5 /5 Ryan Prescott: I came here for the first time in 2018 when I was helping aid the first responders during the Carr Fire and then the Camp Fire (that burned down a very large chunk of Paradise). This was the hub for various disaster relief groups and organizations, I was part of one of the groups.
This church assisted in aiding the first responders and I know they continue to do this. I saw it with my own eyes and worked with the people there.
There are also the services they provide. The services we were introduced to for the disaster relief were effective in helping people through sadness, fear, anxiety, and total devastating grief.
There was a lady that was crying in the parking lot after having gotten the news that her house was burned down and that she had lost everything. One of their members went to the lady and started talking her through it, giving her one of these techniques they were teaching us, and the lady smiled for the first time in a while (from her own words).
I was surprised and so were the others there to help. So, this church in Chico is here to help people - I have seen it with my own eyes and I have experienced it. I would recommend this place.
