1 /5 Lisa Franke: The Hartford is the worst experience I have ever had with a business. They put so little effort into my case and didnt talk to my doctors, strung me along for literally months while I had no income, and continued to deny me coverage for pathetic reasons that were at odds with everything my medical team said. I had even jumped through all of their hoops. They told me things and then claimed they never said them. Id leave voicemails they seemingly didnt listen to. I got bounced between probably three different agents. Honestly, dealing with the Hartford was probably the worst part of HAVING CANCER. DO NOT USE THE HARTFORD. NO MATTER WHAT. ITS NOT WORTH IT. Now I just hope I dont end up losing my house. Thanks, guys.

Earnhardt: this company is awful. they have been repeatedly difficult, impossible to get a hold of, at all, and if u have/need an accommodation, they will not ever give you a copy of what you are approved for. Ever. After multiple attempts to receive such information. Just that u are "approved" good luck hope you dont break any of what we just approved you for, guess! They deny your claim? All you get is a letter at 11pm at night saying - claim denied. Why? You dont get to know any specifics. You call and try and get to the customer service dept to ask why? No one knows, youre on hold and transferred to 4 seperate people, and then you are likely lied to about 10 different information pieces on your claim. Bc when u call again to ask the same question, this new rep will give you a totally opposite answer to your request. Claim has an assigned rep? you will never ever speak to that person once, and you dont get to know their contact information. Ever. I will never ever ever work with the hartford willingly til I die. If my job works with the hartford, ill never apply. I hate that my job now uses them. They are killing me, genuinely, with the stress they have caused me, while i was trying to submit disability and medical emergency leaves. This insurance company doesnt care about the human being (ME) ever or at all. stay away and beware, and shame on you Hartford.

1 /5 Cindy Love: I went into the hospital for a mini heart attack....they denied my claim before I was even discharged from the hospital. Im STILL fighting them on this, and people need to know/prepare for the fact that not only will they be of no use to you, your health will actually suffer from the stress of dealing with them. Im sad that I had to give them a star just to leave the review, they do not deserve it.

1 /5 JoAnne Murphy: I interacacted with customer service for The Hartford in response to an AARP quote that I kept receiving in my email. I signed up for the insurance and never received the policy to review and sign. They took my card info over the phone, prior to me executing any documents. The representative appeared to know what they were doing. Becoming concerned, I made several phone calls requesting the insurance documents be emailed for my review and signature and each representative assured me I would receive the documents. In all 3 instances, my email address was confirmed and my documents were "on the way". More than a week passed and no documents ever arrived. I decided to cancel this never-executed policy due to their horrible customer service. While canceling, I was assured that no charges would be assessed, since I never executed the policy, and cancelled long before the start date. I was lied to. My bank account received a withdrawl for the premium. Now I must waste time working with my bank to get the disputed charge removed. Buyer beware!

1 /5 Mathew Renner: The Hartford is a bate and switch company. I was contacted by them because they were the disability insurance used by my company. I filled out the paperwork they asked, making sure to include everything. They said I qualified for disability payments. I was happy. After a few months I was contacted by them saying that my SDDI was not factored into my payments. As a result I am now having to pay back over 10,000 dollars.
