2 /5 Taylor Overturf: This was honestly the worst nail appointment I ever had. To preface Im used to nail techs commenting on my shorter nails because I have a habit of biting them. Im also used to nail techs wanting me to either change the nail design or shape to match the nail design. I also went in with my mom at the same time.
I went in for an appointment and showed my nail design and was told that I could get that done no problem. Went to the chair with the nail tech and was then immediated badgered about my natural nails and how short they were and how I bite them and how the nail tech didnt like my my ugly nails and how my moms were so beautiful. This was multiple times over the course of my nail appointment.
Then my nail tech told me that square would look better ( the design I had was for an almond or round shape - and a shap I prefer as i have chubby fingers and i feel makes them look better instead of giving a claw look) i politely said no I want round. My nail tech was a little upset and continued filling the acrylic in a square shape then had to hand file to round. In the middle of it she still commented about how square is better.
After my nails were cured and filed. She told me she couldnt do my design. I looked through my phone at my other designs I resllt lived and knew she wouldnt do them either so I settled on a different more simpler one ( a French manicure but with a small detail line essentially outlining the French tip). My nail tech looked for the colors couldnt find them so I settled on green like in the photo I showed her. She got the colors and then told me she was going to grab something - I think it was a fan? She then leaves me and starts doing another customer that had just come in pedicure.
I then switch chairs to the nail tech and owner to finish my nails.
Where then she comments about how I bite my nails and they were short.
At this point Im trying not to cry because throughout this whole appointment I had been disappointed and berated about my natural nails compared to my moms long nails.
There wasnt any real effort put in to the nail design I ended up settling on its very uneven, and looks like I practically tried painting them myself. There I bumps all over, my nails are shorter on than the other of the same finger. The lines are crooked and over flowing in some spots.
I just would have figured for the 3rd day of being open it would have been more pleasant, for nail techs I figured they wouldve been more practiced. It really sets the tone for the business.
What really sucks is so many other women were talking about how they loved their nails and their experience , so I dont understand why I received a completely different one. I dont demand absolute perfection but for the $60 nails I paid for and the almost 3 hours i was there...it definitely was not worth it.
