3 /5 Jake Chen: We’ve been attending this church for almost two months now, consistently participating in both Sunday services and Bible study. However, we still don’t know who the pastors are, and no one seems to know us either. Even the recent child blessing service happened without us hearing anything about it.
As believers new to this church, we came with a genuine desire to grow in our spiritual lives. But so far, there has been very little support, follow-up, or intentional discipleship. Whenever I ask questions or try to learn more, the typical response is simply, “Do you have a small group? Ask your group.” Unfortunately, no one takes the time to provide clear, direct answers, and even small group members don’t seem very eager to help or engage deeply.
It often feels like a closed social circle—you have to work hard to fit in, connect, and be noticed. But for me, church is not about networking; it’s about worship, spiritual growth, and being part of a caring faith community. Sadly, we’ve felt left out, and the lack of spiritual companionship and guidance has been quite discouraging.
That said, one thing I do appreciate is that the teaching is solid and biblically grounded. Many members are very knowledgeable about Scripture, which shows a strong foundation in the Word—even if the warmth of community still has room to grow.
