Alexis Nguyen I visited Ashley (@ashleythehairdesigner) for the first time today for a haircut! She knew exactly what to do and made sure I felt comfortable before any type of cutting. SunT G Marisela was super patient , and kind. I went in there with a big job for her to do and she came through very kindly. My hair was super hard to work with and she made it happen, color change without damaging me. I highly recommend her!

Megha Bhakta It was not a good experience I wanted a treading but the lady waxed and gave an allergic reaction. And my daughter wanted an inch off her hair and instead 2 and a half was cut and she hated it. I would rather stick to my regular 10/10 do not recommend.

Divinity Gunn I’ve been going to Tamara for about three years now and every single time she gets it done right. Always asking follow up questions during the service to ensure that I like the cut or color. Tamara is very sincere and professional. Anytime I receive compliments on my hair; I send them her way. (if you go to her you are bound to receive compliments everyday about your hair) I go to her and only her for my needs. I recently moved away… and as soon as I booked my fights to visit I booked my hair appointment with her.

jadyn way August 28th I booked with the AMAZING Tawny Carter. I asked for a full head of highlights, layers, and curtain bangs, and it was delivered! From the minute I walked in till the very end of our service, Tawny made me feel so welcomed! She is so sweet and easy to talk to . She is an all around rockstar!! Carmen Chairez Had a great experience with Tawny! I’ve been with the same stylist for 15 years and switched over recently. I was so nervous, but she was incredible, took her time assessing my hair and helping formulate a plan that I was comfortable with. My results were perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Sarina Lawrence Steve is great! I went in as a walk-in. I was in SA taking care of family affairs and desperately needed my “pixie” that I’m growing out shaped. Steve refained from the slew of wisecracks I would have said had I’d been him (did not look like a pixie, but more of a bad Dorothy Hamil wanna-be cut). My cut turned out exactly like I wanted, Steve and I laughed…. It was like we had not just met! I highly recommend him. ❤️❤️

Kawaii Franchesca So I went in for a tour and Jennifer, the manager showed me around. Immediately, I complemented her. But felt disrespected by her right when we walked in the 1st "suite". She asked if I had clients and I told her I had a few. And she immediately made the 1st comment that rubbed me off the wrong way. She was like "We automatically withdraw money from your account every Thursday. And if you cant pay then youll get extra fees on top of what you owe. If you dont have enough clients and cant make rent then we will lock you out". Inside of me I was like wow, shes so negative! And why is she already assuming that I wont have money to pay for it?! That was so rude! I told her that I was going to market a lot and she said "thats what everyone says and they dont do it". And I was like, "Okay but I will!". Then told her that I definitely have the money to make rent EVERY Thursday and she stoof shut! I walked through the door less than 5 mins and she was already giving me bad vibes! Also she made a comment saying that she wont be giving me any walk ins for whatever reason. Kind of felt discriminated by that comment. I recorded two rooms but asked for permission first. And she was like, "Please dont record me". And I told her that I was just recording the room and didnt even get her in the video. Mind you she was out the room and not even in frame lol. She also talked way too fast. I couldnt even understand what she was explaining towards the end. I dont know if she was on drugs or what but it was so weird. I went in there with the intent of renting a suite. And left NOT wanting to go back there EVER again. She seems like shes driving people away from the business with her negativity. She definitely did it with me! I wish Id of recorded everything. By the way, the suites were overpriced for the condition of the place/rooms "suites". Theres better ones out there.

Mary Reynolds Treusdell Salon and Spa is actually several independently owned and operated salons and spas operating in the same building with a common reception area. Due to construction and the awful traffic congestion along the route to my regular stylist, I decided to take advantage of a Groupon special and get my hair done closer to home during the holidays. Betty Bahktiar is an excellent colorist and Im happy with the cut and color. Shes warm and friendly, too. I really like her, but I feel that people deserve an honest review, so Im going to be as objective and honest as I can. The actual price I paid was more than double the Groupon price, even though I had sent her numerous pictures of my hair and what I wanted done. I had purchased full highlights/lowlights for half-off the regular price. However, when I got there, she said it would be another $65 because of what I needed done. Im a softie sometimes, and I just said okay and paid, but thinking about it now, I decided to mention it in my review. I also felt pressured to get an expensive keratin treatment that I really dont need. It was a pretty hard sell. My hair has been pretty healthy, even though it is highlighted, because I take very good care of it. Ive also been under the care of a master stylist who does excellent work. After she finished the highlights and pulled the foils off, Betty said my hair had a lot of damage. Well, it wasnt badly damaged before, so I was surprised and deeply concerned. However, after I got home and gave it a rest for a week, I deep conditioned it and its much the same as before - silky and strong overall. Any chemical process is hard on hair. I researched keratin and Brazilian Blowout treatments, and Im so glad I didnt have it done. It turns out that formaldehyde fumes are released during the process, and its unavoidable - no matter what the product manufacturers say. The formaldehyde is what binds the protein to the hair shaft. For a person with badly impaired lungs (Im on oxygen all the time), this could have sent me into an exacerbation if not outright respiratory failure. That is per the MSDS sheet on the Brazilian Blowout products. So I immediately cancelled that appointment! One last thing, and this is strictly a pet peeves of mine: I really wish salons would use care in their music selection. Ask the customer if they have a preference. I have pretty broad taste, but some customers dont like rap or todays pop music. Other than that, I dont care. Its irritating to sit for over two hours listening to music that makes you cringe. For that reason, most spas play soft, relaxing music.

I will never stop coming here to get threading done .. they are affordable & consistent my eyebrows have never looked soooo good, when I first came here from somewhere else my eyebrows were thin and ugly the owner without me saying anything took it apron herself to say I’m gonna let this part grow and thus part so as you come the perfect eyebrows would grow & she was right, my eyebrows have transformed into everything I’ve wanted and more !! 100/10

Jazmin Peralez Ive always been a bit anxious about going to salons because of past experiences, but everything changed when I visited Vensé Salon. The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming, and from the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. They even offered complimentary drinks, which was such a nice touch! Emily and Amber worked their magic on my thick hair, and I couldnt be happier with the results. My balayage is absolutely gorgeous, and the whole process only took two hours. I’m so impressed with the care and attention to detail they gave me, and I’ll definitely be recommending this salon to everyone I know, make sure to ask for Emily and Amber! Four month update!! Back again but this time I wanted a big chop. These owners Audie and April are like family. Very welcoming environment and very experienced. Audie educated me on the type of hair style I wanted and the maintenance it required, then showed me how to properly style my hair at home! I couldn’t be any happier, I’ve found my life long salon here ❤️

As a bodybuilder, I appreciated how she tailored the massage to my needs and explained everything clearly, including tips for injury prevention in the gym. She used a variety of tools and creams, and it was honestly the best massage I’ve had. What really sets her apart is how well she connects with clients—you can feel the difference.

Espi Benitez I went to get my haircut and this has been my usual place. My reason... Laura my hair dresser does an amazing job on my hair. I just tell her what I want and she gets the job done beautifully. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants their hair done exactly the way they ask. Shes the best, hands down!

mason rain This review is for salon professionals only: As a past tenant for almost 3 years This was a good place for me to start my business, but never would I ever stay there. The Spare key was stolen by a tenant, and we were all told to make plans accordingly if we locked ourselves out of our room because we will not have a key anymore. My sink was never repaired even though I reminded them several times. I could hear insane conversations, and profanity with my door closed. I complained about it many times for nothing to be done. My clients were starting to feel uncomfortable. There is two homeless people outside that constantly scream and yell at people. There is homeless people that live in the dumpsters, and they go through the trash by the front of the salon on a regular basis. I decided to break my lease because I was offered a window suite closer to my house NOT with SBJC - I knew I was going to have to break my lease and would pay to do so. As I made Payments they badgered me constantly threatening delinquency. Even though I had already paid half of the balance and had intentions of continuing to do so. At this location, I experienced a lot of favoritism, fake accountability, And overall, the environment was not suitable for my clients. There is a lot of other Salon Suite options. I highly recommend looking for a different location.

Anastasia Rotchtoe Eight straight hours of bleach utterly ruined my hair. Only go to this salon if you have a single step product or service you need done. Three months ago, I went to have my highlights roots touched up, and I was held hostage in the chair for 9 hours, with only an 8 oz cup of water offered about 4 hours in. I made the appointment a week in advance & was told by the salon owner the service would take about 3 hours and cost about $300 (cost of bleach, toner, and labor), to which I agreed. I know it was the owner because they called her on the phone to ask about such a time-heavy process like highlight touch-up. I was there on time from 2:00 in the afternoon until 10:45 at night because she kept adding things and letting it sit longer and longer. You read that right. OVER EIGHT STRAIGHT HOURS. She melted off most of the ends of my hair by reapplying bleach to already bleached areas and not sticking to the roots/hairline. She insisted the bleach was only 20 volume and would lift evenly. Halfway through at 7pm, FIVE HOURS LATER, when it wasnt lifting, she wiped off all of the bleach roughly with a wet towel!!!! Strip by strip, reapplied bleach and lightener AGAIN to my already compromised hair, then put the foil back on and put me under the dryer! She also attempted to stop the bleach bleeding onto the rest of my hair by adding perm cotton rope between the foils. Then, without telling me, she started adding dark color to the rest of my unhighlighted hair. It does not match my natural brown color. At the end finally after rinsing everything out at 10 oclock at night, she did not want to dry my hair and I had to INSIST it should be dry so I could see the color. I LEFT AT ALMOST ELEVEN AT NIGHT. The roots were atrocious, and not near my actual scalp line at all. The toner made the highlights look baby blue instead of platinum in some places, and the dark dye definitely bled into the lighter areas. Pictures are included. Glad I didnt ask them to cut my hair, as if they would have the time. While I was sitting there I saw other clients get simple and trimmed and such, and they all looked fine. This didnt seem to be an understanding issue, it was completely a skill issue. Because she took so much careful time doing each step, I was really hopeful, but in the end they charged me $200 more for a total of 500, because she used double the bleach (after wiping off the first load roughly with the towel) As well as the dark color on the rest of my hair (which I did not want or ask for) and wouldnt let me leave(every other staff member had left and the door was locked, and I was there alone with a stylist) so I finally gave my card and then called the bank to cancel the charge on my way home. Giant waste of time, huge disappointment: do not go there unless you have a single step process that a barber college student could handle. Mo ths later, the ends of my hair she melted off are still horrible scraggly, and they constantly get tangled with the rest of my hair. My natural brown color is messed up from the fake brown color she added, and I still have no other money saved to even try to get REAL PROFESSIONALS to try to fix this debacle. !!!!EDITED TO ADD: The owner now says, below, that I should have voiced my disagreement in the moment. I did, but I was alone with a stylist at 10:45 at night who refused to hear it. She also goes on to say that "a solution could have been found in the moment" apparently at ELEVEN OCLOCK AT NIGHT after I was bullied into paying before my hair was even rinsed out or dried. I am reopening this claim with the bank, and will soon file with Bexar County small claims court.

I was nervous reading all the reviews about a language barrier but that turned out to be no issue at all. All I know is my hair looks beautiful, I feel amazing and I will definitely be going back! Update: the biggest proof of a great haircut is how it looks the next day after I wash it and it’s still perfect!!! It sits exactly how I wanted and I could not be happier!!!! 5 stars is not enough!

Luz E. Varela This was my first time going to this place. Last place I went to butchered my hair and I decided to just let it grow out and then get a trim. Chelo took the time to listen and treat my hair with gentleness. She made my layers look good again and she asked me questions to understand my type of hair. Then when she washed my hair she massaged my scalp amazingly! That was a great way to end my appointment. Chelo is very kind, personable and I will definitely be returning!

Lauren Armenta I have nothing but my praises to sing of Salon Lumen. I called several other salons in town trying to get squeezed in on a last minute basis and of course was met with snappy secretaries. However when I called Salon Lumen, the owner April had the sweetest attitude and customer service towards me. She got me an appointment right this morning and it was the best experience I have ever had. Angelica did my hair and gave me the most gorgeous Brazilian Blowout ever! It took a long time because I have very very long hair but Angelica was patient and very kind. She had me laughing throughout my appointment! For anyone looking for a salon you need to make this your regular place. It is most definitely high quality and the stylist are very knowledgeable and trustworthy! Cant wait to come back!

Rebecca Davis Daniella does beautiful hair color and hair cuts that provide movement and body. I came to her first on a recommendation from a friend to fix a very bad dye job from another salon. I have red hair (medium auburn) which is challenging enough and then combined with a prior hair dye job that left me with two completely different colors; I needed a professional who was not only good but who cared. I did a consult with her first, she made a plan, and then shortly after, she executed her plan beautifully and got me back to my original color while giving me golden copper highlights and a hair cut with body. She’s very thoughtful in her approach to your hair and excels in providing the right color with dimension and a cut that provides style and movement. Highly recommend.

Danielle Bouchard Brenda at Beauty Color N Style has always given me great haircuts and color for my naturally curly hair. My hair always comes back to life after I see her for a cut and/or color. She is very skilled in cutting curly hair and I can wear my hair straight or curly and it looks great thanks to her.

Debora Boeck I go in with the nicely highlighted hair you see in the first picture below and and leave with this awful red hair you see in the other picture. All I asked him to do was touch up at my roots, matching the base color. My base color is not red. And he slapped it on so carelessly it dyed it excessively beyond the new growth. THEN he has the audacity to charge me $88! For 15 minutes of work. Maybe 20 minutes if you add the blow dry.
