St. James Cathedral - Seattle (WA)

5 /5 Alex Matheson: It was a pleasure visiting St. James Cathedral in Seattle. It is especially beautiful with the spring explosion of flowering trees! This Cathedral was built 1905-07 in the renaissance revival architectural style. The central gnome collapsed in 1916 due to heavy snow, and was replaced with a flat roof featuring a skylight. Renovated in 1950 and 1994, this cathedral is clearly well maintained and cared for. It is rightfully designated as a city landmark and is well worth a visit if you get the chance. This beautiful cathedral is well-known for its community outreach and the services it provides for those in need. Entrance is free, there is plenty of paid parking in the area, and there is no public access to the towers.

5 /5 Jeff Pizanti: Catholic cathedral near the Archdiocese bldg. My first visit to the cathedral was for an ordination mass the Sat before Pentacost. I attended with a large group (16 people in 4 cars) from our home parish (an hour away). We parked at Mother Cabrini Medical Tower. Mass was beautiful & if I lived closer, would happily attend there regularly. Peace be with you!

5 /5 Nights Bella (Bella): This is the location of the Archdiocese of Seattle. Parking is an expensive pain, but the cathedral (built in 1907 & minus one dome due to a terrible weather storm about 1912) is breathtaking and provides a sense of peace Ive only felt in a few places. They have real prayer candles along the wall. Contributing is recommended but not asked for nor monitored; use your discretion. I had an issue finding the original candle but I carry a lucky zipper. The side patios to the cape & book store have an amazing water feature. In short, Ill be back for Sunday mass next time Im in Seattle!

The architecture is breathtaking, with intricate details and soaring ceilings that create an atmosphere of elegance and reverence. The natural light that floods the space enhances its beauty, making it the perfect backdrop for a wedding. The staff has been incredibly accommodating, ensuring that every detail is taken care of. I can’t wait to see this beautiful space come to life during the ceremony. Highly recommend St. James Cathedral for anyone looking for a truly magnificent venue!
