Sally Castaneda This is for the families that have love ones in the prison at the Galveston Hospital:
This is my story about the experience I had with this hospital and the prison regarding my beloved father. My dad had been transferred to this Hospital from prison because he had a stroke 2 yrs ago, I was contacted by them at that time and was asked to come and sign paperwork for a DNR.. I had several video visitations with him since his stroke and the prison hospital has me down as a emergency contact.. well I hadn’t been i touch with him since the end of September of 2024, so I decided to call and set up a video visitation with him on December 5 2024 which at that time I was told that they couldn’t find him, well then after being past around to several different people and calling several different #’s I was told to call back the following day on December 6 2024, so I did I called back again on December the 6,2024 which was a Friday, again I got the run around that he could be located, finally I was told I would need to call back on Monday December 9, 2024 and speak with the Chaplin, so I call back that Monday and I spoke to the Chaplain she stated that he is being transferred to a different unit and I would need to wait to set up the video visitation until they had transferred him, she told me he was okay and that she has me down as a emergency contact if anything happens to him. Well yesterday January 8,2025 I called to set up a video visitation with my dad and I was told that he has passed on October 21,2024 @ 5:19 am. They said he had already buried in the Huntsville Prison Cemetery since they didn’t have anyone down as a Emergency Contact.. This is a damn shame that a inmate has been in prison for his crime for many years he has a stroke and they call u to see if u want a DNR and you go and sign his DNR so that when he passes you can finally bring him home where his family is and when he passes they don’t even bother to call you and notify you of his passing, instead they decide to still keep him there in the Prison Cemetery. So it is like u are in prison for life and even after death they still want to keep your remains.. when I confronted them they then start to say “Oh no you didn’t talk to me” and still want to get a attitude about it, when all u have to do is to admit that you made a mistake and give your condolences and then try to see what can be done if anything to try and make things right. Now they are telling me in order to try and get my dads remains I would need to try and get a court order to exhume his remains which will cost around $12,000. Where am I supposed to to get $12,000 to correct their mistake.. I think they should at least say “We made a mistake we can see what we can do to try and exhume his remains and do the cremation so you can come pick up his remains and take him home with no cost to you” as part of them trying to make this right…

陶洋 I am a Chinese. On October 1, 2024, I went to the emergency room for a simple arthritis knee effusion infection. It was just inflammation, and it could be cured with anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving treatment. The doctor in this hospital insisted that I undergo surgery, and lied to me with all kinds of exaggerations. He did not give me any food for three days, and did not give me a drop of anti-inflammatory medicine. As a result, my condition worsened in this hospital, and I was not given timely treatment at the first time. Later, under my strong opposition, I chose to transfer to another hospital for treatment. The service attitude of the medical staff in this hospital is very bad, and the doctors and nurses in the hospital have serious racial discrimination. Dont trust this hospital.
