Ericka Reina First and last time going. I asked for a cut and it was evident the stylist (young lady) didn’t have much experience, she had a barber “fix” my hair at the end.

Erica Moreno I took my 3 year old son to get a haircut. Soon after we walked in they didnt seem to want to attend us. The lady said come on and kept texting for a minute while we waited for the booster seat, she then went to get it and slammed it on the chair. The lady was not gentle she would grab him so rough that his cheeks had red marks. He would make a face but he has been getting haircuts since he was a baby so he is used to it. But soon he started crying and when I got up to check he was full of marks and his cut was not good. I told her to stop, paid and left. We will not be returning.

Karlo Tilaon The staff will accommodate you even if you dont speak Spanish, they largely support a Spanish population, but they occasionally support English speakers, the staff could speak both. I dont speak Spanish, and not once that I felt Ive been cheated on my wait. This place is usually full on Friday and Saturday. And the wait could take 30 mins. The hair-cutters are very good, you save a at least 5 dollars, while having a good clean cut, something that you might not get in Super-cuts or other mainstream hair-cutting place. Im not picky with my haircut, as long as its done cleanly, im good with it. With that said, if you dont speak Spanish and your picky with your haircut, your going to have a hard time explaining how your haircut should be. Honestly this is the only place in Tyler that does my hair justice, other haircut place in Tyler just always do a horrible job or are less accommodating, except the barbershops, those are pretty good too but you have to pay more. My hair is straight when short, but grows kinky, so its not the typical hair hair-cutters are used to.

Bri I see Chelsea Sheffield. She’s hands down the best hairstylist I’ve had in a very long time. She really listens to you and what you want done, and gives her honest opinion, which is greatly appreciated, then she works her magic. I’ve never been disappointed in anything she’s ever done. The salon is an older house but I love love love the look, the feel and just the vibe of the place. I’m very comfortable getting my hair done here. It’s always looked clean, and I’m sure there’s been days where it’s been hectic and it wasn’t 100% in some areas but a lot of places are like that. But anyways, I highly recommend coming here and booking with Chelsea!

Kara Bizzle Rachel Tucker is the absolute best! She is the only person I trust 100% to cut and color/highlight my hair! She has never let me down! This girl works wonders with color and she’s pretty amazing with a razor too! I’ll drive 2 and 1/2 hours for her to do my hair every time! She’s the one you want ladies!

Corbee Dickey Rachel is amazing! Both my Mom and I have been going to her for over 2 years. She works wonders with color/highlights and gives my short pixie an awesome shape. Christopher Called multiple times over an hour between 6pm and 7pm to ask if they take walk ins or to make an appointment no one answers the phone. I was trying to try a new place out for a hair cut but this alone tells me this place is unreliable I called multiple times spaced out over a hour no answer. I wont be giving this place any business of mine. Its unprofessional to ignore your phone.

Jalee Dudley Rachel did an amazing job styling my daughters hair! She cut at least 9 inches off, highlighted it and added seafoam color, and styled it beautifully. Thank you so much, well absolutely be back!

Allyson White I had a facial done at the salon the other day by Leeanne. She was very nice and polite, I had heard great things! I was 7 minutes late for my appointment (my fault). I show up and ask for her and was told she is finishing with another clients hair and will be with me soon. At this point I am glad she wasnt waiting on me! I wait about 4 or 5 minutes and she comes over to me. Walks me to the spa area and explains to me that we will only have 40-45 minutes of facial time to be in the allocated time frame of the appointment. Okay... I told her I had briefly looked at the different facial offerings but hadnt really had a lot of time and it had been a few weeks. She said oh okay, we will just do the signature facial today... okay. I am pretty well versed in skin care and makeup products. I worked for Sephora and Dior for several years while in college. (I didnt tell her any of that) well she begins to tell me the whole process. Then gets to the mask part and says its a paper mask and they are all the rage right now. Im like oh okay, not what I was thinking. Because when I think of paper mask I think of walmart... not spa experience. But I go with it. I gave 3 stars because other than all the products being cold and not up to my expectations it was nice and relaxing. At the end she leaves me with the rest of the serum from the mask. She says there is still several days left and its great. Okay... I see the packaging and it is a mask you can buy at Wal-Mart/bed bath and beyond for $7.99 for two. Which honestly I wouldnt have minded if the facial wasnt so expensive. $85 for 40 minutes roughly. I would have liked better products and more facial options.

Tracy Vancleave I always enjoy going there to visit Mika to get my nails. She is amazing and always ready with a smile. I would recommend her to anyone.

Lori Mae Martin I was a new, walk-in client. I moved here a year ago and having then hip length long hair and having 2 small grandsons that love to pull, tug and play with it I chose to take the quick/easy way out and chopped it all off rather than shop around for a new stylist. However, from the moment I walked in the shop I was made to feel welcome and unhurried. Both stylist took the time to say hello first, I needed a quick shampoo, cut and style, now keep in mind Ana worked me in between her already set appointments but NEVER made me feel like she was doing me a favor, (which she really did!), instead she snipped the dead right off my head, washed said head after I ran an errand right up the street, as she had an incoming appointment coming in and Id have to wait anyway, lol, then while that appointment waited on their timer, she did several eyebrows, put me under the dryer, took care of her leaving customers, and all I saw left, with a big smile and thank yous. Then she came and styled my cut hair and I understood why all the reviews and customers are happy and she is so busy. I will be returning, Ana and I will send as many customers your way as I can. Love my hair and brows!!! Next time we will do before and after pics, so I can brag some more on your great work and shop!!!!

Kris C. If you cant quite find the building, look for the bouncy castles. The staff are very friendly and polite. The main language spoken here is Spanish, so polish up your Espanol or make sure you have Google translate installed. I definitely enjoyed my appointment with Ana (stylist)

Lindsey Griffith Thank you to Joanna and her friendly team at J Venture Salon! Joanna recently gave me a cut and color/highlights that transformed my look and definitely gave me my glow back. Her technique is very professional. She takes time for a thorough consultation and she is careful about choosing the correct formula for my hair. (She never will slap on a color just hoping I’ll be satisfied with it). I look forward to continuing to do business with Joanna and J Venture Salon.

BM M Breann did an awesome job on my sons s hair. He was acting awful. She kept on going and did amazing. The best hair cut he has ever had. Cutting a 1-year olds hair is not an easy task and she did great!

Chance Slisz Extremely happy with the service I received here. Very patient with me as I started not to feel well during my session. Emma was amazing. Ill go back for another session on about a month. I got better service here than I did at my last salon. Go see Emma if you want top notch service. Oh and congrats on the baby boy. Leandria Lee Sonya did a great job . She has been doing my hair from my high school days and always does things in a professional manner. Never have to worry about any problem when you sit in her seat and the feel at the salon is refreshing and just down home southern love. I’ll forever refer her to others .. love

Cinthia Navarro This place is very friendly. Only thing is that Courtland cancelled on me 3 times and didn’t let me know till the day of the appointment; It took me texting her in order for her to notify me about the cancellation. 2 out of the 3 cancellations I was already at the salon waiting on her, and on one of the cancellations her reason was that she had personal issues going on. I totally understand because things happen but shortly after she posted on her story doing other girls hairs at a wedding. I feel like this was very unprofessional of her.

Terry Heckmann Amber was my stylist. She listened to what I wanted very thoughtfully. It was my first cut with her and she did an amazing job. It was exactly what I wanted and I am so pleased. Prices are great and the setting is very pleasing.

Nicole Wansley I know my experience does not reflect on the salon as a whole but the stylist is a representative of the salon. I have never wanted to get out of a place as fast as I did here when we were done. I apologize that this is going to be long but I feel like I have to explain. It started off with her texting me an hour before my appt asking if I could come in an hour and a half later at 11 because she was running behind with her first client. When I got there a stylist greeted me and when I told her I was booked with Jenna she told me that she hadnt been in yet and that she would come get me when she got there. I didnt mind because I know stuff happens but now in hindsight I wish I would have told her I couldnt make it at the later time or been upset when they told me she hadnt even been in yet and cancelled. We did our consult and she agreed my hair felt too bright and warm. I just wanted lowlights, bring up the blonde a little bit, keep deep roots and a cooler tone. I know that explaining what you want the outcome of your hair to be can be very hard and misunderstandings happen. For that reason I had multiple reference photos (9) of my own hair showing her what I wanted and how I kept my hair. I let her know I wear my hair up most of the time so my main thing was I wanted to keep the lived in, grown out look with deep roots. It was hard to tell what was bleach and what was color when she was doing her foils but I assumed that most of it was color since we had been talking about needing more dark and keeping with grown out roots. We decided to do a 1 trim all around (no layers) but she pulled the front area and started a face frame. It happened so quick that it was too late for me to stop her. When she started drying it the tone was not what we talked about at all. When she was done I pulled it up like I normally do to see how it looked that way and had bright highlights that were right against my hairline without any deep roots and even my baby hairs were highlighted. The places around my face that fall or I pull forward, one side was my natural dark brown and the other was bleached. I showed her and she said "oh, its just hard to get the hair in those side areas because it lays differently". Ive never been told that before and have had my hair done many times never having an issue like that. I asked her if there was anything she could do because it would drive me crazy, she said "Ill just put more toner on those two pieces." As Im looking at the rest of my hair trying to figure out what happened she says "how about you just sit with it for a little while and if you want to you can just set up another appt and Ill do a root tap for you." The extra toner she added of course washed out a few days later, the color she used for the lowlights isnt even close to matching mine and the trim is very uneven. Im usually not a complainer, I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. So the fact that I paid a little over $300 for a partial, ended up with the complete opposite of what we spoke about and an uneven cut made me feel like I needed to leave this review.

Kelli Hays I am OBSESSED with my hair and of course Lana! She is hands down the very best in all of East Texas. I always enjoy our conversations and I fully trust her to do “whatever she wants to” with my hair. She is absolutely phenomenal and the ONLY one I will ever trust to do my hair. Thank you Lana!! ♥️

Alexandra Kane Lana worked wonders on my hair today! She covered my horribly grown out gray, refreshed my overall color, and shaped my cut with super-flattering and gorgeous layers. Jennifer Beall I’ll never forget my first appointment with Lana. As I walked in, her previous client passed me at the door and told me that I was going to be blessed by knowing her. And that is exactly my experience. Each appointment is a positive and uplifting experience because her passion permeates the atmosphere much like the music she plays. I am able to relax and trust her completely with my hair. For a curly-haired girl, that is such a gift. She stewards her gift well, and I will continue to trust her with my precious curls.

Bradley Mason This was such a great experience! Everyone was so nice while I was there, and Stacy was AMAZING with the job she did. I have never felt more comfortable and taken care of with my hair. Went in (shoulder length) for a full bleach, color, and cut. I asked for "as long as it looks good" and ended up with legitimate satisfaction. Will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend this salon.

Kari Turner I tried setting up an appointment but everyone was on vacation. The owner did call me back and said someone would get back to me.. but happy I didnt get a call back because Shear Decadence is am amazing hair salon! I recommend Randi! Shes amazing.

Micah Lewis This place is an absolute gem! It’s hard to find people who specialize in the “anything-but-basic” kinda styles and Olivia blows me away every time. She helps me feel confident and cool and I’m thankful I’ve found a stylist like her! I also highly recommend Brittany for microblading / shaping and lash lifts. This girl is a brow master! The rest of the team Olivia has curated are swell too!

Kathy Daw This was a leap of faith today, as I am new to Texas. I tried calling several places, as well as asking neighbors for referrals. The Fairest Salon returned my call and booked an appointment for me. The salon was neat and clean, and my appointment was on time. Leigh did a great job with my color and cut, and I will return soon! I highly recommend The Fairest Salon!

Angelica S. I’m new to pixie cuts and came to Allison to shape and rework what I had done somewhere else. She talked to me in depth about my hair, the reference photos I brought, and how it was all going to work/look on me. She was amazingly helpful as I figure out this pixie thing! The salon itself is beautiful, clean and all the people are friendly. This is definitely my new go to salon.
