Olinda Falls - Olinda

Amila Valentina Kaye The main olinda hiking track is currently closed off due to repairs. However the cascade track is open and it is a beautiful hike to walk with the water streaming sounds to your right if walking from main carpark. The track leads to an open road. I didnt walk past that. I turned around and walked back.

Burkes Lookout - Mount Dandenong

Yin Li Wong Great view of Melbourne. Only a short 5-10 minute walk from the car park. Make sure you google map it to Burkes Lookout Carpark. If you google map it to this spot, it will bring you through a weird no through road

McAlpin Reserve - Ringwood North

Steven Pythas One of the most beautiful parks in the eastern suburbs! We live nearby and come here almost everyday. It’s always clean, facilities are in great condition and everyone is always so polite and courteous. Would highly recommend for a BBQ or a few laps around the lake.

Treetops Adventure Belgrave - Belgrave

Tiernan White This place is amazing! So much fun. Went and did 3 of the 7 courses they have there, both the quick drop and the long zipline. Lots of fun. Website says a weight limit of 120kg. I weigh 110, but everything worked fine for me, so still able to do everything even if your a bit bigger. Highly recommend if you a bit of a thrill seeker.

Dandenong Ranges National Park - Tremont

Jason Tabrett The national park has barbecues with gas supplied at the bottom in the picnic area, right next to a great cafe and is walkable from Upper Ferntree Gully station. There are many trail to walk there, including the 1000 steps and history all along the walk about the relationship between the trails and the WWII history we wish to remember. It’s well worth a visit and I recommend it!

Mooroolbark Miniature Railway - Mooroolbark

J M. So much fun!!! What a great miniature train station for the whole family. $3 tickets for adults/kids over 4. Under 4 are free. Sausage sizzle $3, cold drinks $2.50, snacks $1 both cash and eftpos is available on the premises. Plenty of space for hosting birthday parties. Picnic tables are available but when busy it’s much easier to bring some camp chairs/picnic blanket to sit. The lines can be super long on school holidays…. So be prepared to wait. But we went on a Sunday around 12.30 and we waited maybe 15 mins. All the volunteers are super friendly and helpful. It was a great fun, cheap and well executed from everyone. Highly recommended !!!!
