New Life Baptist Church - college station
Miriam Gustafson I started attending New Life last summer through my now fiancé inviting me. He was in and out of town all summer so I attended most services alone, even before I fully committed to attending New Life exclusively. The alone part is crucial because as soon as the Sunday service would end and everyone start standing up and leaving, several people sitting around me would notice I was attending alone. Every one of those members made a very conscious effort to welcome me, get to know me, and introduce me to other people (peers, spouses, friends, pastors). A few weeks in my attendance, I felt the Lord telling me that this was the church for me and to fill out the "welcome card" thing in the back of the chairs. I filled it out and within a couple days I received a personal call from the preaching pastor, Allen. He was welcoming me to the church and inviting me to look into joining a life group (giving me options or instructions). I have attended good churches in the past, but nothing as great and organized as this one. I have also had good pastors, but never had a pastor consistently reach out to see how he can support me best.
