Diane Stal I think I have been to every hair stylist in the are. No one seems to listen. I have silver hair and I asked for some highlights. I came out looking like a skunk with chunks of nearly black hair. I decided to try the only salon in Hastings that I skipped. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt so cozy and comfortable. The salon is small, but cozy and tastefully appointed. Samar was so personable, I felt like I had known her forever. I told her I wanted a spikey pixie cut and she began the shaping process which will take a few haircuts due to my previous terrible hair cut. When Samar was done, she asked if I wanted some highlights. I agreed and I cannot tell you how beautiful it came out. OMG. It is so soft and subtle. My hair just glows. It makes me feel younger! I cannot wait to go back in a few weeks for the continuation of my transformation. Love you Samar-see you soon!

Nora I love Samar ! We come to visit from LA and she always is so accommodating and she really knows her stuff! She opened the salon on a Sunday when she is normally closed to get us in before we leave! I have had the nicest highlights with her - none of the fancy LA salons can do what she does with her magic! She gets you any color you like and your hair is always healthy and shining!!! You can wash it for months and no brasiness or change in color! She is a real color magician ! Love love love her!

Andrew A. Jefferson Im very picky with getting my hair cut. My regular barber died 10 years ago. For 7 years I bounced around from stylist to stylist, until I discovered Corona on Instagram. He is one of the best stylists that Ive ever had. I wont go anywhere else to get my hair cut. Ive always been very happy with his work. Ive noticed that his cuts grow out beautifully. His price point for a mens cut is very reasonable. Ive never had a problem getting an appointment, and I love his web -based scheduling platform. Most of all, the end result is that I ALWAYS get a great haircut.

E Y I took my daughter here for her first salon haircut on a mommy daughter date, and they did not disappoint! Allison was so kind and made my daughter feel comfortable and special. She curled my daughters hair, which she didnt have to. I got an excellent cut, exactly how I asked for it. The salon itself was clean and someone was promptly sweeping up cut hair. We are both thrilled to have found this place and will be back in a few months!

Melissa S I went in once to get a Balayage done and didnt get what I wanted at all. The girl was super nice, but the colors were just off. I emailed them about possibly getting a new color done, and they reached out to me, willing to fix it and got me right in. I so appreciated it and will be coming back to them.. Overall, it was a great experience and the effort that was put forth to help me get the look I was going for was so good.

Jennifer Fahey Split Endz is home to a very professional and talented staff. I live in VA, and I try to time my visits to New York to include a color and cut at Split Endz. Kim is is very creative, and can tailor any look and style to meet the customers needs. I highly recommend going to Split Endz, and I can only rate this salon a five out of five. I do not agree with the review that states that this salon is cheap in price. Their prices are competitive, and yes you do get what you pay for here, and that is a good thing. Katrina Lee If you need a buzz cut or something else similarly easy, thats fine. Theyre good at doing cute hairstyles for children, but for adult and teenage women Id recommend finding somewhere nicer and more chic, unless you really are looking for the cheapest cut in town and are ready to get what you pay for.

Charlotte Gilbert I went to Salon M for some highlights. My hair had been dry and had darkened a lot. My Stylist Beatrix was very sweet and talkative, and that’s just beginning. Her talent needs to be studied!! My highlights came out great, I got an amazing blowout afterwards, and to top it off she curled my hair to look for elegant and pretty. Alexandra Birbrower Alex Milano has been cutting and coloring my hair for a few years now, and I will never go back to another salon. She listens to what I want and delivers every time! Other stylists have worked with me and delivered beautifully as well. Alex and some of the other stylists have cut my daughter’s hair and have always made her happy. Heather Ann I strongly urge folks to avoid Spruce Salon if they value clear communication and kindness from their hair stylist. I saw Paula for a short haircut and am devastated by the results. And I’m just as disappointed by the way Paula handled the situation when I voiced my concerns. The final result of my haircut is completely different than what I requested. I showed Paula a photo of the shape I was aiming for, and asked for my hair to be cut a bit longer than the photo. Unfortunately she cut my hair drastically shorter! Even worse, the back is uneven and looks like it was cut with garden shears. When I expressed my disappointment, Paula told me that I would never be happy and refused to take any responsibility for cutting my hair poorly. She claimed to have followed the photo exactly, but that’s simply not true and I have the photos to show that. I even offered to send her the reference photo again so that she could see how drastically different it was from my final style, but she refused to look at it. Most importantly, she handled my hair poorly and failed to cut my hair in a way that suited its texture. The result is a terrible mess. Paula also seemed very distracted and left me to attend to other clients multiple times during my appointment, so I’m not surprised that this resulted in a horrible haircut. But again there was no receptivity to this concern. Unfortunately I learned that Paula is not a stylist who is interested in receiving honest feedback from her clients, and she was unwilling to acknowledge the issue. This is not a stylist who wants to help her clients, especially after having caused them distress. I feel strongly that customers should be treated with more kindness than this. Paula is clearly uninterested in keeping clients and instead treats them disrespectfully when they voice their concerns. If Paula had handled the situation differently then this would just be a heartbreaking haircut, which is bad enough. But she has lost a client and gained an honest review. (The photo of the brown hair is the reference photo. The other photo is the choppy mess I received.)

Ann Israel I have been coming to Spruce Salon for a number of years and my experience has been the same every time - ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I am always treated as if I am someone very special. Paula - the wonderful and talented owner - has always been so kind, friendly, and accommodating to me and I always get so many compliments on my hair color and cut. On top of all of that, the salon is beautiful and comfortable. What more could you ask for? I STRONGLY RECOMMEND SPRUCE SALON!!!
