1 /5 savannah schrank: I would never recommend QuickAlign Brakes and Suspension.
I made an appointment with Steve to have my brakes looked at. My car is 3 years old with 75,000 miles — it has never had the brakes changed. Steve even confirmed that’s around the time maintenance should begin.
Our appointment was for 8am on a Friday, and we showed up on time. Right away, Steve had the wrong information — he thought we were there for a battery issue. We corrected him and explained clearly:
• The steering wheel shakes
• Braking is difficult
• There’s a thumping when braking
Since this is our only vehicle and we live 30 minutes away, we were prepared to wait. But Steve seemed eager to shuffle us out. He told us it would take 30 minutes to diagnose and another 30 to fix — an hour total — and that he’d call if it took longer.
That call never came.
• After 90 minutes, we called. Steve said he’d check and call back — he didn’t.
• 3 hours in, we called again. A woman answered this time and told us they don’t normally call anyone until after noon. (Which directly contradicted what Steve said earlier.)
• Eventually, she called us back and said “nothing was wrong” with our brakes — that they were “thick.”
When we came to pick up the car, we were told:
• Brakes were fine
• The issue was “your tires were put on wrong”
• They don’t work on tires (even though their website says they do)
• We were charged $26 for that waste of time and a completely incorrect diagnosis
We were skeptical. The tires were changed a year ago, and this problem just started. So we went to a second mechanic a couple days later. Here’s what they found:
• Brakes were down to 3mm (good is 11mm)
• Rotors were warped
• Brake fluid was burnt
So yes — there was absolutely something wrong with our brakes, and it was dangerous. QuickAlign missed it all and brushed us off.
This felt like a scam. At best, it was total negligence. Either way — we’re never going back, and I’d strongly recommend you don’t either.
