Marie Rice My hair is so vibrant and healthy since Hanna, my hairdresser , takes care of it. She listens patiently to my requests every time. Usually I bring a picture of how I want my hair done. She is very accommodating. She pays attention to every detail when doing my hair. I always love coming to see her. She is a very lovely person. I highly recommend her. Go see her!

steve stevenson Have been using ming as my barber for over 10 years. I dont live near here anymore but I try to always wait to get my hair cut by him. Im almost 66 and only had 3 great barbers that cut my hair perfect every time and hes one of the top 3. The other 2 have retired. Haircuts are very reasonable for the wonderful cut you receive. You will pay the same price at a quick cuts place where barbers are new and whack your hair all up. Go by and tell ming that cowboy sent ya.

Chelle 7 Dana is the best! I have baby fine hair and not a lot of it. She knows how to cut it so it looks good and appears fuller. ☺️ She also a master hair colorist. She is the most reasonably priced stylist in the business. Only negative is her area is a bit small (they are in an older house) but she has it decorated beautifully. She is always uplifting too. My husband and I drive out of our way to see her. It is worth it!

Daniela I forgot to review but the girl Ashton made me sign a form that said the price was around $150 then when I got there she completely changed what was planned… she just took a streak of hair and said it’d give me the same effect of highlights and I hesitantly said ok… it turned out like ugliest hair I ever seen and the price was over $300. Ugh.

Elayna Eben I have been going here for almost 2 years. And it is the best! I am mixed and have curly hair and it’s very thick and long. They have cut, dyed and blow dried and I am always happy with the results! Sarah, and an all the staff have been the best, I have seen a few of the ladies and even if they don’t know my request they will look it up and we will work it out together. Highly recommend everybody here lol.

My hair was in horrible shape when I first began but now it’s in the best shape it’s ever been. Her knowledge in coloring and styles are the best I’ve ever experienced. Salon was well kept. She noticed my ends were lighter than my roots so she recommended an hair gloss, which my hair looks way healthier now. Overall experience was great.

Icelda Beltran Being new in DFW was exciting but nerve wrecking when it came to finding a new hairstylist. I was very blessed to fall in the chair of sweet Erika! Erika definitely knows how to listen to your end goals when it comes to hair but also is going to be real about the process of getting your hair to that point, which I appreciated deeply because I want my hair to be in good hands and not just get it done so I can pay. A big plus is that Erika wasn’t just my hair stylist she was basically my therapist! Wouldn’t recommend anyone else but the lovely Erika!!

Daria Salon One 21 is amazing! Delia did my updo for my wedding and a trial a few months prior. Her salon also took care of 2 bridesmaids, my mother, sister in law and mother in laws hair (all done in under 3 hours). My hair lasted all day without budging both times. She and her staff are so accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure our hair looked the best. I can’t recommend this salon enough!

Kristen Met with Emily for my first ever hair appointment and left so pleased! I’m a natural blonde who gets darker in the winter, and was looking to brighten it up a bit. Emily does a great job with funky colors but she also does an amazing job with blondes. I left looking brighter and natural, had received compliments minutes after leaving the salon. Her prices are reasonable and she was easy to chat with the whole time. Would definitely recommend her

Emilia Schreibmaier I got my hair done by Erin this week, and all the hairstylists were very friendly. I asked for a dark ashy blonde with light blonde chunky highlights. My hair turned out pretty much brown with a few blonde highlights that are only visible at the top. I had a consultation, where I was told a price estimate and what procedures will be done, without being told that it might require multiple sessions to get to the results I wanted. When I adressed that I was unsatisfied at the end of my appointment, I was told that it will need 1-2 more sessions to get there, that "they thought it would lift better", it might get lighter over time, etc. I thought it was a bit unprofessional to not give a client realistic expectations beforehand. Then I was told I can come back in 4-6 weeks to get it fixed, without any discount or an appointment sooner. I dont think the stylist did a bad job or that it was necessarily their fault. I was just disappointed in not being given realistic expectations beforehand and the way my unsatisfaction was kind of ignored.

Jacqueline Bollenback I was really looking forward to my appointment at Whistle and Sway, but I left feeling heartbroken and disappointed. My hair was mid-butt length. I had been growing it out for years. It’s always been a feature I’ve taken pride in and felt was a defining part of my identity. During my visit, I asked for bangs and a butterfly cut—to add some volume while keeping as much length as possible. I even showed the stylist pictures to make sure we were on the same page. She reassured me she’d only need to take off about half an inch and showed me the first cut, which seemed fine at the time. As she continued, though, I started to notice she wasn’t giving me a butterfly cut but regular layers instead. When I brought it up, she said this style would work better for my curly hair. I trusted her judgment in the moment, but looking back, that was when I first started to feel uneasy. When it came time to style (I had an event to attend right after), she diffused my hair for only a few minutes, explaining that she wanted to “avoid frizz.” Unfortunately, my hair was still wet and fell flat, so I didn’t get to see how the cut would look once fully dry and shaped. I also didn’t leave with styled hair, as I had originally expected. The hardest part was when I finally moved my hair to the front and saw how short it was. My once mid-butt-length hair now reached my breasts. YEARS of growth were gone in an instant. I mentioned how short it was, but she brushed it off, saying it was just “shrinkage” from styling it curly. That wasn’t true—my hair was still wet. I’m truly devastated about how much length I lost and the experience overall. I’d expect this at budget chain, but not a high end salon with such promising reviews. I hope this review helps others set clearer expectations and that the salon takes this as an opportunity to do better in the future.

Brittany took the time to listen to what I wanted, while respectfully making recommendations. Super personable, didn’t push product, and was just really fun to be with during my appointment. Thyme Kolman Acute may be a long drive from me, but I make the trek every time because of my barber - Mason. He’s a master craftsman who I feel very comfortable with due to his communication skills, work ethic, and consistent results. I have also worked with Gaby in the past on more intricate hair projects involving color and they were a joy to work with as well, delivering incredible alt looks that I got so many compliments on. I can also say I’ve chatted briefly with most other stylists around Mason’s station in the chair and I love the conversation and vibes. You can really tell how much this team loves the work they do — and they’re damn good at it too!!

Aisha H I have been coming to Acute Salon exclusively for all of my cutting, coloring and styling since they have opened. I have been working with stylist Damon Butler for all of my formal event styling appointments for the past year and half now and have gone in for a blowout or styleout almost once a month and each time they have come out absolutely exactly how I envisioned them. Damon has previously worked at Drybar and has been with the salon and in the industry for years and I cannot recommend him enough. He was also able to get me ready for Indian wedding events multiple days a week for multiple weeks in a row and can also style and place formal South Asian hair jewelry. Whenever I need to look my best for any type of special event, I know to book with him.

She was patient, careful and very attentive. Not only is she a master with her hands but she has a very creative passion for her work. Everyone in the shop works so well together and eager to help each other out at anytime.
