Courtyard Family Practice - Midland (TX)

1 /5 T C B: I used to be very happy with this practice. I have referred half a dozen of my friends to Kevin Salas FNP-C and Courtyard Family Practice. However, it has changed drastically. For the first few years, I would make an appointment with Kevin and I really liked him. I am a 52 year old male and felt very comfortable talking to him about anything I had going on healthwise. Unfortunately, as they have grown, I no longer get to see Kevin. In fact I havent seen the same person in the last 4 visits. My last visit, is what has truly forced my hand to write this review and seek another provider. After a 3 day ordeal of trying to get a prescription called in and a very unpleasant conversation with one of the nurses there, where I was made to fill guilty for considering taking a medication for something that it wasnt typically prescribed for and its causing a back order for patients that need it, I am where I am. Keep in mind that I had a long conversation about their opinion and thoughts as a practice on this drug, before I even considered trying it. When I expressed this to this nurse that I had talked in length about this with the Nurse Practitioner I saw, the nurse was very quick to point out that this NP was only an NP in training and she had talked to Kevin and they had decided that the NP "in trainings" initial consult with Kevin no longer was valid. The last thing I expected was to be guilt tripped about something they recommended. Im truly shocked. I really dont know how to express how disappointed I am in how this has gone. Its hard enough to get comfortable with doctors to be honest about everything you have going on, and then they disappoint you like this. What a shame. Oh well, life goes on.

5 /5 Skyler: Kevin has been treating me and my family for about two years now. He’s very compassionate about what he does. Copay is a bit steep but so is everywhere around Midland. I recommend this office to anyone needing a primary care physician for their family.

4 /5 Lesa Stokes: The doctors are AMAZING here. Kevin is awesome! He is always very pleasant, thorough and never acts rushed. I feel confident that I am getting great care every time. I always get timely appointments and never wait in the lobby for long periods of time. I have only had one person ever be rude and it was over scheduling test and then the results were not given to me in detail. Over all the front desk personal are very courteous and friendly. The negatives are when you call you may get put on hold and forgotten about. This doesn’t always happen but I have been left on hold for as long as 25 minutes then my call was dropped because it was 5 o’clock. The other thing is (sometimes) getting the medication the Dr ordered isn’t called into the pharmacy in a timely manner. Test aren’t always scheduled right away. The doctors are so good and most of the staff are so friendly I can over look the small short comings.

5 /5 Can’t have a life with you Why be here if I (Kaylee Salinas): Always friendly staff I was recently there to see Dr. Kevin Salas about my anxiety. He is amazing I was nervous and very anxious before he came in. He came in sat down and we just started talking he made me feel extremely comfortable opening up and he LISTENED he didn’t make me feel like I was taking too much of his time. It was like I was talking to a friend with no judgement or just telling me to get over it. All of the staff is friendly and the office is clean

5 /5 vanessa sanchez: Kevin is great! I must admit I was scared to start care with a male doc as I normally prefer female docs, but my husband insisted! Fortunately I listened! My husband and I both love his willingness to help us get better! Kevin is not just that doc that tells you “you must lose weight” he finds the reasons why your feeling I’ll, and helps! Then will help you also to start a healthy lifestyle! His nurses and staff have never been rude!! His nurse spoke to my mom and I one day giving us tips about what foods were healthy! Oh and guess what, I was able to get 2 bags of fluids at the office without having to go to the boring hospital and wait hours just for fluids! Thank you guys!!! Over all this place is amazing!!! You will not be disappointed!!!
