2 /5 H. K. Lee: My husband and I visited this church today as we are looking for a church home. Along with the prayers for God’s leading, I’ve looked up the church website and it seems the Word of God preached without compromise to the world. I listened the sermons on YouTube as well. And finally decided to visit.
The building from outside looks old and small but it’s packed with the congregation inside. They seemed friendly each other and excited. Ok. Good for the church. Maybe my husband and I could make a connection there.
There were one more newly arrived family with a couple of children in front of us and a gentleman greeted them and introduced them inside the church. And he might haven’t seen us behind. We tried to get inside the building but the door was shut in front us and a couple of children rushed out and we couldn’t get in. My husband opened the door and squeezed inside finally and the gentleman who escorted the other family saw us and told us, “are you new? Go find a seat when you see it.” I asked him, “should we wait here ?”, He said, “no, it’ll some empty seats when everyone sat. The service is about to begin.”
We found the seat without any information for us nor greetings.
The service itself was nice with Hymns and in depth preaching (Colossians 3:1~4).
We hoped to see the pastor or the ushers after the service so we can ask some questions and maybe find out if this church is for us. We couldn’t. The pastor was sitting by the pew with the congregation and the people were leaving and kind a pushed us to the door; unintentionally because it was just busy.
I don’t doubt that the church itself is going well and the preaching is sound in depth and the people seem diverse as well. (We ourselves are also immigrants from S. Korea so it was pretty encouraging for diversity)
However just it didn’t work out for us. Maybe God was telling us that it is not for us that way. But I felt sad because we were looking for a church for a while.
So my suggestion to the Grace community fellowship is even though you’re well establishing as a church, please pay a bit more attention to visitors in future.
My purpose of writing this review is NOT to gossip this church but just wanted to suggest those things.
