Steve I went in with a coupon, which I received in the mail. For $80, I received a cleaning, full oral exam, as well as X-rays. The precision with the tools were advanced and thorough. The technology used is advanced. Also received a packet with a plan of approach for further work.(pictures included) To follow, days later I received a root-canal. I was graced with precision and comfort. Mr. Buttar worked well with his assistant. Navigated difficulties with knowledge and patience. His assistant appeared very intelligent. They both seemed personally vested in my outcome. Side-talk while work was completed was forward thinking and consisted of further education and career advancement. As well as a short story of friendship and commoradory. This atmosphere is comfortable, and friendly. I would recommend that you go in; invest time in this team. They are very well balanced with a strong, effective team communication strategy. The ladies I met at the front desk are very nice as well!

Brooke I first found this amazing dental office during a dental emergency just two days before Christmas several years ago. Despite the holiday rush, the staff kindly fit me in and made sure I was completely taken care of before the celebrations. The doctor went out of his way to explain the different treatment options and how each one might affect my ability to enjoy holiday meals—which I really appreciated! Since then, Ive continued to see them regularly, and I can honestly say everyone in the office is top-notch. From the front desk to the dental team, every single person is kind, caring, gentle, and genuinely concerned with patient comfort and budget. They treat you like a person, not just a patient. I can’t say enough good things about them—I recommend them to anyone who brings up the word “dentist”… even if they weren’t asking for a recommendation! LOL.

Teena McCoy-Vadset The staff was very thoughtful, and took great care of me. Having four wisdom teeth removed this late in life was a little upsetting, but they made it as comfortable as possible. I literally had no complications and needed no narcotic pain medication during my recovery.

Z. S. (GreenRR) I would like to thank Dr. Huang and his wonderful team! They were wonderful with my anxious 8yr old son. He had 2 teeth extracted. Everything was very well organized and I knew what to expect. We would definitely trust Dr. Huang in the future.

Amanda Bohl Mixed feelings because I just had my worst dental experience ever in this office. My first two experiences with their office were fantastic. The staff is kind. It’s why I felt confident in booking all my dental work that I’ve been putting off.. But… 1. My medical history wasn’t well considered when selecting my sedation for a long procedure. And it was poorly communicated to me. I also had to ask them about it 2 days before my procedure. It seemed like they had completely forgotten about it. Pretty sure I wouldn’t have had any sedation if I hadn’t asked. 2. It took a combination of my own personal medication and their prescription to get me sedated enough that I could deal with having the procedure done. So now I’m short on my sleep and anxiety medications. 3. I had to pay a lot of money to be “monitored” during the sedation when they use a common bedtime medication for their sedation. When I was previously prescribed this medication for sleep, no one came to my home to monitor me in my sleep. 4. When I arrived the hygienist was surprised they only gave me 3 pills instead of 4, which is what they normally prescribe. She clearly stated this is less than what they normally give patients. 5. A cap was being placed over one tooth, but I wasn’t really told what that meant. The (what I’m guessing is a temporary) cap fell off my tooth a couple hours after getting home and it caused major panic. I hadn’t realized they were going to shave the entire tooth down the way they did. I’m not ever sure how I’m supposed to care for it. I would expect a little information about what’s happening and how to take care of it since they can see I’ve never had anything like that done before. 6. They have no way to help patients with anxiety in office. Everything is outsourced. They will just ask you to reschedule, which just doesn’t work for most people these days. I’m terrified for part 2 of this dental work (have the permanent cap put on)

Chimene Ehli I have to admit I always have anxiety when going to the dentist. On 1/17 I had an appointment to have a filling fixed. I honestly am so amazed the dental hygienist and dentist must have magical powers because wow! Pain free, quick and they were both so attentive. A++++ THANK YOU!

Reynolette Ettienne Ive been a patient here since 2019, and honestly, I have nothing negative to say about my experience, care, and the staff. As a military spouse, having to find a new provider every time we move can be frustrating, but thus far, my experience here has been nothing short of excellent. Granted, I have (and never have had) cavities, fillings etc., the most I need during a visit is a cleaning, and Im appreciative that they let me know which areas to focus on more and also encouraged a switch to an electric toothbrush last year or so. We usually joke that Im likely one of the easiest and quickest patients when I come in every 6 months. I highly recommend their office if youre in the Puyallup/South Hill area.

aandre mcdonell Great office! The Care was Great, Quick and Painless. Dr. Vi explained my care plan, she has a little bit of an accent so there was a couple parts that I miss but she could tell I was a little confuse so she happily reexplained that plan so that I could get back up to speed. I appreciate that she didnt just run out but she took the time to make sure I was tracking with her. Office Lady Let me know what the plan was cost wise for care before proceeding which was cool. I felt informed, so I wasnt shocked when I had to pay at the end. Then my Hygienist, Elise, who did the cleaning was so kind and encouraging. Really appreciated her bedside manner as she did my cleaning and the way she interacted with the other team members was with kindness and respect.

George Chastain I was referred here because my dentist broke off their instrument inside my tooth attempting a root canal. Dr Pla was able to squeeze me in and get my right back. I have never seen a team work together so seamlessly and effortless before. The whole team has earpieces to convey information back and forth even. Their equipment seems to be all of the latest and greatest as well. Ive never left any sort of dental work and thought wow that was amazing. A hand shake and a high later and I was on my way. The procedure not counting the numbing was maybe 20 minutes. It was incredible how quick and painless my first (and hopefully last) root canal was. I absolutely hate any sort of dental work and Dr Pla and her team made it a remotely enjoyable experience for what is was. 11 of 10 would recommend for your root canal needs.

Hailey Whitney I had an excellent experience at Pla & Watts Endodontics! From start to finish, the entire team was professional, kind, and efficient. They explained every step of my root canal thoroughly, which helped ease my nerves. The procedure itself was surprisingly quick and comfortable, and their attention to detail was outstanding. As a thoughtful touch, they even gave me a warm towel at the end of my treatment. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of endodontic care!

The whole team; Britt Rochelle, Rachel and Dr Toso made me feel safe and comfortable the entire time. It was quick with no complications. I have no doubt that if I need anything during my recovery they will be amazing and helpful. Thank you so much!

Darcy Ceccoli Our daughter had wisdom teeth removal performed last week by Dr. Toso. This was the second time that our family saw him for tooth extraction procedures. He was wonderful! We had to contact him after hours due to a reaction from the anesthesia. I was able to get in touch with him right away and get a prescription put in to the pharmacy which fixed the problem. He then followed up the next morning to make sure she was doing better. I definitely felt like he had our back and cared about how she was doing. I wouldnt hesitate to see him again in the future for other needs!

Bethany Norman It’s refreshing, actually, to find a dentist that makes you feel completely confident in their care for your child. I’ve taken my daughter to three dentists for children - one was awful, the second was so-so, but this one - I felt completely at ease, and immediately trusted their care. I would highly recommend The Center for Children’s Dentistry to anyone.

Tammie McGraw I have been going to Puyallup Family Dental since my long time Dentist retired about 3 years ago. I have been very happy with how they made me feel both welcome and taken care of. From the minute you step into the office Jamie greets you with a smile and a friendly hello. My Hygienist, Alyssa, comes to the front to personally take me for my cleanings and is so careful to make her service quick and painless. Finally Doctors Carlson and Walker have both been great in explaining any work needed and have been awesome with my dental needs. Kate Lopez Dr. Micah and his team go above and beyond with their care! My daughter (9 months old) had her very first dental visit last week. I strategically booked on one of the “Tooth Fairy” Days to make the first visit a little special, and WOW! I am so lucky we were able to get a spot there. I was a bit anxious for the appointment, but Dr. Micah and Mallori made comfort a priority, and I left feeling confident with all of my questions (even the ones that felt silly) answered. On our way out, we were greeted by Lumi the Tooth Fairy and I got THE BEST photos. She was also reading to some of the toddlers! So adorable. I highly recommend Dr. Micah if you are looking for a calm, knowledgeable and caring Pediatric Dentist! If you can get in on one of their Tooth Fairy Days, DO IT!

Emily Shanburn We just left Light Dental after my daughters ortho consultation and we fell in love with this office right after walking through the doors. It is decorated so cute and cheerful!! Right away we were greeted by Jamie who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. She gave us a tour, took some fun pics and x-rays, made sure multiple times throughout our appointment that we didn’t have any questions and was incredibly personable. We just loved her. We felt right at home and knew within minutes this was going to be our ortho office. Then Dr. Hass came in and sealed the deal which we were already certain about. She was incredibly sweet and thorough on what treatment would entail and the whole process all while having a smile on her face. You guys have just gained customers for life! We are super excited we found Light Dental!! Thank you all so much!!

Loren J Erickson There must be better dentists around here. I have been a patient here for over 2 years. When I first began coming here the service and treatment was fine. I was encouraged enough that I even decided to do the Invisalign treatment. However things quickly went downhill. There are multiple dentists and assistants that work here and I dont remember their names, so I will refer to them only by the service they offered. The dentist that runs the Invisalign program constantly harped on compliance with the program. It made me feel like a lab rat. She clearly cares more about retaining her preferred provider status with the vendor than what her patients are going through. I got in trouble for not taking pictures of my teeth in their app. When working on my teeth as a dentist her chair-side care was entirely lacking. On one occasion it felt like she was trying to rip my cheek in two while injecting the numbing drug. Rarely did any of the dentists use enough of that at first to completely deaden the treatment area. Other treatment in the chair was borderline abusive. I have had my lip stuck with the numbing needle not once, but twice, in the same sitting. I have had to swallow debris and had the rinse jet shot down my throat on multiple occasions. More than once I have been in the chair for 5 hours or more, and eventually had to start giving them a timeline to get work done. They dont plan ahead and arent very careful in the chair. No expectations were ever set about how long I would be in the chair on any visit. The Invisalign treatment was interrupted because scans couldnt be taken for the long-term retainers due to cavities and crowns that had to be repaired and replaced. These should have been identified before the Invisalign treatment had begun, and yes, they were bad enough there should have been some evidence of those problems back then. Lately there has been no communication about Invisalign trays or retainers being ready. No phone calls, no voice mails, no text messages, no emails, nothing. I am currently waiting, and have been waiting for over 2 months, for news of my permanent retainers being ready. Yes, I could call them. They probably have them sitting forgotten in a drawer somewhere, just like they have forgotten about me. But Im waiting to see how long it takes them to figure out that Im still waiting. And if my teeth shift back to their crooked state while theyre trying to figure that out, then...well...Ill be seeking reimbursement of my part of the $5000 I spent for that service. Regardless of how that plays out they will not be touching my teeth again. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere that can do same-day crowns. That alone delayed the completion of my invisalign treatment by almost a month (and counting).

Rebecca McQuarrie Over the last several years, my experience at Puyallup Park Dental has been consistently excellent. The hygienists and front office staff are professional, caring, compassionate, and joyful. This is a lot to say for a dentists office, and its what makes this place special. Now, lets get to the Dentists! If you are anxious about more invasive dental work, DO NOT GO THERE! In my 50-some years, I have never been treated so poorly by the two "Doctors" who performed my dental procedure and exam. If you want to talk with your Dentist, dont go there. If you are interested in a rushed exam (2 minutes long), an in-person lecture on your current state, or if you like to be talked over, not allowed to finish asking a question, or made to feel like you are an incompetent individual, GO THERE!!!!!! Please give them your money! When you ask them to allow you to finish talking, they continue to talk over you and then walk away. These so-called "Doctors" need to return to school and take bedside manners classes. You can tell that their bottom line is the money in their bank accounts. Good luck, folks! Im out!

Annie Salonen Im going to start off by saying Ive been a patient at this office for over 15+ years, I drive all the way from University Place, pass several dental offices to get to this one, from door to door it takes me 45 mins. I have NEVER....EVER....experienced such RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL....hands down NOT acceptable behavior from ANY front desk office in AMERICA LOL. Im laughing out loud because I cant believe the OWNERS of this practice has not done a single thing about alll the complaints. On Friday Nov 1st, 2024 I had routine cleaning. I knew something was VERY OFF when I called the day before to see if there were any cancellations for Thursday. Emma the "office manager" answered the phone...her tone of voice, her constantly talking over me (mind you this is probably a 45 second call to see if anything opened up) I didnt think much of it, but realized very quickly the next day...who I was working with. I get my routine cleaning, the Doctor pushed for me to get botox for my TMJ, tight jaw muscle caused by stress/grinding. Im back with my hygienist Lisa, who I LOVE. You really can tell when someone is very passionate about their job. She remembers my sons vacation-asked about particular things we spoke about 6 months prior at my last cleaning. THIS is the type of person Lisa is. We were wrapping up, and I asked if we were doing the fluoride treatment..she asked "Oh do you want it?" I said yes, mint please. I go to check out, I approach Emma. I can immediately feel this ladys bad attitude and energy. Im waiting on a quote for a crown they suggested. She tells me its $25. Me: For...? I have the office insurance that takes care of both of my cleanings... Emma: For your flouride Me: Ive never paid for this...ever... Emma: Well last week at a staff meeting we decided to change this and you signed for it. Me: WHEN did I sign for this? Emma: In 2017, you should have asked!!!! Me: Wait...you just said LAST week at your staff meeting you guys changed this policy and that I SIGNED in 2017.....none of this makes sense. Can I speak to YOUR manager... Emma: Im the office manager. Me: Can I speak to the owners? I need to talk to the owners Emma: Im the office manager. Previous to my situation with Emma, there was an older disgruntled gentleman sitting in the lobby also waiting....so Im not sure if she was already fired up from him and taking it out on me, or if this is just who she is. Based on the consistent (recent) reviews it sounds like this is an Emma thing in general. I demand a refund, at this point, my hygienist comes up and says to Emma, she does NOT have to pay the $25 for the fluoride treatment....her contract comes with this service. For those of you reading this review...its NOT about the $25 service. I was about to pay $1300 cash (not insurance) for my crown that I needed. And I would have gladly made the appt to do so. This business lost all of my future business, I have in the 15 years referred my sons dad, a family of 5-that all have since said the same thing about the decline in customer service since Patti left...and he has referred several family members. As a consumer, we have lots of options to take our hard earned money to businesses that provide BASIC customer service, we dont need to drive 45 mins to be attacked verbally by the front desk manager. I may be one patient, but please dont underestimate all the future referrals you are losing over "$25" which after waiting almost 3.5 weeks for Emma to "refund me" I had to call my bank and ask for a charge back-do not look good from a business perspective. Theres something to be said about Patti who has worked there for over 20+ years...her kindness...willingness to fix any issue..patience in rescheduling has been stellar. You lost the heart+soul to your business when she left. Message to the owners: if you are reading this and have not had a serious conversation with your "office manager" or noticed that EVERY single long term employee has left your company...you are doing a disservice to your business+ community.

The dental hygienists are great at what they do and remember who I am which makes it feel more personable. I’m always delightfully surprised by how much Dr. Ko remembers about my personal life. He makes it feel like a family. But the best part is he is a great dentist! He fills you in throughout his exam to let you know what he is doing and what he sees. Had to get a filling recently and the entire process was completely painless! That’s never happened before and makes me less likely to dread the dentist going forward. Highly recommend!

Bridget Fosback My husband went to 12 dentistry for some ork on a tooth during which the dentist accidentally popped off a crown on the tooth next to where he was working. The problem is they CHARGED him for to repair this "accident". Now the same crown has come off again and they are charging him for a second time to put it back on even though he informed them this was due to an issue that was caused in their office. We have had multiple issues with the quality of worked performed since the former dentist retired and will be going elsewhere in the future to avoid ridiculous charges like this. It is very immoral to bill to fix an issue you caused, clearly no conscience in this office.
