5 /5 Dee: I can say I was helped before and had no problem, but a few weeks ago I called for help and when they sent a member of the church to my apt. I was advised (in certain words) that I shouldnt ask for help too many times. This was my second time in a period of 3years and I felt so embarrassed at that moment for asking them for that help. I was actually crying while the man was talking to me, because, when they take your food benefits away, your left with no other choice but to look for help. They also kept asking me if I had gone to ask at other churches and I told them yes, but most of these places give their money to agencies like Some other place, Salvation Army. A Salvation army employee told that they didnt have funds. But either way they dont help with food. Before the man left he gave me a card and I told him just to take it back since they thought I asked for something I shouldnt have. He said... No take it, that he hadnt meant what he said in the way I had taken it. I was so hurt and embarrassed that I told the man that I would delete all the phone numbers they had given me to reach them. What I hate is that I had given the church bags and bags of clothing, shoes, etc. so they could sell at their garage sales, and that didnt seem to bother them. There are time also when places have employees that think that the money they help the public with is coming out of their pockets. They know who they are. May God forgive them.
