Tankut Atuk We need a zero star option for this place. I went for a dental cleaning and they told me that I need to pay more than 200$ to a get "special cleaning" with laser and only after that I could get the free cleaning. I said I only want the free cleaning and they refused it. The dentist openly told me that they cannot do a cleaning for free (meaning what the insurance covers) and that they need to make money if theyre going to spend an hour for a cleaning. We need more regulations for dentists in this country.

Jim Sherman After a considerable wait, the female orthodontist began by spending nearly five minutes disparaging a hygienist she had worked with to the one she currently was to be assisted by. I say assisted rather than assisting as during this time I was totally ignored. When she finally got around to dealing with my issue (replacing a crown) i found her to be distracted as she again began denigrating the aforementioned hygienist. Her work seemed fine although she insisted on telling me how good my bite was when I was trying to tell her it wasn’t. Apparently she could evaluate it better from the outside than I could from actually experiencing it. Suffice to say, when scheduling future appointments I will request a different orthodontist.

Vanessa Leathem I gave this office 3 stars due to recent and past experiences. I don’t think I have seen the same dentist twice. When my hygienist retired, I could not get an appointment for months. When I did arrive for my next cleaning, I was told I wasn’t on the schedule, after having confirmed my appointment via text and phone. They did manage to get me in the next week and fortunately , I had an amazing hygienist (Robin)! Not only did my teeth feel cleaner than ever, she explained everything she did, was thorough yet efficient, gave me suggestions, and I got a “goodie bag” to take home, which I haven’t had in years. If I hadn’t had this great experience, I would be looking for another dental office.

R S My son went to the Pediatric Dentistry of Albany and his experience was amazing. The orthodontist doctor is a breath of fresh air, he always personalizes my sons visit by taking the time to connect with his. Our visit on Monday, March 26, 2025, was particularly awesome because his dental technician was Joshua, and he did an extraordinary job. He took the time to explain to my son what he was doing and why he was doing it before and during the act of applying my son’s bottom braces. This really put my son at ease. He took the time to explain a few things that would help my son care for braces and when I tell you it made all the difference it truly did. He explained it in a way that made my son not feel like the braces are taking over his life but that they are truly enhancing his life. My son googled the information he provided about applying the wax and did it himself without my assistance. Joshua, thank you for your professionalism, carefulness (connecting with my son and know the right thing to say – that is characteristic that is not taught it comes from within) and thoughtfulness!!!

It was really hard to get an appointment anywhere, but 1st Advantage Dental Colonie went out of their way to help get me into an appointment by checking all of their offices and putting me on a priority cancellation list. I got in less than a week after calling to schedule. The actual appointment was one of the best appointments Ive ever had at the dentists. Heather, my hygienist, was kind and passionate and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. She gave me an extremely thorough and gentle cleaning. Both she and Dr. Mandava went out of their way to address my concerns. If that werent enough, the office atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming. No one would have dental anxiety if all offices were like this.

Rogers Pam “PJ” Traci is the BEST!!! Super gentle. Takes away all the fears of going to the dentist and having your teeth clean! And Dr. Mandava is so nice. AND HONEST! If you dont have a problem, hes not going to make one up! And we cant forget the rest of the staff. They are always very kind from checking in to checking out. I wish I had come to them YEARS ago!

Kyle Boehmer After some research into looking for a biological dentist, I came across this practice. I was eagerly awaiting their call back. Sadly, I just had an extremely disappointing experience with Dental Wellness of Albany. I contacted them intending to pay out of pocket for services, but once I mentioned that I have Medicaid (though I wasn’t planning to use it), the receptionist became hostile. She outright refused to schedule me, stating they “don’t take Medicaid people” due to “issues in the past.” Even after I reiterated that I wanted to self-pay, she rudely denied me an appointment. What’s more disheartening is that she made this judgment without knowing my personal circumstances. I have a family member willing to cover the costs for procedures like a cone beam CT scan and any other treatments I might need to improve my dental health. Their refusal means they’ve lost out on significant business, as dental services are quite expensive. I hope to find a more professional and understanding provider elsewhere. Refusing service based on my insurance status—even when I wasn’t planning to use it—felt discriminatory and incredibly unprofessional. It’s unacceptable for any healthcare provider to judge or treat patients this way, especially when it concerns necessary medical care. I will be reporting this incident to the appropriate state boards. If you value respectful and fair treatment, I would recommend looking for another dental office

I live about 2 hours from Albany and wanted to make sure I was making the right decision with my new dentist, that was all confirmed with my arrival. It was a little abrupt but I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all, I am so embarrassed about the state of my mouth and the entire staff made me feel comfortable. Dr Hashmi reassured me multiple times and made me feel comfortable about the procedure. I have only just started but will give a final review after my dentures are in!

I received new patient forms via email and text reminder. I really appreciate their organization, quick response and follow through. It’s an easy to access location and quiet and clean space. I recieved a call back in around 10 minutes and not only was scheduled but Amber took time to make sure I understood what would happen at the 1st appointment, where the place was located, and what to expect after the first visit. She was really helpful, and even offered to book me sooner if there were any cancellations.

Raymond Crowley I entered treatment interested in a full lower implant treatment. I had only a few teeth left in my lower jaw. My goal was to obtain a full set of teeth in my lower jaw that would be secure and last for years. I began treatment in July and finished my journey in April. When I was fitted with the final appliance I felt a sense of joy. Joy to have a full set of lower teeth that was permanent and stable. The staff at Albany County Dental were outstanding. I sensed everyone’s commitment to my care. The doctor’s were exceptional and did not rush the process. They waited until my implants had fully healed and only then proceed to the final appliance. The practice offers a warm and friendly atmosphere that provided me with a sense of ease. Portia Degannes Paid for 2 dental implants all failed. First the crown fell off on one implant and then the entire butt n crown came off the other implant whilst eating. This dentist failed to do his pre exams properly on me. I had to go to the dental society to retrieve my $5000 paid. I had fillings done on one tooth and the entire thing fell out. I had to go to another dentist and to this date is working properly. I would not recommend this dentist. He’s a dentist that wants to be the Captain of all areas in dentistry. Not a people person. comes into the room no good morning how are you etc. it’s a quick fix get his dollars doctor. My daughter had the same experience with him and his failed work. She calls him Doc. Zyborkian. The dental society should look into him for all his bad practice.

Thomas Baldovin Rose Dental, under new ownership, has become very state-of -the-art. There are three 30s-something dentists there now with some amazing tools. I needed a crown recently. It was all done in one session, maybe 45 minutes total. I also needed a partial (what I would call a denture). That took three appointments over three weeks, but the partial is great. It fits so well, I need no adhesive. (Admittedly, I havent tried eating caramel or taffy yet.) Ive only met one of the dentists but I am very impressed overall. I would highly recommend this dental practice

zobry2xxx Just had my first appointment. Excellent location with plenty of parking. The clinic is modern and nicely decorated with open air atmosphere. The reception area is warm and welcoming. The staff are professional and friendly. The hygienist did an excellent job and gave me good advice. The doctor was thorough, knowledgeable and up to date with the latest high tech tools relevant to dentistry.

Alexis Holmes Words can not describe this Amazing staff and super caring doctors. I have not been to the dentist in about 10 years due to fear and cost. Unfortunately I was at my wits end with this toothache. Come to find out, I have a severe infection. The receptionists were kind enough to get me fitted in to a same day appointment, So I didnt have to wait in pain anymore. The doctor himself gave me a tour of the office showed me all the tools that he used just to reasure me i was in a safe place. Dr. Erik took the time to make me more comfortable and give me options for treatment. The care and the time that he and his generally concerned, staff took with me was just amazing and comforting. Of course i will be back and i cant get over how much he did for me on my first visit.

Bill Casey Was sent here by my regular dentist because of the expertise and higher level 3d imaging equipment. The staff was very welcoming and Doctor Sean Ference and the tech staff took the time to fully explain their testing and procedures they would follow. This was complicated by not seeing a clear cause of my infection issue, but Dr Ference laid out a treatment plan that he was then able to carry out right away without a return visit...and I know my treatment threw off the schedule, but I didnt feel hurried and I greatly appreciated the personal care. Additionally, the required prescriptions were called in quickly and follow-up office visits have already been scheduled...very professional all the way around!

I was very impressed all the workers there. Dr Sean did all he could to explain all he was doing and did. And after exam explained what needed to be done and his recommendations. Liss Bustop I have yet to get through financing this, but I can confirm that for my initial appointment the staff (Geneva, D.A., and Dr. "B" DDS) were incredibly kind, helpful, informative, and friendly. They took the time to explain things like no other DDS office Ive been to and were extremely knowledgeable. The staff have great rapport together and you can tell they enjoy working here, so I think it is a truly great environment. Right now they are helping me look into how to work with insurance to best understand what procedures might be covered, and I really appreciate the help. I cant say Im looking forward to surgery, exactly, but I know I will be well taken care of when the time comes.

Guilderlandguy I have been a patient here for many years, in fact two of my dentists have retired. The staff is very helpful and friendly (thanks Brenda) and the hygienists and assistants are reassuring and accommodating (Sophia, Angel). The parking is on-street, but the office is in a quirt residential neighborhood. But by far, the best thing about the practice is Dr. Dude, Dr. Fox’s dog (Dr. Fox is pretty good too). What a great idea to have a nice dog in a dental office especially because I gave up nitrous oxide! Not that I like coming here but I couldn’t imagine a better experience elsewhere.

Jessie Piacente Last week I had my 1st cleaning in this office and the hygienist was wonderful. 0 pain in my gums! The receptionist was simply lovely. Then, today, I had to get a filling done for the 1st time in this office. My appointment was at 2:30 and wasn’t finished until 4:30. An emergency came into the office. The doctor needed to tend to that patient. That is completely understandable but I wasn’t told. I was sitting in the dentist chair for an extra 1/2 hr not knowing what was going on. When the dentist came back to me to finish my filling, “I said to him, “ this is my longest appointment ever.” He took off his gloves and left the room. It was very uncomfortable. He came back and he showed me a picture of the emergency patient that came in. He was rude and very aggressive with his response. No one told me that an emergency came in. I sat in the chair with a terrible taste in my mouth. He also joked at the fact that my mouth doesn’t open wide enough. So he had to use a mouth block to keep my mouth open to fill my filling. He was not compassionate and he knew that I already had terrible experiences with previous dentists.

I have total confidence with this office. The pricing seems a bit more competitive than my prior practice. Its worth the hour drive.

Mike Jonathan I don’t usually write long review, but I feel the need to share my experience to warn others. I had a root canal done at this dental office. At first, everything seemed fine, but about two years later, I started feeling serious pain. It got so bad that a visible bubble formed on my face. I went to another dentist and was told that the root canal had not been properly cleaned or sealed. Bacteria had been left behind, which caused a deep infection. I ended up needing surgery just to clean out the area and correct the damage. When I returned to them to let them know what happened, I was brushed off. I was told they “did their best” and that this kind of thing “can happen,” even though the second dentist clearly explained this was due to improper work. What’s worse is they make all patients sign paperwork on the first visit that basically protects them from any liability — even if the doctor makes a mistake, you’re the one left dealing with it. Please be cautious. Please be aware. Please consider finding another dentist. No one should have to go through this pain, stress, or cost because of someone else’s negligence.

Karys Gutierrez I was getting all my dental work done here for years. Randomly I receive a phone call that they are recommending me out because I need “sedation” for work which was not true. They randomly decided to lie on my chart and wouldn’t work with me to figure out the problem. I got cleanings, fill ins, even got my wisdom teeth taken out here and never once had any issue. The dentist that did my cleanings and fill ins was Dominican so we even bonded over our culture. Never thought they would randomly lie on me like that. Super weird and unprofessional.
