Jalissa Rufino I decided to give this place a try as I pass it everyday on my way home from work and I am so glad I did! The young lady who did my nails was super sweet, patient and professional. She did an exceptional job on my pedicure and my nails came out perfect just in time for my vacation. I’m very particular about my nails & she did them exactly how I always like them. She took her time with my both my manicure and pedicure which I loved. I hate rushed service. The salon was very clean and well kept. I will definitely be returning!

Taiesha Almestica Went there with my daughter to get tips for her graduation. 3 workers one was doing a pedicure and the other two sitting around. Was told they dont have time to do tips. ITS 3P.M ON A WEDNESDAY. Never had that happen before. Any salon would be happy to get new customers. Never again....

Matthew Knott My daughter had such a great experience here getting her nails done for the first time earlier today. The woman who took care of her was kind, patient, and very professional. She helped my daughter pick out a color and explored options with her. She also took her time doing her nails and we really loved how they came out. Very clean salon and soothing atmosphere with relaxing music playing throughout our visit. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning!

allison beach I went to Jennifer years ago when I lived in NY.. Since moving to PA I do my nails myself. I was in NY yesterday and decided to find her. I did and she squeezed me in. I got my nails done by her again and she is the only other person I would ever trust with my nails beside myself ( she died great washin too). I explained to her the shape I wanted ( a mix between almond,, square and coffin shape) and she understood and did it the exact way I wanted. Very clean and sterilized everything used. Phenomenal color selection. Friendly priced well. I will definitely be going back all the way from PA.

Alex Kuzma When my nail technician moved to a farther location I decided to look for a new place near my house. Based on Google reviews, I went to Lava Nail. My first technician was Kiki for the powder gel nails. She damaged my nail and I have to take a break for two month to recover. Decided to give another chance and ask for an experienced person. Hanna did my nails and after two weeks two nail covers fell off. Not coming back for a dip powder. However, the pedicure done by Lisa was amazing. One of the best technicians that Ive had in the past. Therefore, for a dip powder 1 star, for the pedicure 5 stars. Average is 3 stars.

Tracy Demarest I sought a new salon for my wedding nails in February 2023. I found and received excellent service from Nicole for my manis and Jessie for my pedis. My nails always look great. I have acrylic nail tips and my toes get gel polish. What a time saver to not have drying time. Shoes on and off I go. Never a smudge, chip, or lost tip. I go every 2-3 weeks for fills depending on my schedule and events. The salon is clean and the staff is friendly. They can be very busy here. I always book in advance and appreciate that they are on time and not over booked. I have not utilized any of their other salon services.

Mary Zaki I’ve visited this place several times for convenience since it’s the closest salon to where I live, but every time I go I leave disappointed with the result. The last few times I have left with cuts on at least one of my fingers. Avoid this place at all costs.

Persephone Dgheim All I can say is DO NOT GET THE SPA pedicures, they are a total scam. I requested the lemon pedicure which was supposed to include a hydrating mask, a lemon scrub, a 15 minute message and hot stones. The only thing I got as advertised was the 15 min foot massage. The mask the lady used was from a tub, it looked to be one of those 5 dollar mud masks you get in those big jars from amazon. Other than that she used only a very small amount on my legs and didnt even wash my legs off first. the scrub she used was not lemon, it was the regular scrub they use for all pedicures. the hot stone treatment consisted of rubbing a warm stone on my leg for 5 seconds each leg. now I will say that my legs are feeling smooth but my issue is that other than the massage the spa pedicure that cost $55 did not give what was advertised. they should be upfront about what products they actually use on you and for 55 dollars I feel I should have gotten more. They also were very hesitant to turn on the massage on the pedicure chair. Its a nice hygienic looking salon but theres room for improvement.

Ashley S So it took weeks for me to decide where am I going to go for my nails now that I moved to the island. This was a quick walk nearby so I decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did!! Everyone is very nice and sweet which is what you need going to a nail salon. It was also very calm. I did a gel manicure and gel pedicure for $70. The pedicure was amazing, it came with a scrub and massage and I really needed it lol! I’m so happy I came here, this is now my new spot :) 10/10

June Truth Wonderful customer service. The guy in charge is really nice and listens to what you need. The manicurist Ping did a wonderful job and was always careful not to hurt me or cause me pain (I needed to remove my gel nails) Prices are reasonable and they maintain safe distance all the time. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they didnt check my temperature with a digital temperature scanner when I arrived. I think all salons should do that given the current circumstances. Other than that, they are doing a really good job.

JASON LIN Everyone here is so sweet and their pedicures are the best. I came here on 7/6 since today is the first day of their nail salon reopening and I was one of the first ones to go in. The safety precautions that they took and the barriers that they made are so clever and I feel safe when I’m in their salon.

Mel Jimenez I just went there a week ago, I went with no appointment in a busy season. The girl who attended me was Jenny. She did such a great job and the waiting worth it. The time took about 1:30 min. And the price is way better than the other nails places close by.

Marina Shrayman Love this place! All of the ladies are great but Fabby & Maya are exceptional, they both do an amazing manicure & pedicure. No matter how many people are waiting, they will always take their time with the current client and not rush through like other salons tend to do. My cuticles are awful and they grow like weeds, both ladies clean them up to perfection even though it probably takes an extra 5-10 minutes. The pedicure is my favorite, they use an AMAZING sugar scrub that feels delicious during the massage!! Walk-ins are welcome but I would suggest making an appointment. Thank you Magic Nail for always making my hands & feet look like a million bucks!

Berthaa Bee When I tell you dirty!!!! equipment I was just shocked . when I was getting a pedicure tool that she used on the lady. Too seat over All she did is wiped them down with water from the tub. she took those towels that she wiped the ladies feet with and she wiped down the seat with it cross. I was so scared never ever go back there. nothing was sanitized nothing. They honestly needed an inspector to go in there. I don’t know how these people stay open.

I needed powder nails removed and this was done very skillfully. They were very quick and very professional. They were very detail oriented and the place seemed very clean.

There is a whole nail that has the gel manicure about to be removed, my gel manicure usually lasts a good few weeks. Also, my cuticles were really badly bruised for like the first 5 days. Absolutely awful and I was hoping to come back again but I won’t be. I can’t believe I paid $80 for this.

Harriet Wow Horrible. Maybe cause I am new to this location but that’s not how you make business if you don’t make customers nails nice and beautiful. I literally had the easiest thing for the lady to do. She was probably the owner since she didn’t have apron on. But it’s gel manicure and regular pedi. My nails on my hand looks so ugly. I am never going back and I wanted to give this location a shot but guess what. I am going somewhere else. And someone even recommended me this location. Would never go back and I hope no one ever goes back to them

Jessica Rios Hands down - the best place on Staten Island to get your nails done, and #1 pedicure spot! It is very clean and professional. They give you a free massage while drying / having gel polish applied. Outside of the impeccable service, my favorite thing is that my nail techs are always ready at the precise time of my appointment. Photoed are the designed nails I had gotten this summer for my Universal (Harry Potter world) and Disney trip!

Taylor I recently visited this salon and was disappointed by my experience. I had heard there were new owners, but it seems the staff dynamics havent changed not sure if they are not happy with the new owners I went in for a pedicure and specifically asked for a French pedicure they left old red polish on every single toe that I came in with. Also the white lines were done horribly. I only noticed it at the end, as I usually leave happy from my visits. Additionally, my father came in for an eyebrow waxing and was left waiting in a room for 30 minutes. When the staff finally realized he was still there, they laughed instead of apologizing, which felt completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Overall, I left feeling very dissatisfied and unhappy with the service. Will not be returning!

Socorro Puzo After seeing the google reviews I took myself and my daughters to get our nails done. My nails are baby pink dip powder and my daughter had acrylic with hand design. My daughter showed them a picture and they got it spot on. I was not disappointed. This salon is extremely clean and organized. My nail tech Ling was wonderful. I will definitely be coming back.

Julianna Meyer This is hands down the best nail salon on Staten Island! Jasmine and Eva are so attentive and polite. Jasmine takes her time to make sure every detail of your nails is perfect. The salon is so clean, beautiful, and new. I got powder tips with a design, and it was exactly what I asked for!! The shape, color, and design of my nails are perfect!! The best salon and the best nail techs!! 11/10 would recommend!!! I will definitely be back!!

The salon is 10/10 clean, the staff is so nice, and they have so much services to choose from. I also got a 20 minute massage and fell right asleep. I will definitely be a loyal customer here.

Olivia the BEST nail salon I have ever been to. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my manicure was exactly how I wanted, including trialing colors/glitters before doing my nails. They also take the time to shape your nails how you like and check in throughout the process to make sure it’s looking as you want. Everyone is so kind and the space is so clean. Would highly recommend!

Previous review 202: Over a week old and still looks very good. Sns dip powder. They are very thorough in caring for the care of the Mail which is more important than just the design as most places only care about.

Cerina Shao Finally got my nails done at Mama’s Nail and Spa after coming across their aesthetically-managed Instagram. Their posts are so nicely curated and the salon is no less. There are a variety of snacks and beverages offered to customers, even a Keurig machine for your use! Nail polishes are nearly arranged and adorned with a variety of gold and marble decor, and some succulents. The most eye-catching part was the glitter filled polish bottles, resembling a giant nail lacquer bottle. I came in unsure if I wanted dip powder or gel. Malsha helped me weigh the pros and cons for the two types of manicures, but I went for the gel. She was patient with me when I couldn’t decide which shade of pink I wanted. She was honest about which color suited my skin tone and which shades clashed. Having really short nails make it really difficult to paint; most times the polish ends up on my skin and as a result, premature lifting. I left the salon with a clean mani and nothing on my cuticles! This is my first time at Mama’s and it definitely won’t be my last. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the ambience is not like the other nail salons where it’s loud and smells like fumes. The interior is so chic, it really felt like a treat getting my nails done here. I definitely will be back to do a pedicure so I can take advantage of their 15% off soft opening promo.

Vibes Unsanitary conditions at this nail salon. Stay far away unless you are looking to get toe nails fungus. The DOHMH needs to pay a visit and investigate! Ive witnessed how employees rush to take the next customer and do not sanitize equipment they just finished using on the previous client! Do not recommend!

Catherine Mendez-Severino Beware if you go within an hour of their closing time. I asked for tips and was told by the employee that she wouldn’t be done until 30 minutes past their closing time so she didn’t want to provide the service. I needed my nails done, therefore I asked what she recommended and she said powder gel. I was treated rushed and ended up getting cut so badly and painfully that my manicure could not even be complete. Bleeding wouldn’t stop. And she burned multiple times with the e-file. I should have left, but I needed a polish change on the toes as well and was attempted to get charged $30 for a gel polish change. A gel pedicure is $40. How does that make sense. When I complained, it was reduced to $25. Ridiculously overpriced and unprofessional. This person clearly has poor skills and no experience. My cuticles hurt so bad for 2 days. Never returning and 100% do not recommend.

Michelle Tam Best nail salon on Staten Island!!! I have recently discovered this newly opened nail spa near my house and this is my fav. Ive been to so many nail salons on the island, Manhattan and even outside of NYC when I used to travel for work a lot. This is such a gem. Clean place, top notch service and what makes it stand out from all the other nail salons is that they are there to provide an "experience" not just trying to provide fast service and onto the next person. Their technicians actually take their time to provide the best service possible and perfect every design you request. Highly recommended.

Niki Cruz I had an excellent experience at Green Hill Nails. Right when you walk into the salon you’re transported to a relaxing and calm setting. The salon is clean, modern, with the latest salon tools. The hospitality is unlike any other salon on the island. I was greeted with a smile and offered a complimentary drink. The iced coffee was great! As for the nails, they’re stunning! Tony did such an amazing job and paid attention to detail. You can tell that the technicians really care about the work they do. I never once felt like I was being rushed out. The designs are out of this world and the price was fair, too. I’m definitely coming back!

Everyone was so patient and kind and helped me every step of the way. Nails look fantastic and you could tell they are very familiar with all different techniques and designs. Pedicure was done with extreme care and they prepped my nails so well before the polish. Everyone was so polite and pleasant. Would recommend this salon to everyone.

Jenny does an amazing job on my toes, always making sure that each toe looks amazing and has no discomfort. Sandy does my powder dip nails and does a stupendous job each time. Highly recommend making an appointment as they are very busy.

Alexandra C First off, I asked if they did acrylic tips, they said yes and then proceeded to do gel tips. Second, my thumb nail completely snapped 2 days after getting my nails done. I live over an hour away, a waste of 60.00. had to go to a different salon near my home to fix.

Claudia B BAD QUALITY polish, BAD QUALITY service, and RUDE manager. AVOID! I went in today to Q SPA NAILS (What they go for in person), for the first time and this will be my last.. I asked for a spa pedicure and made sure they had massage chairs before going in because thats what I was going for. I went in and told the lady RIGHT AWAY that her chair was not working (Before service started), they told me it would eventually work so proceeded with service. Chair never worked after I told her twice. Half way through the service, I finally got to speak to the manager who switched me to another chair. New chair turned off after 1 minute. I told the manager that neither of chairs were working and she said she would let the company know then laughed at me ... NEVER AGAIN.

Limra Ilyas I had a terrible experience at Mohwa Nail Salon for a Brazilian wax. I called around 2:30 to schedule for 4:15, arrived at 3:50, and wasn’t taken to a room until almost 5:00. Then, the technician told me she didn’t even do Brazilians and I had to wait for someone else. When the wax finally started, it was a nightmare. The wax kept sticking to my skin instead of the strip, making it way more painful and ineffective. To make things worse, the technician wasn’t wearing gloves, and she kept pulling her mask down and putting the wax stick in her mouth. That was incredibly unprofessional and unhygienic. The whole process was slow and sloppy—she was waxing tiny sections at a time, and I was bleeding in places because the wax wasn’t coming off properly. I asked for the butt strip, and she only did part of it, leaving the actual strip untouched. And to top it all off, she left a chunk of wax on me and just smeared petroleum jelly over it, which was just a weird fix. For a $40 service, this was a complete disappointment. I left feeling sore, sticky, and not fully waxed. I want $40 credit to use on SOMETHING ELSE because I am not getting waxed here again.

Bree Gomer I’m giving this salon 3 stars only because my pedicure was great. My acrylic nails done by Nancy are terrible. Way too thick, bumpy and uneven. I have glue all under my nails and polish beyond my nails. Waste of money and time.

Jennifer Langell This review is a couple weeks late but still important. I have been searching all over Staten Island for a new nail salon because no one does a proper gel manicure anymore. I tried this place. Honestly I don’t think I’ve had a WORSE experience so far. Upon entering, I wasn’t even given the opportunity to have the manicure with the woman I specifically made the appointment with and told to go sit at the first station that opened up. The manicure lasted 18 minutes. I times it. Never in my life! I was beyond disgusted. The filing job was horrendous. I had to keep making her fix the filling, which I don’t like to do. It started to chip a few days later. NEVER AGAIN! DO NOT GO HERE!

Sara Rehart I would go back because my tech did a nice job with my nails and the spot is clean and spacious. My only caveat, which happens with all the Asian-owned salons, is they are not out right with their pricing and rush you along. When I was getting rung out, she said she would have to charge me tax for using a card, fine, but she failed to mention the service charge of $2. Also, a new acrylic set is posted as $35 but she failed to mention the $10 uncharge of using gel polish and just went ahead with it. Just be honest and clear re: pricing, you do a good job, and customers will come back.

Christina Valdes I constantly rave about this place to all of my friends and family! The staff is so friendly and the place is extremely clean. I am always very happy with my nails after each appointment. I get UV gel fill-ins and they never break on me. I’ve gone over a month without a fill-in in the past and the nails have stayed on. The designs are always amazing and I highly recommend for you to go there.
