1 /5 Lynne: Been a while since I worked with Lauren on my custody/divorce case. The resolution wasnt great. To be clear I have no drug records, no criminal history, am employed full time with a solid, lucrative career. There have been zero cases brought against me ever. My ex tricked me into signing a separation agreement that granted him full custody, then he moved my son an hour away and left me with very few options.
When I called Lauren and explained the situation she seemed to believe that we could very easily regain joint custody and deal with the commute that was forced upon me to visit my kid.
During the course of my case, I probably had to repeat the same information to Lauren 20 times. None of the information that I relayed during our phone screen stuck, I had to repeat all of it.
When it came time to start drafting paperwork, Lauren was so all over the place and hard to reach that my ex said to me with a smug tone, "I think we should have my lawyer draft this up, yours seems to be a little spacey" - Extremely embarrassing.
I ended up with no custody + paying child support. They didnt have to move my kid back or make any concessions for travel. I got visitation, but not a lot of it. And after I REALLY pushed her to get it done, I got a promise that they wont move him FURTHER away. Again, I had to really push her to try and get that done.
She sort of just let them make all the offers and then showed it to me and / I / was the one who had to be like, no, thats not fair, we should push to change it.
Like, she was essentially no more than a mouthpiece.
Its not like she was cheap. I had to pay her a $5,000 retainer.
This was a couple years ago now, so Ive given myself plenty of time to cool off.
