5 /5 Paula LaBruna: My dad was born at Good Sam in 1939. This was his main go to place over the years. He had a couple trips to the ER and recent hospitalization in Feb. Always, a positive trip to the ER and always got placed in a room, not hallway . When he was admitted on 3rd floor, staff very friendly, helpful, and rooms clean. This whole team includes the nursing, aides, social worker, PT/OT/Speech, hospitalist, housekeeping, front desk, phlebotomy, food services. Also, I would like to thank the Wound Care Center. The whole team treated my dad so well.

2 /5 Jory F: The cardiac Care my husband received was excellent. His discharge from this hospital caused us so much problems. Its not even funny. Lavina the nurse we had at discharge was an awful human being. When being discharged with a lot of medication, its important to understand what they are for and when they should be taken. When I asked her she told me that she already told my husband. Very rude and quite condescending. Calling me hun. No respect at all for him or for me Well guess what? I am his caretaker and I need to know all the information as well. All of his prescriptions, and there are many were called in to a pharmacy we have never used and have no relationship with and have no insurance coverage for pills that cost $800 a piece They knew that he has veterans insurance and it had to be called into the VA and they said they werent able to do that. Lazy. Straight out of the hospital he had to get in the car with his heart condition and go to the VA in Manhattan to get the pills that he needed. Great stress to have after getting out of the hospital.Here we are 2 months later. Still trying to straighten out the mess that she made. I did receive a call from Mary the head of nursing and told her what was going on and she said she would have someone get back to me and I never heard another word. We went back to the hospital for a follow-up with the urologist and he did the same exact thing calling yet another Rx to the same pharmacy. I will also mention that they ignored his diabetic diet, until I started yelling. I had to go to the desk at least three times to remind them. So with that being said, I have to give them two stars only because the cardiology team was so good. I did find one nice woman a nurse who led me to the recovery area that nobody else seemed to know where it was. Believe it or not, he gets better attention at the VA than he did at Good Samaritan hospital

1 /5 Melissa R: Do NOT see Dr Park. RUN FROM HIM. My father was brought in. When I asked if they could do a head MRI because he had been showing signs of a stroke or some other neuro issue, he told me he had other patients that were more sick than him that he had to attend to. That night my father went into distress, went on a ventilator and I never got to speak to him again. He died a month later. The staff were not attentive and we had him transferred to another hospital on a ventilator. The day of the transfer request a staff member went behind my mother’s back and called me to get me to try to talk my mother out of her decision to transfer. How dare they! Unfortunately he never recovered and he passed away. After speaking to a family friend she said she had in her mother’s file to not let Dr Park touch her. She had bad experiences as well. I will never go to a Rockland hospital. If you MUST go there, stay away from Dr Park.

1 /5 Jennifer Coticchia: I was born at this hospital 50 years ago. I have NEVER had a more horrible experience in an ER than I did on 12/26/24. We were visiting family for the holidays from Northern Virginia just outside Washington, DC. My daughter had a 10 day post op hemorrhage from a tonsillectomy and Good Sam was the closest ER with an ENT on call. We were completely ignored by the ER nurse. She never ONCE asked how my daughter was doing. She couldn’t get an IV in to save her life and when she did get one in she pulled it out grabbing the papers and labels to throw in the garbage. She was so negligent I’m pursuing a lawyer. We were never hooked up to a blood pressure machine or heart monitor. My daughter needed to use the restroom, she was on the brink of passing out and this nurse just said ‘ “yeah it’s the 2nd door on the left.” I took her to avoid a mess and she passed out on the way back. THEN, we were taken seriously. Code “H” (hemorrhage). Blood pressure so low and heart rate super high. Finally other staff came in to help and both me and my daughter said we don’t want to see that nurse ever again. I will NEVER advise my family in NY to go to this ER. I’m so grateful for our INOVA healthcare system in VA. AND I called the number provided to talk to a patient advocate- 845.450.5029. This is a hospital in Kingston, NY. This is not Good Samaritan Hospital. What a joke. Shame on you.

5 /5 Joan Obrien: I came to the Good Samaritan ER with pain swallowing and a possible GI bleed. It was later determined that I did have a bleed and would need an endoscopy. I was admitted and stayed for two nights. During my time in the hospital I was treated with utmost professionalism and courtesy. The physicians, nursing staff and hospital staff in general were beyond respectful and attentive to my needs. I recieved the appropriate medical care and no longer have pain swallowing and the bleed has resolved. I highly recommend this hospital!
