3 /5 Nin Gan: I have a lot of mixed feelings about this repair shop because there are many pros AND cons.
pros: your car will be fixed. They are very knowledgeable and are good at what they do. This might be the most important part to some people. They also accept walk-ins and get you out the door the same day, no leaving your car for the whole day.
cons: There is noticeable lack of integrity with pricing. The quotes given for a particular service are misleading. He says $129 to change the brakes, but he really meant $129/hr, and he can take as long as he wants to change them. I came to change the brakes out, and asked if he could tighten the heat shields. He did and it came out to an hr and a half so it cost about $200. He even said that he didnt charge for the heat shields, but thats a lie obviously because he included the extra time into the brake change. Would it be fair to assume there would be a different labor rate for tightening heat shields? I guess now its clear that many different jobs will be done at the same rate of $129/hr regardless of how simple they are. This brake change two weeks ago didnt solve the problem I went for in the first place, so I came again today, and this time we changed the rear brakes (which did fix the problem btw). They ended up changing a rotor and one rear brake and adjusted the caliper. But they also added brake fluid, which I was made to pay extra for. I didnt authorize this service, and was not asked for consent. Im sure they did it so that my car would run better, but this is a dishonest practice to extract more money from the customer. When I asked about the health of my other rotor, the owner confidently responded that it was good, but as it turned out, the serviceman didnt even do the second brake pad change, so that again was a lie (there would be no way he would know since it wasnt worked on). Luckily I had already paid for the 1 hour of labor ($129 + brake fluid) and the serviceman got to work on the second one, which took more labor time, so jokes on them this time [maybe?] because he finished this one FAST, only 15 minutes. So perhaps they purposefully drew out the time for the first brake pad change to maximize how much they can charge. The business practices are SHADY to say the least, and for some people, this may be the most important part instead when deciding whether to go here.
So overall, its ok. They appear to do good work and your car will get fixed, but they will find any and every way to get more money out of you by drawing out labor time, adding extras that you didnt ask for, and by tacking on time for labor presumed to be "courtesy".
