My experience with Dr. Blake dates back to her time at Westside Baptist Church and as an influential figure in the Lewisville community. While I respect her dedication to ministry and education, my interactions with her during my youth were deeply challenging.
During my school years, I faced repeated harassment from other students affiliated with the church, including threats of physical harm. When I attempted to stand up for myself and retrieve what was mine, I felt unsupported and even targeted. Dr. Blake played a role in escalating the situation, leading to my expulsion and placement in an alternative school in 1998. This experience left a lasting impression on me and shaped my views on fairness and leadership.
While Redeeming The Time Baptist Church appears to emphasize community and spiritual growth, my history with its founders has been complicated. I hope that the church upholds values of compassion and justice, ensuring that no young person feels marginalized or unsupported as I once did.
