1 /5 Maddox McEvoy: I have being doing research on my my fathers side of the family. My great grandmother was a member of this church. So after locating the property where my great grandparents lived and going and visiting the their graves I wanted to go the church she once went to in hopes of reading from my bible where my grandmother once did.
It was unequivocally the rudest most unkind experience I’ve ever had with any church. I pushed the buzzer. I told the lady I’d like to speak with someone in the office if I could please. What do you need? I don’t remember the exact words but was told to wait. A few minutes later a man comes and opens the door.. No smile, nothing.. I told the man was I was doing and was honoring my ancestors and so forth.. The body language was so unfriendly as well. I’d love to just see where my great grandmother went to church I was hoping to read a verse or 2 and I’d be on my way.. He paused- it’s not open. The manner in which this all took place was the exact opposite of what the church is to embody. I got back in my car and drove away.
I never leave negative comments because I know so many only do that but this experience makes my heart sad, still.
