sure what issues were priority so I called and we talked through the invoice and he explained that if I could only get some of the services now, which ones were the most important and which ones could wait a little bit. I appreciated that I didnt feel like I was just being upsold on services and he was really looking to help me out. I decided to just get all of the services done and they were able to get the car back to me in one day. When I picked it up today he was very thorough in showing me what he fixed and changed. He even showed me a video of them changing out some of the parts which I thought was really cool. Ive definitely gotten my car back from other shops before and wondered if they really actually did anything. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be bringing my car back here.

Wendy Crow I can not tell you about costs because I do not know going rates. I can tell you I am absolutely ignorant about cars. This business could have done extra and unnessary repairs as part of maintenance because I wanted a full workup. They told me it was unnecessary. I thought my brakes needed to be replaced, and they said they were not needed yet. Recently, my drivers side power window stopped working. They spent time getting it back up and didnt charge me.
