1 /5 Geno: What I thought would be a quick trip to get my new Rolex sized, instead turned out to be whole waste of my Friday. I first called John Friday morning to see if he was open, since Thursday was thanksgivings. I asked John if he had time to size my Rolex. He first hesitated then said that hes busy but then said to come in anyways. That should had been my red flag but with his good reviews I went against my wifes intuition.
When I arrived, I gave him my watch and he quickly removed one the links. The watch felt good to me but John wasnt happy with the way it looked on me and suggested removing one more link to better fit me. While he was removing the link I asked him if he could also adjust the EasyLink to the watch band. Thats where the problems began. While adjusting the EasyLink, the band came apart, 2 very small glide locks came off the Easylink. He tried and tried to put it together again but he couldnt. He then went to another room and I guess he wanted to be left alone and concentrate on what he was doing. About 15 minutes or so he asked if I can leave his store and go for some coffee and come back. I told him that wasnt going to happened nor did I feel comfortable leaving his store without my Rolex. I reminded him, I was just there to get my watch sized and I didnt understand why it was becoming so complicated for him to do. He very rudely said, "dude, "its a Rolex" its not an easy watch to size. He made it seem somehow that his mistakes was the watches fault. He kept insisting for me to leave the store, about 5 times. At this point I demanded my watch back! I was very firm with him. I understand that he didnt want me to leave his store not happy, but he was being very rude about it. At this point me and my wife didnt feel comfortable with his services anymore and again I demanded my watch to be returned at once!
We then decided to go to Heller Jewelrys in San Ramon. They are a AD of Rolex watches. When I showed them how I left Johns store they couldnt believe what he had done to watch. They said it usually takes 10 minutes or less to size a Rolex watch and the Easylink should have never been pulled about they way it was. Since John removed the glide locks it most likely will cost me more then just getting my watch sized from them. I had to leave my watch with them so that their repair guy can fix it on Tuesday. My watch had to be put on queue. I should had come to Heller Jewelry’s to begin with but live and learn I guess.
