1.Elan Hair & Nails

Address: 1605 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10302

(159) Reviews Elan Hair & Nails:

Alexis Pino My mom started going here off of a work associate recommendation where she met the radiant and beautiful Dawn. She got the most beautiful cut that absolutely complimented her face shape and grew out so beautifully that I insisted she never allow anyone else to touch her hair again! I’d had such a bad experience with a new hair dresser about a year back that I hadn’t got a haircut in a while so my mom told me I had to try Dawn. With my very long curly hair I was nervous but excited and I left it to her. The entire time she was so sweet and funny, she made me comfortable and asked me if I was ok during the process explaining as she went along. I am ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with my hair and her and the entire crew at Elan! From reception to the hair washer everyone was so nice and helpful I 10000000000/10000000000 recommend!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ left out of here feeling sooooo beautiful

Julie Rahey I went here for a powder dip manicure and pedicure a week ago after seeing them rated top 3 in SI, however, I would not go back. The powder dip manicure was HIGHLY disappointing, as were the limited matching color options for nails and toes. The girl I had filed cuts into my fingers (see pics, the scabbing near my cuticles is from my fingers being filed), and after a week it’s chipping off near the tops of my nails from not being properly filed around the edges. Also the parking lot is a nightmare! One of the hairstylist parked a woman’s truck who was unable to park herself, and she parked the massive suv so close to my vehicle I had the hardest time getting out of my spot. Overall, not the best experience and I do not recommend you go here for powder dip manicures. The pedicure was just ok.

Yanxin Ma I visited this nail salon few weeks ago and Winnie did an outstanding job on my nails(my original nails were truly disaster)paying great attention to detail. The manicurists here are careful, professional, and dedicated to perfection. Plus, the prices are very affordable for such quality service. Highly recommended! If you didn’t visit this place, you SHOULD try.

4.T&J Nails INC

Address: 1766 Hylan Blvd Unit A, Staten Island, NY 10305

(35) Reviews T&J Nails INC:

淇淇 Joanna is my nail tech. Super detail oriented and ensuring with my desired design. I like to emphasize on the health of my nails so they can grow long. She did a good job, though she kept filing them kind of harshly, but the price and customer service is there for the quality I received. Last time I got cat eye with gel overlay for $55, tip included. This time I got a regular gel set, no gel overlay. It came out to $60 including gel removal, gel french tip with chrome on top. Plus they have a loyalty card system which is kinda cute ☺️

Angela Reteguiz I went in for the first time today for a UV gel fill with design and a pedicure. First, the salon is SPOTLESS. They have an enormous variety of colors and gels. It was quiet and spa like with relaxing music. As for services, I got a regular pedicure and it was great. Massage was good. Tech was excellent. For my nails, I had a primary tech who did my fill. She did a great job with my shape and length. Listened to what my preferences were and checked in throughout. The tech that did my design work knocked it out of the park! He paid attention to detail, looked at my inspo picture and really brought it to life. My nails look SO FREAKING GOOD!!!!!! I am so happy I popped in while my car was in the mechanic. I live in Brooklyn- and this place is worth the toll. I WILL be back. Thank you so so sooo much!!!!

hanjie liu I recently visited the nail and spa and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, creating a calm and clean atmosphere. The nail technicians were skilled and gave me a beautiful manicure. The spa also offered a variety of treatments, and I enjoyed a rejuvenating facial. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. With reasonable prices and excellent service, I highly recommend this salon for a pampering experience.

Iman Alsaman Got my nails done here today. Terrible experience. Came in and was told they have room for me. Got rushed through picking a nail color with two ladies standing right above me and wouldn’t even give me time to pick a nail color. I asked for dip powder and the nails literally looked like lumps. The color wasn’t even the color I picked. When I let her know this isn’t the color from the beginning she rushed me and said “yes yes it is just more layers” when I knew the whole time. I asked for her to change them which she did. Came time to check out. Told me it’s $45 and then says it’s $47 with tax even though I was paying cash. THERE IS NO TAX ON CASH. Horrible place. Never coming here again.

7.Manieed Salon

Address: 2491 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314

(24) Reviews Manieed Salon:

alex andria Tried Manieed Salon after hearing they were under new ownership. Called and made an appointment, everything was a breeze. Staff is super nice and accommodating especially woman at front desk. I believe Rachel did my nails. I got an acrylic gel manicure with French design, and a green tea spa pedicure with gel French design as well. I do not remember who did my toes but they were satisfactory, nothing to really complain about. However, my hands were a different story. Rachel had to redo the French many times, I was sitting in the chair for an hour and a half. She made me bleed on one finger which added on to the time. Worst of all, the French tip design was uneven, the nails were glued on uneven, cut and shaped uneven, and the best part - my left ring finger nail popped off clean .. in my sleep only 7 days later. After paying $160 total. My job isn’t strenuous on my hands so I definitely did not do anything to break it. I contacted them via Instagram and they offered to redo my nails for free but I would rather go somewhere I know will do a good job. 10/10 for customer service and accommodations, 3/10 for technician skill levels. Writing this strictly to inform other neighbors who are also thinking of trying this place. Be prepared to pay a lot for very little.

cyre wilkins The workers were nice, but the nails was giving bubble nails which isn’t what I asked for. She couldn’t even draw simple straight lines. She took way too long just to do a re fill that only takes up to 30-40 mins. And just for all of that, it cost $50… I wouldn’t advise anyone coming here. it’s a waste of time and money

Hanxi Lin Just moved back here and I heard that they changed owners. Went there before going to the pizzeria next door. All I can say is that the staff were so rude and the service was terrible. ALSO the smell of chemicals and nail polish was way too strong. I can smell the fumes before I even enter the door!!! I’ve been to A LOT of different salons and this one is probably the one with the strongest scent. I don’t know how that doesn’t affect the other stores around it but I’m never coming back here!!! I didn’t get my nails done on Sunday.

8.Pretty love nail spa

Address: 6317 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY 10309

(15) Reviews Pretty love nail spa:

Brianna Meneses Only good thing was that the salon was clean and nice. I asked for a certain design, the girl saw the picture multiple times and said confidently that she was able to execute the design. When she finished, it looked like she did them with her eyes closed. Looked nothing like the picture, nails are all different sizes, didnt add the gems and still charged full price for them. Only good thing was that my fingers didnt hurt after but other than that, the nails are awful. This is what I asked for and this is what I got. Disappointed.

Michelle Vuolo I was looking for a nail salon closer to home and did a lot of research to find one. This place is reasonable in price, extremely clean inside and the staff is so wonderful! My first powder gel manicure lasted 3.5 weeks so I was thrilled and excited to come back for another. Pedicure is also done very well and they constantly clean up after they finish. Looking forward to many more manicures from here!

9.Nail It Up

Address: 1267 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10302

(51) Reviews Nail It Up:

B They have a nice color selection and I like that they have the gel colors in books so that you can easily see and choose your color rather than rummaging through a basket of fake nails. They also do a decent pedicure. However - EVERY time I go there my gel manicure turns out so thick and bumpy and peels off within days. They do very thick coats of polish and multiple layers of top coat. The polish pools near my cuticles and ends up lifting when I take a shower. **Updating my review - decided to give them another try and do dip powder instead of regular gel and they did a flawless job.

Lee Virella They are nice and are very attentive. I like a good pedi and mani but they are very basic and you dont feel that what you pay for and the job performed is worth it. I like to dip my nails and the shape that was given was too bumpy. My toe nail got repaired and it looked like a duck beak. I also went for waxing and it was not properly done. They need to put more effort and give the customer a great experience and a well done work.

Beata Verkhavets I went to this nail salon for several months, and received several hard gel manicures with designs before deciding that I needed to switch to another salon. Because I have some experience with the salon, this review is going to be extensive & detailed, but hopefully itll help some of you make a decision. DISCLAIMER: I do not intend to slander Blossom Nails; I am simply giving my honest opinion and retelling my own experience over several months of receiving services from them. Why did I give this salon 1 star? Because, while there were a small number of positives, the hazardous negatives heavily outweighed them. Let me start with the positives: the services are quick, everyone is nice, less expensive for intricate nail art, and you can get some pretty nice designs here (coming from someone who loves Pinterest-style designs). On top of that, the retention was good, and I was able to go 4 weeks before a fill. Thats about it for me. Now the negatives: 1. One of the biggest reasons I had to look for a different salon - I saw absolutely nothing being sanitized here. The tools did not come out of a proper autoclave pouch, indicating they were not sanitized. They were all dusty, taken out of a little cup next to the technician. I was cut several times with unsanitized cuticle nippers, and the cut was not even disinfected. The cuticle nippers were simply wiped with alcohol and we moved on. This is extremely unsafe for someone working on delicate skin, not to mention the fact that those cuticle nippers were used on another client after me! Blood is a biohazard, and they need to be PROPERLY sanitized. 2. Sticking with the lack of safety - there were several times that I got gel ON MY SKIN. Additionally, the gel was globbed on quite thick, and I noticed for one manicure, I was able to leave dents in it and move it around!! For those who dont know - uncured gel or skin contact with gel can cause contact dermatitis, which is a severe allergy & if it is to gel, it can cause massive issues in the medical field (issues with dental implants, surgeries, etc.) 3. The sides of my nails were INTENSELY overfiled - my side walls were caved in and significantly thinner than my actual nails width. When my nail grew out, there was a terrible indentation and you could SEE where the filing stopped and the grow-out began. This should never be happening, because this also weakens the natural nail. Ive attached a photo of what Im referring to (this is my own manicure from them!) 4. More minor point that caused issues for me - my manicures were very thick & far from the cuticle, they looked grown out from day 1. Overall, the lack of safety procedures here far outweighs the pros (for me). I know that the owner is going to respond with the exact same copy-pasted response that they give everyone, but I hope they take the time to read this and at least improve their safety practices - no one should risk the integrity of their nails, skin, or safety for a beauty practice! Please do better.

Allison Cunningham Do NOT go here! It was a little dingy, but a friend recommended it, so I gave it a try. I wanted a powder dip. It looked like it was done by a toddler! There was glue all over my hands and caked underneath my nails. Lily said it wasn’t her fault… that I shouldn’t keep my nails so short! So rude!!!

Alex DAmbrosi This place is horrible. I walked into the salon today for a pedicure (I really like how the woman there does pedicures) and was told to leave by the manager because she had “people with appointments arriving.” Mind you there were 2 people total in the entire salon. In addition, I got a powder dip manicure here a few months back and it looked horrific and thick and they wouldn’t remove it as I asked them to and all they would do was slightly sand it down a bit. I had to go to a different salon to get it removed and redone properly. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else (like Hana Nails a few minutes away).

Valerie Tagliavia Just had the best leg and foot massage pedicure! Karen? spent a good 50 mins on my pedi....granted its off season and she had the time as it was not busy, but it still impressed me that she spent the extra time that she had. I dont like a hard massage and here is perfect. I tipped her well for it to show my appreciation. Glad I came. My toes are my toes....they can only look so good btw...lol

Allison Cunningham The worst manicure of my life! I needed to remove gel. They gave me a trainee named Rosa. She destroyed my nails! She left half the gel on and removed half of my real nails. They were uneven and bumpy and extremely brittle. I don’t even know how to fix them. I guess I’ll just wait weeks or months for them to grow out. Stay away!!!
1 /5
Layla G I was very dissatisfied with my nail service. I showed the tech a picture and she forgot the design, instead of starting over she convinced me that she can add the design over what was already done, that was poor decision making on my end as I should’ve insisted that she start over, i just didn’t want to be that difficult. Unfortunately not only did i not get the design i wanted, it was extremely crooked. When i showed the owners and let them know it was crooked, she said it looked “nice”. I was expecting someone to at least offer to fix it. I spent about close to 200 on my service that day Im truly disappointed in their response to my requests and my concerns. Their pedicures are great. I did ask for a special pedicure and she forgot that as well. I just feel as if the staff really isnt attentive to the customer unless youre a regular. I would go for basic manicures, designs and pedicures. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you like detailed designs. Some of the staff there just don’t have the skill yet, especially if they’re charging an extra $15 for designs, I would expect better.

Jennifer Lugo Beyond upset and Super disappointed. Got this done Monday and Tuesday they started breaking. Came here because Ive recently moved to this area and its close by but looks like I was better off going the distance for quality and care. I do the S and S to protect my nail underneath and in the process of removing the previous set, they broke my natural nail. They were not prepared with proper tools to file or buff because she had to get up multiple times to get different nail files, buffers, and drill bits and even pulled out a metro card to remove my S and S. I sat there and started taking off the acrylic with my teeth because she gave me someone new who had no idea what she was doing. Then because she was aware that I was annoyed, she offered me a massage, to which the girl was so fascinated with how the S And S was coming off the massage became half a$$ and akward. Plus, she sneezed, and I didnt want her to touch me anymore. The owner was joking about my impatience and said that the S and S I had on previously was too thick so she only gave me two coats and now my natural nails are broken along with the two coats she seemed to think was sufficient. Im beyond upset and will not return.

Marmora Patrick I don’t really do reviews but this place was very, very, very poor. Today, I decided to give this place a chance. However, I genuinely wish I didn’t. This was the worst experience I ever had. The manager so rude , not nice at all. They did not have the several colors that I preferred. She made me pay extra for absolutely nothing, when I already paid extra for powder gel, for a total of $61, they took money off of me for changing the powder gel that THEY were mistaken for and THEY gave me the wrong color but I was punished. Very poor staff, very unprepared to work and VERY unprofessional service. She is a thief and WILL take your money. Do not go to her. And I chooses for their collection but they don’t have for two colors I picked light gold and milk color both of them don’t have !

Ralph Today my daughter went to Kims Pink Nail salon to do her nails for her prom tomorrow. The owner assigned a lady named Wendy to do her nails. When she was done, my daughter noticed the nails were uneven. Some nails look different than the other, and the acrylic was Bumpy and not shaped properly. So we went to the owner and asked him if they could fix them. And he said absolutely no, We was appalled by his answer. We didnt want money back. We just wanted him to make it right and they refused. So we walked out. We went to another nail salon and the nails came out perfect, We will never go back, and we do not recommend this place to do your nails.

Jena Benik I’ve tried for years to give this place the benefit of the doubt due to its convenient location, but my experiences have been nothing short of awful. The worst incident was when they “accidentally” erased my wedding nail appointment—with a pencil—and then claimed I never booked it. That’s beyond frustrating when you’re planning for such an important day. On top of that, they routinely overbook appointments, forcing you to wait 40+ minutes even after youve confirmed a time. I’ve also had several occasions where they canceled appointments last minute, citing that they were “fully booked” when I had already scheduled in advance. Recently, the salon changed ownership and merged with Coco Nails, and it’s clear the quality has taken a significant dive. The talented technicians who made the place worth visiting are all gone, and it seems like the new owner has no regard for customer service or consistency. Save yourself the frustration and aggravation—I strongly advise looking elsewhere. It’s simply not worth it.

Treasure Brooker I came here for the SNS polish and eyebrow services. As the eyebrow service ended, the woman with the dark hair and glasses showed me her work and I noticed that half of my eyebrow is MISSING. When I pointed out the issue, she grabbed the eyebrow brush and brushed my eyebrow back and fourth as if that was going to resolve the problem. When we left the wax room, I spoke to another woman that had copper eyebrows and a copper hair cut bob. The woman who took care of me was laughing while speaking to her in another language. They didn’t seem to have much concern about their mistake and thought that since they chose not to charge me for the eyebrows that it was all resolved. No one apologized, no one seemed to care. Now I have to go home and buy an eyebrow pencil and fill the missing area in for however long. NEVER AGAIN! What an inconvenience. Do better Bebe Nails!

Sandra is amazing and works very quickly and efficiently, there hasn’t been anyone I’ve gone to on the island that can do a French nail as fast as she did. They have good equipment, I like the steamer they use and the second UV light under the table that makes curing your nails more efficient. Overall, I recommend them!

Karissa SB I was really excited to get my first Russian manicure but I left with three nails bleeding and all my cuticles cut up. My pedicure was ok at least, but my friend noticed that the lady wasnt using the machine and heard her lady repeatedly tell her to use it to which she seemed to ignore. It wasnt until my friend spoke up and told my lady that I wanted to use the machine for my pedicure, in which she replied and said "oh okay." The lady who did my nails was Lisa. Id like to come back to another person as there were clear favorites in the salon. Pic is my right hand a day later featuring 2/3 bleeding nails.
