The Best 15 Hair Salon in Port Orchard, WA (part 2)

Thomas Shannon (Shan Chav-Thom) I saw Tami Blacknall today, for a much needed haircut, as a new client to the salon. All of the staff were friendly, and Tami was a delight to work with. She quickly understood what I was looking for and did exactly what I wanted (too often hairdressers tend to only half listen, and then do what they think would look best anyway!), she spent extra time styling my hair for me and the entire charge for the wash/cut/style was only $40. Amazing! Additionally, I was extra relieved to see the amount of effort put into disinfecting and distancing, for COVID. I am a happy, new client!

Beverly B I really enjoy coming to this salon! I get my eyebrows waxed by Billie Jean and she does an amazing job every time. Shes always energetic and very friendly. I recommended this place to one of my co-workers and she and her daughter said they had a great experience too.

Maddie Wheeler Ive been coming to the shop since I was a kid (8 years old)! Never had a disappointing experience. The shop owner, Mara, is a one of a kind stylist. She listens to the clients desires, she gives them helpful advice, and she will always make sure you leave as satisfied as possible! Over a decade later, Im still getting my hair done here and I love it more than ever! Theyre great about doing all sorts of styles, including some more unique ones (like what I got done in the photos). I highly recommend giving this salon a chance, they take great care in getting to know their clients and most importantly, they will make sure you are happy!

Chelsey Geddes I absolutely love this place. These gals are great. Mara did my hair the first time I went in, she did an amazing job. I was in there recently and the gal that just started there was able to get me into her schedule. She also did a fantastic job with my foil and cut. Im so glad I found a salon that knows what they are doing and what the customer is asking for. Ill be moving away from the area in the next year and I will still travel to these ladies to get my hair done. Thank you so much, I absolutely love my hair.

Sandra Carroll Was super nervous to get my hair dyed Ive only ever gotten my ends dyed I wanted a halo and my front sectioned dyed along with a little peekaboo, Brittany is who saw me and let me tell you she did absolutely amazing she did exactly what I wanted and beyond! I would definitely recommend them and the other workers are so friendly it was easy to open up despite how nervous I was!

Kayla Lee We discovered this barber shop awhile ago and have been going back ever since! Both guys are absolutely amazing! David does a phenomenal job on my boys and I every time! They are always putting on events for the community! They are all about the community and customers and providing the best service! Love the shop and love the barbers!

Samantha King We took our son here today for his first haircut and it was a lasting experience! The barber was incredibly friendly and frequently comforted our fussy 18 month old in the waiting room. They had toys available in the lobby which was so helpful, and even offered him a lollipop when he was crying. When it was our turn for his cut they were so patient and gentle with him. They let me take pictures and saved some hair for me! He got a certificate for his first haircut! He looks great and we will be bringing him back for all his future haircuts! Thank you for making his 1st haircut such a great experience for our little family!

Kevin Hutchins Lennys is an amazing barber shop! We took our toddler here last Sunday for his first haircut ever, and Jeff did a great job! He was very patient and gentle with our son, and did everything he could to make it a good first experience. Our sons hair turned out great! Jeff even saved some of our sons hair for us and gave him a Certificate to mark the occasion. We will definitely be back here every time one of our boys needs a haircut. Brianna Kaihewalu Terribleee experience. She destroyed my son’s beautiful hair and blamed his hair type for her horrible service. Never coming here again. Oh and i had to sit next to dog poop. Hours later and I’m literally sick to my stomach over how bad she did, my poor son is so embarrassed to be seen. She used thinning scissors and made him look like a bird and the back of his head is as though a child cut his hair. No rhyme or reason. I’m shocked.

Kevin Willy I’ve been to every barber in port orchard. And good news is my favorite shop. She cuts a killer fade, and has the best conversations. Highly recommend.

Tianna Murphy We scheduled my daughter’s first hair cut with Stephanie and absolutely love it! She took off two inches and added layers. My daughter has very long wavy hair, and the long layer cut was perfect! Thank you so much Stephanie, we all love Allison new look.

Aislinn Jones I’ve been getting my hair cut by Alyssa for awhile now and I love every single hair refresh she’s given me. I have decently curly hair, and my hair is very precious to me (as is the case for many people), but us curly girls know that not everyone can cut textured hair. Alyssa always asks about how I wear my hair and what I do to maintain it, and gives me a cut based on what makes my curls pop and what my lifestyle entails/how I style my hair on a day-to-day basis, all while educating me about my hair. She is super knowledgeable and the nicest soul around. All around, I always have a fantastic experience with her and cannot recommend her enough for any hair service that you may need! Alisha Hussey Michelle is beyond amazing. She knows what she is doing, cares about the health of your hair and the view is breathtaking. Ive been going to her since 2016 and wont let anyone else touch my hair.

Vicky Markward Always have a great time getting my hair done by Helen. She makes it fun and educational. Always does a great job on my hair.

Abby Smith Helen is a good spirited, patient lady who pays close attention to the customer and their wants. She explained everything every step of the way while perfecting my needs. She uses great products and takes the time needed with no rush. Overall I had a great experience getting my haircut by her! Highly recommend

Austin Gese Helen is a fantastic master hair stylist as well as an excellent master aesthetician! I have been going to Helen for about 6 years now and she never disappoints. She is always down to try new things and always recommends me the best products for both my face and hair. She is very detailed oriented, and takers her time, but it is so worth it! I would recommend Helen to anyone.

Charissa Gaskins My hair looks *FAB*U*LUSH! Helen was an absolute delight to work with. I did a walk-in and she was in the middle of doing a consult with another customer so I went and did some shopping and came back and she squeezed me into her schedule. I havent been this happy with a haircut/style ever. So glad to have found her and I would highly recommend her work. You wont regret it!

L H I had let my hair go for years. Then its time to retire and I decided to treat myself to a good stylist. Morgan is fantastic! I went from Dowdy old lady to an old lady who looks like shes ready to take on a new spin in life. Great shaping and listening to what my hopes are for a style.

Joshua Amo Ashley is fantastic! Great banter and I always walk out with a haircut Im happy with. The salon is great with communication and if something comes up, they call to get a hold of you to either reschedule, if necessary, or at most to at least let you know there may be a delay. I drive from Bremerton and pass up more local options just for their service, theyre great.

Alisia Dacosta Ashlynn was amazing! She was so sweet and professional while doing my hair. We went through a very thorough consultation to make sure I got everything I wanted! Absolutely recommended her and will continue to see her as my hairstylist.

Elise McSmithey So glad my money doesnt support this business anymore! This salon employs independent stylists so this post is about the owners. They fired my stylist with 12 hours notice on the last day of the month. How unprofessional. To be clear there was not improper behavior/language, a fight, property damage, or other precipitating incident that would explain such an action. Apparently the communication was civil, but if you are running a professional business this is NOT how you act. Providing advanced notice is courteous and decent. This forced my stylist to cancel on their other clients with minimal notice. I am just agast at the behavior of some people.

Annie Thompson This salon is so nice! Alyssa did a wonderful job on my hair :) It looks fantastic and is exactly what I was looking for. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. 100% would recommend!

Kelsey Mazzacone I am extremely disappointed in the professionalism of this salon and would give less than one star if I could. I followed my stylist of 8+ years to here. She was an independent stylist that was ‘fired’ with NO notice. For people whose job it is to service clients to earn a wage, this kind of unprofessionalism is disrespectful and insulting. To be clear, there was no precipitating event to cause this, such as damage to property, a fight, or any improper behavior. All of the minor “reasons” for this stylist to have been forced out could and should have been addressed through healthy and professional communication between adults. Forcing a stylist to cancel clients and pack up with no notice is the epitome of unethical behavior. I am honestly surprised that there are still people out there who have the audacity and entitlement to treat others in this way especially when it comes to people’s livelihoods.

Francessca Henry I can’t say enough great things about Sara at Sport Clips! She absolutely saved the day after my son’s hair was butchered elsewhere. She was calm, professional, and had such a fun, spunky personality that made the entire experience enjoyable for my son. It was clear she’s not only highly skilled at what she does but also genuinely passionate about it. Sara took the time to show me all the ‘mishaps’ from the previous cut and explained exactly how she fixed them—it was impressive! We walked out thrilled with the results. 10/10—thank you, Sara!

Amy St. James I have been going here for over five years and I will not go anywhere else. Everyone in the Port Orchard Sports Clips has been so good to me! When I lost all my hair and had to shave my head, they cried with me. We also, by my request, took photos and had some fun so it was not so traumatic. Now my hair is long and they take great care of it! I highly recommend the team in Port Orchard! You guys are awesome!

Jonathan La Salle Great Sports atmosphere. Staff is professional and friendly. The establishment is clean and organized. It is well lit inside. Handicapped parking and handicapped friendly. The haircut was exactly what I wanted, and my expectations were met. I spent between 20-35 dollars with a tip included in that range. I will definitely go back, and I highly recommend this business to everyone in the Port Orchard area or beyond. Worth the trip

Micaela Tavares My 10 year old son had the absolute worst experience and most traumatic haircut he has ever received from this establishment. I don’t usually leave reviews but I felt it is important that other mothers know not to take your children here. The woman that did my son’s haircut was extremely aggressive and forceful during his haircut to the point she left marks where she was grabbing his head and hair. She was yanking his head back and fourth and not once did I hear her attempt to communicate with my child to let him know what she needed from him during the haircut. My child is not normally sensitive but he cried when we got back to the car and told me he never wanted to go back there again. We normally get his haircut at the local veteran owned barbershop and the fact that a military veteran has more patience and kindness for my child than this woman did says a lot about her. Please do better with who you hire sports clips. I will be trying to get in contact with the owner asap.

Dickinson David (Blondie) For the last 25 years my wife cut my hair. But I felt I needed a change. I was very nervous going in. I told the barber Kevin what I wanted and he was very good and fast. He trimmed my eyebrows and didnt cut the hair too short which is what I was afraid of. He did an excellent job. Ill be back.

Mark Richardson I have been to many different hair stylists/barber shops over the years, and the Mens Club provides, by far, the best looking haircut for me. I have had 4 different barbers cut my hair at the Mens Club, and all 4 gave me the same great-looking cut! I will go nowhere else.

Rebecca Hawkins Took my son in yesterday for his first hair cut. He is 1 and the lady who did his hair was super friendly and so understanding of his age. Allowed me to hold him and make him more comfortable. Involved his sister in the process and followed my requests perfectly! I highly recommend them. I went home and told my fiancé to go there to get his hair done next time.

Killer-mermaid My husband went here today for a haircut and came out looking amazing, they did his hair so amazing that I told him that he should go here for all his haircuts and he was happy with his hair too, 10/10 recommend.

Geri Garcia Loved my experience here. I have had a hard time finding a new hair stylist and I got really lucky when I called to check if they take walk-in customers. They had a spot open and could take me. Mandy was the one who did my hair and its exactly what I wanted. She also told me (since I have naturally curly hair) that curly hair cuts are done differently than straight hair, since they end up laying different. I think thats what got me here. She did an absolutely wonderful job and I am definitely coming back here again.

D P I usually do not write reviews however I feel this one needed to be written. I had never been to this salon before however ever speaking with the stylist Brenda I was assured I would be happy with her service. Upon arriving for my appointment I showed Brenda a picture of how my hair is usually cut and although she could also see the color and highlights in the picture I explained further how I get my hair colored. A light brown/blonde with blonde highlights. Brenda decided to do what she thought best and did a two tone very dark pulling very blond pieces through. It was awful looking. So Brenda put a toner on which toned the really light pieces down and left really dark hair. Trying to talk to her the next day about it was impossible she was very agrumentive and spend the entire conversation on why she did what she did. I have never had this happen in my entire life. My hair cut and color always turns out nice. Brenda did refund my money so I could go elsewhere which was nice. With that said I would not recommend this shop. They are right and their customers are wrong.

danrod3d They were very fast to cut hair and could probably slow down a little. Most of the stylists there rush through the haircuts, but usually don’t turn out bad. I would like to give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️’s to Sharon though. She was fantastic, very nice and took her time.

Mike Hannah I normally get a good haircut at this location, but my last visit, my hair wasnt cut the way I wanted it,(cant tell to much when it wetted down). The next day my hair was all over the place. I will need to return to have it corrected.

Jon Hohol I have been going to this location for quite a few years. I’ve been through navy barbershops, local barbers and salons on the other side of the bridge. While five stars is subjective as I couldn’t compare this shop to a fancier but also much more expensive clipping, you won’t find a better value, with a great online check-in service and some of the friendliest stylists I’ve worked with. I tried a couple other local options before landing here but I get a consistently good haircut. If you’re looking for a nice hair cut, at a great value from super people, this place will work well for you. If you have super high expectations or a complicated style, maybe a more fashion focused salon would serve you better. Communication is key, there is always some turnover at these types of places so if you don’t work with the same person frequently, make sure you know what you want and if you have any comments, discuss them as you go or beforehand. The stylists I’ve worked with frequently are fantastic and skilled.

Darcy Segura Stopped in to get my 18 month old trimmed up. This was my first time with him, as daddy usually goes for the haircuts. Stylist was friendly and great with my son. He was not the most cooperative, but she stayed patient, upbeat and so kind. Highly recommend!
