1 /5 Kenrick Gena: Today I stopped by this place and as a black man, I feel very uncomfortable and felt like I was racial profiled the security that was there in the front was very understanding because he was black. Obviously, I showed up in sweats and in a hoodie and with the COVID-19 mask on, so I understood when the security guy in the front said that I needed to take at least one of the items off weather, it be the mask or the hoodie so me black man I complied and I took off my hoodie so I went to the nearest available person which was a white women and we was talking and why we was talking. She started to show signs of being scared and also looking at me like she wanted me to leave. Remind you my mask was off. I only had my hoodie on so then the security guy came up to me and told me I’m sorry, but can you takeoff the hoodie? I took off the hoodie and at that point I felt so uncomfortable. I told the woman have a nice day and proceeded to exit the door, but as I exit the door, I asked The black security guy if his boss had called him about the hoodie? he said yes, shaking his head and smiling and said sorry. I didn’t feel no way afterwards because I knew it wasn’t his fault. He’s only doing his job, but I say all that to say. The whole experience was a cringe worthy experience and I would not recommend any black person to ever feel what I felt and I definitely would not recommend anybody. I know to go there. Remind you this is coming from a person that has spent over
$4000 on jewelry within the last month the fact that I have to put a money sign in order to be accepted is absurd as a black person especially in 2025….
