3 /5 Mary P: Visited today..August 15th. I havent been here in several years since I sold my house in Nevada City. I went to the deli area because they used to make great tuna salad. The lady said I would have to wait 20 minutes until they make it. I passed on that. I then asked for just a cup of coffee and she said she would have to make another pot..5 to 10 .minutes . So I passed on that. Nobody else in line for the deli. Such a disappointment...unfortunately nothing like it used to be. I noticed suishi in the raw has taken over the dining area which opens at 430pm. Hopefully this will help this business. I will stick to the newer organic grocery store in Grass Valley in the meantime and hope they can do better because i have great memories of this place! .

5 /5 Richard Podnar: The cafe is a true gem in this wonderful little Northern California town which is my favorite getaway place. I always love discovering new places just when I thought all possibilities have been exhausted. The menu offerings are so original, the ingredients so fresh and the portions so generous, how can such a combination be surpassed? By the friendly service and smiles all around, thats how! Highly recommended for a healthy meal and a hospitable welcome.

5 /5 Kristin Smith: Ive been shopping here since I moved to the area over a year ago, but have never eaten at the restaurant. Ive gotten grab and go sandwiches and deli items; they are always tasty and fresh. We ate at the restaurant and got a burger and fries and a club sandwich with gluten free bread. They have a ton of GF options, just about everything on the menu. The meat is absolutely delicious, really high quality, and the fries are indeed fresh! Service was friendly and efficient. I honestly feel like for the quality-to-price value, you cant beat it. Im sorry I didnt eat here earlier but I definitely will again!

They still have a couple of good employees, but the overall quality of the produce and personnel has declined, and the older woman with the glasses always seems bitter and unhappy about being there. Edited For Context: Those of you who look at the older reviews will see responses from the owner, Chris. Chris Kysar died and the business, which was already facing challenges, due to the pandemic; was completely capsized by the new owners and lesser quality of care and management. That’s why the owners appear completely unconcerned with and indifferent to, the quality and reputation of this business and the experiences of its customers and community. Because they are. They didn’t build this or even add to it. It’s just property to them and broader profit margins matter more than community and substance. Why even bother? I can get the same imported produce, pretense and crappy attitude at Briar Patch for marginally less money.

5 /5 Kelly Hanner: Really happy we have something like Cali O in town. My partner and I go here often to grab a bite to eat. We love their burgers- from the black and blue, to the portobello burger to the kale salad, curry coleslaw, curry fries, chicken wings... it’s all so good & made with quality ingredients. The staff is super nice too.
