Xyomara Maldonado Dana completely transformed my hair after a previous stylists poor work. From the moment I sat in her chair, I felt comfortable and confident in her abilities. Im thrilled with the results – my hair was a mess, and Dana fixed it beautifully. I feel so much more confident now, and I will absolutely be returning to her. Dana is amazing! Lauren Holt Val’s color + hair studio is the best! I went in with one of the worst color jobs I’ve ever received and Val was able to fix my hair and left me feeling confident again. The color is beautiful, her technique is perfect, and she truly cares about her work! I will absolutely be going back. Cannot recommend them enough!

Milena Richie I want to thank the Salon for the excellent professional hair stylists. Xheneta is the only master who agreed to take on the job of getting me out of black. I coloured my hair black for years. When I wanted to lighten my tone, not a single master for several years took on my lightening, considering it dangerous for my hair and saying that they did not take such a risk. Only Xheneta showed her professionalism. Im very pleased with the result. See what the result was after two visits with a period of 6 months between visits. I am very satisfied and happy. Quinn Burke Sara’s Beauty Salon is a Bronx gem, and one of the many reasons I love the BX as a recent transplant. The owner, Valmira, is so warm, welcoming, and talented. Even just after my first time going, she can read my mind about what I want. Whether is a simple cut or a total coloring, she is incredibly thorough and thoughtful. She considers both what you are looking for and what is best for your the health of your hair. I am so glad I found her!!

LAVITON Valmira has hands of gold. She repaired my damaged bleached hair!! She uses very good expensive products that allowed me to maintain my healthy hair! And when it comes to cutting she is an Expertise!!! My hair grows so fast now that she has cut it. It’s like she has miracle hands. She is a very sweet person, she will always give you complete honesty when it comes to your hair. She is not greedy for money, she will not do your hair if she knows it’ll get damaged. I love her honesty. I come all the way from the lower east side, because she is absolutely amazing! I recommend my friends that live in Florida and they come from Florida to come and do their hair with her. 10/10!!!

Omara T. Aguilar Valmira is an amazing person and stylist. I’ve been wanting to get a haircut for such a long time now, but due to school and work, I haven’t been able to find the right time. I freaking love this place! My daughter has really thick curly, frizzy hair and she came out of that place with her hair straighter than I have ever seen it! We used the hair mask that she recommended us and our hair came out so beautiful, looking healthy and full of life like I don’t even know what to say! They are so friendly and welcoming. Helen G honestly best place to get hair done, i had a couple of reference pictures and a goal and mandy got it done for me quickly and perfectly! i wanted burgundy hair and she gave me the exact color i wanted, styled and cut my hair the way i like it, and i came out a brand new person.

Pamela Ezell Ive been here three times for a shampoo, deep conditioning and blow dry. Terrific service and I like each of the stylists whove help me (including Mira and Orian). Reasonable. Very convenient for me since they are open on Mondays and few salons in this neighborhood are.

Megan Cloidt I had a great experience with Orian for a haircut and blow out. This was my first time going to Mandys. I showed Orian some photos of my old cut and she spent a lot of time asking me questions and looking at my hair to determine the best approach to what I wanted. She was very methodical, but also so nice and friendly!! I booked another appointment with her for highlights and a cut. Looking forward to it :)

BOY was it relaxing ! my moms was falling asleep as the hair stylist Oriana cut her hair. Cassandra Lella I have been coming to Sonia for about three years. I’m very bad at maintaining my hair in between cuts. When I come to her, I walk out feeling like a new person! She cuts my hair the perfect length, adds the perfect amount of color. I always leave satisfied. It’s been a year since my last cut. When I left today I felt so refreshed and beautiful. V. Williams (THEY RENT THEIR CHAIRS OUT TO UNLICENSED “hairstylist”) Paid a deposit to secure an appointment for a braid style that I NEVER received. The stylist failed to meet in the salon at her chair for the services several times we communicated. It’s ghetto and unprofessional to take my money then HIDE or not communicate for whatever personal reasons. I should’ve got a REFUND at least THIS SALONS A SCAM! horrible service

Upon arriving there is no waiting time because an appointment is first scheduled online for your specific hair care concerns. Appointments can also be scheduled by phone. When scheduling a specific hair specialist is assigned for the entire duration of your visit. My hair was styled and cut exactly as I requested. Not shorter or uneven by a rushed stupid.The following day, my hair texture is better than I expected.(My hair was extremely damaged by a previous fast talking hairdresser). I was provided with a variety of treatments to choose from. This information also included an explanation of the chemical ingredients used. I was impressed by these concerns to avoid any possibility of allergic reaction from exposure to a product. Last but not least is the bright, clean, relaxing environment with low level music playing in the background. Professional- pleasantly polite-precise. Lady & J’Style Beauty Salon is a keeper for my haircare. Period.

Ivy Velez They saved my hands and feet. I went through a terrible experience in this other salon to the point I had water bubbles around my cuticles that popped in my hands. I felt so ashamed of my hands but they made me leave with my confidence restored. When they waxed my eye brows I had like three scabs that took some days to heal but besides that this review is more based on my gel manicure and gel pedicure. I would recommend this establishment.

Rous FRF Creo que muyyy pocas veces he escrito bad reviews but in this case I had to. I was trying to find a salon close by and I read the nice reviews so I gave it a try. The lady that dry my hair was really nice and had very good technique I think her name was Janet but I’m not sure. But the girl that washed my hair was a VERY SLOW, it looked like she was learning and she was upset cause I’m 15 mins she only did 3 rolos, I don’t mind if she was learning but she was even putting the biggest rollos, honestly I was getting anxious cause she was doing it so wrong so I said “I thought was going to be in the hair dryer by now” but not in a bad way. This girl started doing the rolos even worse and fast and when she put the redecilla she did it reallyyy tight and kept asking if that was ok. I said it’s tight and she made it tighter I didn’t want to make a show or anything like that so I let it go and the other later was embarrassed. I think the name of the girl was Eli, but the sad part about this is business owner hires people to help them with their business and people like this only make clients run from that business. Again if she was learning it’s ok todo el mundo empieza por algo, but the bad attitude is what was really wrong. Even though the lady that did dry my hair did I good job. I don’t like to be in a place where I can’t be treated right.

Aishat S I respect the barber here and have known him since I was a child. Hes cool with everyone here and is apparently great at his job. However, for the ladies, the Spanish ladies here are ridiculously rude and give terrible services! I notice the Spanish customers are taken as more of a priority. Im simply getting my hair washed and blow dryer and Ive already been here for 2 hours. They left dry conditioner sitting in my hair for 30 minutes as of this writing and now I have to wait as she attends to 2 other Spanish customers before she continues mine. Now I understand why my sister stopped coming here. Today will be my last time too. Edit: I didnt mention, but these ladies were talking bad about me and underestimating the fact that I was not Spanish. I took 3 years of Spanish and knew exactly what they were saying. This is such disgusting behavior since I was kind the first moment I walked in. Then they kept repeating the price of the hair style at least 5 times as if I couldnt afford it..

My go to hairdresser is Johanna but I have done my hair with the other hairdressers before and they do beautiful hair as well. Everything is done well. Everybody is professional and nice. Also if I do say so myself the prices are very good . And the nail stylist … I love herrrr. She does nails so beautifully. I’ve never seen someone do the shape of nails so perfect . Macy Anderson Long wait time on Saturdays and Fridays, service is ok. They are really bad with time, and delegating what tasks they should do first. They spent hours blow drying, so if you go for haircut you’ll be waiting for two hours, at least. Price is normal. Long time for haircuts, they go really slowly. Do not go for highlights on already dyed hair, they forget about your service and mess up. Maribel is the good one but she is not there often.

davey smilez I have been going to this salon for about 2-3 years to be getting treated like I was nothing. The hairstylists there made me look like i did something to them. The energy was way off. I got skipped on purpose by a stylist who so happened to not like me, all because I criticized their skills on hair styling. They still had an issue about it after returning to that salon months later. I realized they weren’t going to do a good job on my hair due to their disdain for me so I just left. Never going back there for anything again!

Elsie H I was referred to Kim by a friend a few years ago and I will never go anywhere else. I haven’t been to Kim in a long time since having my baby but when I get back into doing my nails, she’s going to be my first stop. I love how quick, efficient, friendly and clean everything is. Alex also does amazing pedicures. Kim can execute anything you ask for and if she’s hesitant, her husband can take over and provide exactly what you ask for, if not better! I got to the salon at 9:38am. She wasn’t open. Another young lady, sitting in her car, was waiting before me. I waited for TWO hours and no one showed up. I don’t remember it ever being this long of a wait when I was coming here to get my hair done. This is bad!! Losing money for the business.

Fatimah Calder The service was great! I felt really comfortable getting my hair washed. The stylist was a great conversationalist. My only issue was the price change, I asked how much a wash and just a blow out ( no silk press) would be on the phone and was told $67 then got there and it was $88. Besides that the experience was great. If you want the basics I would advise to go somewhere a bit cheaper but if your getting an actual silk press I would advice to book since they are natural hair focused and won’t give you heat damage.

Lauren Stockmon Brown Fantastic establishment! As a tender-headed person , I decided to do traditional micro locs and I love my decision. It is an expensive decision. However, I am incredibly happy with my investment. I will never have to do blow outs / washes / dryers in the same way. The process is less exhausting and painful. As someone who has come from doing box braids for the last few years, and now is doing micro locs—- this experience has been incredible. I am working with two+ cosmetologists who are experts in their field and passionate about hair care education. I would HIGHLY recommend making the switch to micro locs and working with this staff to do so. The process is exciting and worth the investment if you’re interested in pursuing your locs journey.

Tamara Thompson My mom and I had such a wonderful experience at the Nubian Hair Studio! We started off with a consultation with Key and told her what type of style we were each looking to do. She was thorough and made sure we understood what the process involved. Key worked on both of us. My mom decided to do a new color and cut to a shorter style. I decided to get crocheted passion twist. Everyone was so friendly and very professional and the owner Alice made us feel at home. I would definitely recommend this place and if I could go beyond five stars I would! They work on all hair types especially natural, and they are skilled in different types of hair styles. Make sure you call ahead to make an appointment because they are in demand but they will try their best to work with you.

Chidi Nwosu Absolutely wonderful experience. In my whole life, I have not been to anyone better than Alicia. I havent been able to take care of my own hair for a long time due to ongoing health issues, and I went there anticipating to lose all of my hair, so I was expecting to get a big chop, but I didnt have to lose all of my hair thanks to Alicia. She gave me a detox, a protein treatment, and a hydration treatment as well. She also gave me encouragement in dealing with my health issues, and was very accommodating when I informed her of my struggles. The thing I appreciate the most is that Alicia always takes the time to show me what she is doing, what products she is using in my hair at each step, and explains why shes doing it. Even more, she gave me instructions on how to care for my hair myself at home, and optional products I can get for myself (if Id like). Shes not a product pusher, and she wants to get her clients to a point where they can do regular hair maintenance on their own. She is a masterclass in customer care, and if you really want to get your moneys worth, then visit this shop.

Uli_u Gloria has 100% helped with my hair journey. She has always been very kind and patient with me, using her knowledge and expertise to inform me of ways to keep my hair as healthy as can be. Most stylist would see a problem but not let you know until severe damage is done. However, since Glo has been doing my hair, it as improved in length and body and I owe the progress to her for sure. I highly recommend her because she truly cares about the longevity of healthy natural hair which is truly hard to find these days.
