First Baptist Church - brownsville
Deborah Henson Our first time visiting. A blend of traditional and contemporary worship. They have a separate section for those who are more comfortable with masks. A collection is not taken at this time; instead, there is a box to drop your tithes, offerings, prayer requests and visitor cards. Very friendly and cordial greeters and parishioners. San Felipe De Jesus Catholic Church
Paul Frechette This has become one of my favorite Catholic churches. Fr. Tony, the pastor, is muy servicial. Four Masses on Sunday with a different choir/band for each, and they pack the church. There are many young couples with young children and a well organized religious education program. There is an active group of parishioners who help the immigrants camped in Matamoros, Mexico with food, clothes, and legal aid.

Jim Gochnauer Beautiful old cathedral. Open on a Saturday afternoon when we stopped in, because custodians were cleaning. Not sure if open to drop in at other times.
