Tracy McGeagh Fiona is a master at everything hair - from color to highlights to cut to blow dry. She transformed my color after Madison Reed (the color bar) ruined it - she is also incredibly fast and finishes blow drys in 30-45 minutes and cut and color in 1.5 hours - I highly recommend Fiona of Blow Hair Dry Plus!

Janet Guyette Fiona is an expert hair colorist. She understands how to achieve a natural look and spends the time needed to create it. I highly recommend her.

Ivana Barbir Fiona did a fantastic job. She was efficient and precise at the same time. Will come back.

Customer Service I love my hair and the experience was fabulous! Fiona really took the time to understand what I wanted and the color I wanted. I received professional services at a reasonable cost. The services I received include a hair cut, color and highlights and a blow dry. I was very pleased with the end result and had felt very confident walking out of her salon!

My hair has never been this smooth, sleek, and frizz-free! Irene took the time to thoroughly explain the process and made sure I was comfortable throughout and took a lot of care on maintaining the integrity of my hair. She is not only skilled but also incredibly friendly and professional. I’m pleased with the results—my hair looks healthier and has been so much more manageable. Megan Kenney Kristina is AMAZING. She took all the brassiness out of my hair and gave me the most beautiful brown color (partial highlights)! I forgot to take a before photo but you can see the orange brassiness in the photo taken at the dodger game... I also got a great haircut from Michael! I wont go anywhere else, I am so so happy with the results!

Monica Smallshaw I had a hectic day and was late to my dry bar appointment. Walked down the street and asked if they could last minute do my hair for a 60s themed party. Irene did a phenomenal job in an hour and was so kind and made me feel relaxed on a busy day. The service and vibes were 20/10!!

Tatiana Froehlich I had an amazing first experience here! I have type 3 curls, and it was my first time getting a haircut from a curly hair specialist. Madison is the stylist who I was assigned to, and she did a phenomenal job handling all my questions, teaching me all about curls, and about how to care for and style them. She also listened to my vision extremely well, while recommending certain shifts based on her knowledge & experience of curl type and face shape etc. I feel that she executed on the vision we agreed on extremely well, and also trimmed a little extra after styling after I asked for a tweak. The overall salon feel was very positive overall as well. Good vibes from everyone I interacted with. Highly recommend. It felt very worth the price!

Melissa P I had to review my disappointing haircut and stylist. I came in for a consultation and it seemed like Grace heard what I wanted. She explained what I wanted correctly after describing what I was looking for, particularly with my bangs. I had to come in a second time because only after 2 weeks, my hair felt fully grown out and lost the structure. When I came in the second time, again I explained what was happening and again emphasized the style, length and thickness of how I wanted my bangs, more specifically. I had grown it out for months and she knew I was growing it out. NOW, my bangs are effing short (shorter than when I came in the first and second time). It has no movement and its much more thicker, wider and has no structure to it. What made it thicker is she added more bangs higher back. I told her I wanted my ends to be wispier. How does it end up shorter and thicker??!! Now I have to start over which will take months again. When I seek out a new stylist or any, I explain what I want AND I show them pictures which I did with Grace. Now, Im left with opposite of what I thought she understood and what I wanted. I sent her message and no response. Pics are before and after of bangs.

Trinity Brought It was my first time cutting my hair very short. And let me tell ya, it turned out better than I expected. My hairstylist, Lesley, cut my hair and did a fantastic job. She is also the sweetest women ever. My boyfriend and I enjoyed her company and had a blast with her. She is very dedicated to her job, and I could see it in my haircut. Lesley made me confident in myself and I am thankful to her. I will definitely be becoming back in the near future to get my hair cut again.

Areli Orozco The service especially on a Sunday morning!!! oooof girl you are getting the whole package!!! Bomb cut and style ✨✨✨✨✨with a good as meditative nap especially for my momma toddlers out there, it felt like i was resting but i was conscious, meditation at its finest !! All im saying this is the perfect Sunday morning TLC . But it gets better, it’s almost a week and my curls definition and volume are flourishing, They really embrace how well the stylist took care of my hair. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Tyara Clayton New location, same great salon. I’m so glad Madison moved to the new spot because she’s my go-to for a curly cut. She helped get my very fine hair to a healthy state & gives me tips to avoid knots. The new spot is also super cute with massaging shampoo chairs & an amazingly quick dryer.

Eve Tilley-Coulson I’ve been going to Anya for years for highlights, but recently decided to go back to my natural hair color (brunette). I was nervous to do so but Anya did an amazing job and I absolutely love it. Her salon is calm and relaxing and she makes the entire experience feel tailored to you and your hair.

lucas griggs Anya is incredible! After growing my hair out for almost 5 years, she was the first to cut it. And it’s been her for the last several years. Sadly, I’m relocating to NY. But I’m considering flying back literally just to keep my hairs in order. She truly has an incredible touch. I only get cuts from her, but I know a lot of her other clients and if I had any interest in color and extensions, she would be my only choice in LA.

Larry Cruz My wife and I just love this little salon gem in Santa Monica. Its a nice private experience and Anyas attention to detail with color is superb. Shes very knowledgeable with color. We get the Ammonia free color service. Cant say enough good things.

Rupali Vohra Anya is nice, but I didnt like the balayage that I received. The first two images are the colors I asked for (in an ombre), and the rest are the color I received (after two washes). It was much lighter on her first attempt, and this is after an attempted fix. The color is also inconsistent in the layers of my hair - some of the pieces are much more orange and lighter. Overall, I liked my haircut, but not the color. I probably wouldnt recommend Anya for brunette balayage, unless youre trying to go blonde. We also ran out of time, so I wasnt able to get my hair blown out at the end of the appointment. She did give me a $50 refund for that. I will be spending another several hundred dollars trying to get this fixed from someone else.

Natalie Paziotopoulos I can’t recommend Anya at Aiya Hair Salon in Santa Monica enough! Not only is she absolutely beautiful inside and out, but her salon is such a warm and inviting space. You feel like you’re visiting a close friend in the comfort of her home. Anya uses the most natural, hydrating products that have worked wonders for my hair. Her talent with color, cuts, and blowouts is unmatched—I always leave feeling my absolute best! On top of her skill, Anya is sweet, kind, and turns every appointment into a relaxing escape. Truly the best hairstylist and salon experience!

Speedster2707 I was recommended to Hair Designers Studio by a friend. When I had my first (mens) haircut I had no idea that I would be making another friend. Fahema has been cutting my hair for 10 years now. I am always greeted by a warm smile and a hug and I feel like Im treated like family there. Her attention to detail is second to none. She has been cutting hair for over 50 years and definitely knows how to do it. If youre even thinking about this place, just do it. Its a no-brainer.

Shahbano Imran Fahimeh is a true expert! She did a last minute updo for me for a wedding, and it was gorgeous. Also gave some great hair care tips. I only wish I lived in LA and could get my hair cut with her as well. Highly recommend.

Azize Sahin I’m new to the area and have been on the prowl for a good salon. I stumbled upon Hair Designer’s studio during a google search after an unfortunate haircut at a local chain salon. I decided to book a haircut with Fahimeh after reading the great reviews. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming energy. Fahimeh is delightful! She loves what she does and enjoys bringing joy to people. All of her years of experience really show. She is warm, courteous, and professional. She was meticulous with my haircut and made helpful recommendations without being pushy. I felt she had a vision for me and was genuinely excited to help me look my best. I was so impressed with the quality of my hair cut that day, I came back the following day for additional services (keratin treatment) and will be back for eyebrows and a facial.

Christy Chen Such a good hair appointment not only did a get exactly what I wanted, also had some of my best conversations in hair salons. She’s so so nice, and knows exactly what she’s doing. Fleur Van Rosmalen I am travelling from the Netherlands and wanted to get my hair done in time for my birthday this Saturday! Adriana helped me and made more time for me so I could Color my hair aswell as cut it. She professionally looked at my hair to decide what would be best for the Color that I was looking for and she absolutely nailed it! Isabel VA Got my hair colored by Herminia and Emmanuel at this salon last week and it was such an amazing experience! Everyone was so welcoming and kind. When you get color done it can be a lengthy process, but the time honestly flew by! Im absolutely OBSESSED with the results. My hair texture wasnt compromised which was important to me! Latifah I had the BEST experience at Zaine Colour Salon! I was in town and was in need of a blowout so I popped into Zaine without looking them up prior and they were able to accommodate me on the spot. I really lucked out finding this gem of a salon. Emmanuel was my stylist and I can’t express enough how talented he is. He gave me one of the best blowouts I’ve ever had. I’ve had a few blowouts since and nothing compares to Emmanuel’s phenomenal work. I can’t wait to return for more services, it’s my new favorite salon in Los Angeles!

Will Power So I bought my wife a cut and color off Groupon so she could get her hair professionally done. Im not exaggerating when I mean "professional" either. We were in the market to find my wife a hair salon that she would enjoy and look forward to going to being that we just recently moved to the LA area. After reading the reviews of this hair salon, we decided to give it a try. Im happy that we did. She was looking for a hair salon that valued her opinion, voiced their concerns on whats best for what shes looking for, and above all, a friendly atmosphere where she felt welcomed and treated with the upmost respect and not like just "another customer." While patiently waiting and sitting in the hair chair for several hours with a bad knee, she hasnt stopped talking about the FANTASTIC service and accommodations that this salon and her hair stylist provided to her throughout the lengthy process. She was extremely pleased that the stylist was understanding and allowed her to stand up and stretch out her bad knee throughout the whole process without showing or giving any negative attitude or poor customer service due to her temporary physical disability with her knee. She mentioned to me that during her coloring and her hair cut that her stylist shared and showed her current progress to her fellow coworkers throughout the appointment. That to me not only shows the stylists best interest for her customer but also being a team player and being open to hear her other coworkers questions, comments, and concerns (not saying she needed them), but it was nice of her to have done so. My wife is EXTREMELY pleased and VERY thrilled to have her hair done by SHAWN and is looking forward to her next appointment. I tip my hat off to Shawn. Thank you for taking excellent care of my wife and putting a smile back on her face!! :)

August Yadon I come here every time I get my hair cut. Linda always cuts it perfectly and checks in to make sure its how I want it during the cut. I think they dont advertise mens cuts heavily but theyre great at short cuts.

Joanne Vega Brambila Salon is the BEST salon in LA. Mary is incredible with color and cut! Truly the best stylist I’ve ever had. 20/10 would recommend! Cara DeAngelis Maurice was so attentive to my requests and questions on how to even out my jaw-length bob. He knew what I was looking for and took time and great care in getting the haircut to where it needed to be with the pre-existing quirks my hair has as certain areas are growing out. He’s also genuinely enjoyable to be around and puts his customers at great ease.

Heather Wallander I used to NEVER leave the house with my hair wet, because I couldn’t trust it would look good when it dried. In fact 99% of the time, if I didn’t have time to style it I had it up in a bun / ponytail. BUT For the last month+ I leave the house with my hair wet ALL THE TIME. It has been a game changer for me when it comes to getting ready and especially when I’m running late. Maurice was fantastic. I went in for a Brazilian blowout, but he tested my hair to see what worked better and recommended the keratin treatment. My hair is smoother and healthier than it’s ever looked. I’ve attached a before (I really had to dig to find one since I rarely went out with it having dried on its own) and after. The after picture is with no styling and is just how it dried. It’s not perfect, but Maurice had set the expectation it wouldn’t be, but that my hair would be much better. I absolutely love it and will definitely be back at the 3 month mark.

Casey McKinnon Ive been getting my hair cut here for about 5 years and have always had a good experience. Im a very picky customer and Vanessa always listens to me and never cuts off more than I ask. She always finds the best way to shape my hair and bring it to life. Recently I decided to try a new hair color, so I started doing a lot of research to find the best place for me. I read horror stories of other salons on Yelp, so I decided to give Salon Viva a chance. Vanessa gave me a free consultation and I decided to give her a shot. I brought in photos of what I wanted and she did her best to help me get the color I wanted. Im very happy with her work and dedication. In addition to all this, the price is competitive and they do not charge extra to dry and style your hair, which I appreciate.

Vero Sweethobby I was very lucky to find Vanessa about 4 years ago while looking for a hairstylist who could fix the mess I had in my hair done by some other places. I was surprised to see how many amazing 5 star reviews she had on Yelp so I took a chance and got my appointment. My hair was in really bad shape and she was so careful and knowledgeable, she did an amazing job. Lena T Annika is the first person in the states that Ive ever trusted with my natural (3b/c) hair, and the first person anywhere to ever color it, other than myself. And I couldnt be happier with my results! I never write long reviews, but this feels warranted. Backstory: Ive been highlighting my own hair sporadically since 2020. Recently, though, I got a bit too careless with my technique, which resulted in some serious banding and brassiness. Unfortunately, I dont have any "before" pictures because I couldnt bear to look at it, let alone capture it on camera. But to visualize, the banding was so bad that in some parts it almost looked like leopard print. Needless to say, it was absolutely nowhere near the slightly chunky balayage I had in mind. & I knew I needed professional help. Back to the review: Annika was very knowledgable during our consultation, and I felt so safe putting the fate of my hair in her hands. She explained everything we would do with full honesty, telling me what styles would and wouldnt work for my hair. After the actual appointment, I can tell you one thing for certain, she KNOWS what shes doing. My tragic DIY "highlights" are now completely unrecognizable, and I finally feel confident wearing my hair out without needing to style it just to hide the banding. Plus, my hair still feels healthy and strong. Shortly after my appointment, I went out to run errands and ended up garnering compliments on my hair color at almost every place I stopped — which, was a fun bonus to the overall great experience I had that day& also a testament to the quality of Annikas work. I do know that shes incredibly skilled with a variety of hair textures, but I especially want to highlight this for my fellow curly hair folks. Debbie C One of my highlights of 2024 was having the pleasure to have been a client at AHHA Hair. I feel so fortunate to have met Annika and her daughter Arianna. They exceeded my expectations in every way. First of all, the hair expertise and experience is obvious. They know what they are doing, and their talent shines through. I would feel comfortable going to them for any hair scenario, i.e., color, cut, detangling, styling, etc. I’m confident that they can handle even the most challenging hair with ease. Simply put, they are pros. But beyond that, they are good people. They are kind, likable, funny and make you feel so comfortable from the moment you sit down in their chair.
