St Kilda Pier - St Kilda

Manini Dhar It is a lovely place to visit if you are located close to the city, particularly on a sunny day. The sunset views are to die for, and one can also see a beautiful view of the city skyline. The pier has been recently renovated and is now open from the morning till 5 PM. There are ample places to sit, few cafes nearby to enjoy a cup of hot coffee and has nice walking tracks too. Summers are quite crowded. The best part about this pier is one can see little penguins near the rocks by the pier, particularly during sunset. It is advisable to keep silence near the rocks so as to not disturb the penguins while clicking their photos.

Point Ormond Lookout - Elwood

Shawn Zhang A wonderful spot to watch the sunset, Melbourne skyline, and people, lots of people. Very busy over the long weekend, and probably most weekends too. Parking right at the lookout can be tricky to find, but if you are happy to walk 10 minutes, then you should be fine. Still worth the trip as the view is beautiful!

Parliament Gardens - East Melbourne

T atts Parliament Gardens in Melbourne is a serene and beautifully landscaped public space located adjacent to the Victorian Parliament House at the corner of Spring and Nicholson Streets. This small yet charming garden provides a peaceful retreat within the heart of the city, offering a place for relaxation and reflection amidst lush greenery. The gardens are known for their well-maintained lawns, a variety of mature trees, and vibrant flower beds, which together create a tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city. One of the key features of Parliament Gardens is the Coles Fountain, a modernist water feature that adds a soothing auditory element to the space, enhancing the gardens peaceful atmosphere. Parliament Gardens also holds historical significance, as they are situated near some of Melbournes most important civic buildings, including Parliament House and St Patricks Cathedral. The gardens serve as a popular spot for city workers, tourists, and locals alike to enjoy a quiet break, have a picnic, or simply take in the natural beauty of the area. Parliament Gardens are a treasured green space in Melbourne, blending historical context with contemporary public art, and providing a serene environment in one of the citys most significant districts.

Fawkner Park - South Yarra

James Hutchison This park is fantastic! Its very well maintained with clean facilities and beautifully kept grounds. There are loads of open spaces, perfect for picnics, relaxing, or tossing a frisbee around. I really appreciated the accessible restrooms, which were clean and easy to find. Its also super dog friendly—saw lots of happy pups enjoying the space. One of the highlights for me was the abundance of walking tracks, offering plenty of options whether youre out for a casual stroll or a longer walk. Great spot for all ages!
