4 /5 SaneNoMore: Sun Valley Church is fairly traditional, overtly Calvinistic, but friendly place. They often sing the older hymns and don’t use overly flashy lights, screens or instrumentations. Coffee is provided in the entryway and there are classes available for all ages. Sun Valley was originally founded by West Side Baptist Church but is quite different in service styles. Doctrinally they seem to lean Reformed Baptist with an emphasis on Calvin and the puritans but I did not ask about eschatology or secondary issues while there. I found the people and leadership to be open and friendly and someone always stopped to talk to me during the several weeks I attended. The preaching was scripture based and exegetical and if my memory is correct they were using the ESV translation. I removed 1 star because I support a traditional/historic soteriology and they are very strong Calvinists.
