Sarah Ertel Super disappointed with the service and the way the stylist made me feel invalidated about my concerns. Don’t go here if you’re looking for freehand balayage, because you might get a standard full foil with a root melt instead. The stylists here are talented, but I didn’t feel heard at all when it came to what I wanted with my service. I presented pictures that were rooted blonde, hand painted styles. Bright pops of color and a melted look. I left the salon with almost the exact same hair I walked in with, which was crazy after spending 4 hours in the chair. (Pictures included in the review) (first is before almost brighter second is after) As someone in the service industry, I still tipped slightly over 20% which made my service shy of 400. So, 4 hours and almost 400 dollars later, my hair looks the same! I’m only writing this review because I first reached out to the stylist giving her a chance to address my concerns but instead I felt sort of blamed? She was nice about it, but I felt she was undermining my concerns. I reached out to the stylist on Instagram, presenting the issue. She claimed it was as blonde as I could get without damaging my hair, which is fair. However, she didn’t address the fact that she gave me a ton of contrast with the highlights when I said I didn’t wanted that. It’s crazy that this happened to me, as I didn’t think my expectations were unrealistic. I actually showed this to another licensed stylist and she agreed that it wasn’t technically a balayage. Which was the service I booked. Do your research before booking. I will definitely be looking at a stylist’s body of work on Instagram before booking next time.

Amy Gambino I cannot say enough good things about this place and the people who work there. When I came in my long hair had gotten shamefully bad, very matted. I’ve had some depression issues lately. All the staff was non judgemental and my stylist gave me the cutest pixie cut. I feel like a completely new woman. I was intimidated going into a salon with hair in such poor condition but all the staff were caring and kind and so professional. I felt like the price was very reasonable for the amount of time the stylist spent with me. I left a good tip because of the outstanding service! When my hair grows out I will be coming right back! Other bonuses: the location is convenient to the bus line or there’s lots of parking. It’s nicely decorated with well cared for plant friends. Very clean salon. Online booking super convenient.

Collette Punch Jaklin did an excellent job braiding my daughters hair. Shes very friendly, and did her hair within reasonable time. I would highly recommend the beauty spa for braiding your hair. Nice atmosphere.

Spam S Ghosted? I originally came across jaklins instagram and i thought her work was pretty good. I reached out to her and eventually i told her the style i was looking for and we settled on 200. I asked her if she had availability THIS SATURDAY and she said yes. She told me that she would need a deposit and i complied. I originally looked up her first cash tag (beautbar2019) and it didn’t populate. So i quickly told her hey where is it. She then re sent another cash tag but this time it was beautybar2019. Again, this cashapp did not populate up. so at this point we (well actually it was just me) were trying to figure out how to get the deposit in. she told me i can come in person , to which she says she leaves the shop at five. I leave my job at five so obviously i couldn’t make it. I then had given her my cashapp and told her to request but she never did. she stopped responding to my texts even tho i kept asking her about the appointment. And it’s unfortunate because another braider was available on saturday but because i waited on jaklin for to long i can no longer get my hair braided at all this weekend. She is extremely unreliable and I was going to recommend my friends to her . But this sort of unreliability is unacceptable. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and it came to bite my butt and i should’ve went with a more reliable braider. I would only utilize this shop as a last resort and even then i wouldn’t put all your eggs in this basket. i texted her multiple times checking in and asking the status of the appointment and how to get the deposit but she ignored me and didn’t respond? i even tried calling and she declined my calls. Again i would not advise anyone to use this shop as a top choice because you may be in a tougher spot than you were before. i did everything in my power to reach out and send the deposit, so for her to ghost and go cold turkey like that i do NOT think she’s reliable in the slightest!

Journey Martinez Tried this place out because it was open on Sunday and close by, and I just moved here and dont know any better. Didnt realize how cheap it was. Asked to get my hair bleached. I already had platinum highlights, wanted to match that color, they said that was fine. But my hair is orange. I look like a clown. It took them several hours to do what I couldve done in half an hour at home. I was expecting to pay around $300 for something right. But they messed my hair up for only $80! What a steal. Am I going to accept this orange creamy dessert color? No because I have a job and cant show up to the office like this.

Jackie Rivera Very excellent work and the girls are very nice. I asked for a trim and not many little layers and they turned out exactly how I asked her to style it! Will be going back guaranteed. Appointments are highly recommended. Walk-ins are welcomed. Had to wait today but was happy with the outcome.

Baton Morina The haircut is really good and the staff is friendly. If you are a guy, the wait time is really long and sometimes they tell you to come in the next day because they are really busy. Not ideal for walk-ins. Make appointment before going.

binti abdul Took a while to get an appointment but I’ll probably never go anywhere else! Loved Lynne. She did such a good job cutting my hair, I got compliments and can’t stop admiring it. I have really thick curly hair, so I was surprised that someone could layer and cut it so perfectly. Very friendly, affordable, and calm atmosphere. Will go back!

Rose Park Tanesha is the best curly hair stylist I’ve ever patronized. She has so many good suggestions and is excellent at offering choices you’ll love. Her shampoo technique will relax you. You’ll leave feeling gorgeous.

Valerie D This was a overall great experience! I had to opportunity to have Tanesha work with me and help me figure out a color that would look great but also preserve my natural curls. She was wonderful! She was informative from beginning to end and she was just a great stylist overall. I was really happy with my results and I’m happy to say that I found a stylist that is very reliable ☺️☺️

tim shantler Ive been to many barbers over the years, but none have been as helpful—let alone as excited—as Sam and Kelsey at Mane Haus. They are both incredible artists who truly care about their customers, taking the time to understand not just what you want, but what will actually work best for you. Their passion and expertise make all the difference. If youre looking for a salon that goes beyond just a haircut and actually helps you get a handle on your hair, this is the place. Highly recommend!

Caitlin Kahabka I had recently gone through some hair loss due to losing weight and I was pretty embarrassed about the state of my hair. Rachelle was so kind and encouraging and didn’t make me feel ashamed about my hair loss. In fact, she pointed out a lot of regrowth and made me feel a lot better. She also cut my hair exactly how I wanted and envisioned it. I’m so grateful for the experience I had and will definitely be back!

Elizabeth Digati Alyssa does such a wonderful job on my hair. Ive seen her for full foil highlights and a cut several times now and my hair keeps getting healthier and healthier. I never truly know what I want and just blurt out random things - I also dont exactly take care of my hair as well as I should - yet she takes care of my needs every single time! Shes super helpful with products as well but not in a pushy way. I love the vibes in Local Honey - everyone is so nice and the atmosphere is great. This is the only salon in Buffalo that I feel comfortable in and trust.

Averi Wachowiak I’ve been getting my hair done by Emily for almost 5 years now and I wouldn’t go to anyone else – she’s stuck with me for life! She’s extremely talented and always knows exactly what I want, but is also very realistic with hair expectations as well. My hair has never been healthier and always looks incredible thanks to her! I always look forward to our appointments together because she’s so sweet and I love getting to talk with her! The salon is super cute as well, I always recommend it to everyone!

Meg Saint-Neri I’ve gotten my hair done by Maggie at least 4 times. She’s my go to hairdresser now! Maggie made my hair so beautiful! Which made me feel so beautiful! She was very professional & had great topics of conversation. I highly recommend booking with her!

McKyla Brooks Maggie is a one of a kind hair dresser! I came to her to get my hair back to my natural color and she matched it perfectly !!! Made me feel so sexy! She is so friendly and made me feel so comfortable in her chair!! Highly recommend! Also her blowouts are outstanding. I basically get a blowout every week now. Love her! Thank you Maggie!

Jodi Brown I have nothing but great things to say about Scenic Salon! Maggie has been cutting and coloring my hair for years, and I couldnt be happier. She always listens to what I want, and gives suggestions to what would look best. Maggie is very talented. I highly recommend Scenic Salon!

Claire McCarthy I saw Caroline for my first ever balayage/hair coloring experience and it was more than I could’ve ever asked for! I wanted something subtle for my first time and she did an amazing job. It was a super relaxing and stress free experience, and I even enjoyed a glass of wine during! Would recommend her 100% to anyone :)

Jennifer Symmonds I look forward to my time with Jordan every 7-8 weeks. Her salon is the epitome of casual chic; so warm and welcoming. You feel at home even before you sit down in a chair. I have never loved my hair more than these past almost 4 years. She puts you at ease, listens to what you want and in honest in what she thinks will look best. I adore her.

Christina Dunphy I saw Katie for the first time yesterday. I showed her some styles I liked and we discussed how often I style my hair (which is close to never since I work from home). She helped me achieve the look I wanted that worked with my lifestyle. I’ve liked haircuts in the past but I love what I walked out with yesterday. We discussed color goals too for a future appointment and she was so knowledgeable on taking care of color and ways to prep my hair before I come back. I’m so glad this salon was recommended to me.

Sania Holy I did several times hair straightening in Bangladesh and New York City. I stopped doing it for few years. My hair condition was worse. Rokhsana apu made it wonderful. I am really happy of her service. She has a kind and wonderful personality. I will be her regular customer definitely.

Sameya Shithi I Did my hair rebounding today from Rokhsana apu. She’s the best and the expert on her work for sure. My hair giving all the shine it needed she made it look really good. Recommend her 10/10. Visit her or make appointment with her to do your hair permanent straitening. She will give her best to make you happy with the result for sure.

R L James is really great. He’s talented and takes time to listen so that he understands what you want, but also gives great feedback in regards to the type of hair you have, the shape of your face, and what might suit you best. I’m so happy to have been referred to him. And the salon itself is relaxing and comfortable with great music. Highly recommended!

Kathryn Schiavitti When I tell you Shawn Smith is the best around I am NOT exaggerating! I am younger than 60 (GULP!) and Shawn has been cutting, highlighting and styling my hair for more than half my life. He is amazingly talented and charming to boot. The salon is upbeat and bright. He has the uncanny ability to know what style and/or color fits you and your lifestyle best without hesitation. Ive always said that "I only reserve the right to veto" because I trust him and his vision. Ive never been disappointed and Ive had an insane amount of hairstyles in the last 32 years..... short, long and everything in between. My hair, over the course of time, has decided to go from poker straight to natural curls.... Shawn is equally talented with both. If youre looking for the best stylist in WNY - LOOK NO FURTHER!!

Leah Moretta I have been going to Carly for years and she never disappoints! She listens to what I’m looking to do and is very open and honest as to what is achievable and her professional opinion. I always leave her chair with my hair looking better than ever. The salon is very clean and the staff is friendly. I don’t plan on going anywhere else anytime soon.

Jackie Cook Pretty disappointed that this salon cancelled my appointment at 7:30am on Saturday morning before they even opened, my appointment was for noon the same day. Didn’t even offer a different hair stylist. Now I have to find someone that will take a walk-in on a Saturday so I can get my hair cut before an important interview that upcoming Monday. I find it disrespectful to cancel an appointment prior to you even opening, providing we gave you our phone number to contact us. Feels very impersonal and gives the impression you are dodging conversation with future patrons. I specifically chose your salon out of many in Elmwood village, and I regret it now (hoping another salon in the same area will take me as a walk-in now). Maybe consider changing your method of cancellation or become more personal towards new patrons — it is not a good way to recruit and retain customers. Best of luck to your salon.

Joseph DiBiase First time at Karma and already know this is my new salon in the Buffalo area! The staff is both, kind and caring in their work and overall demeanor, and they do great work at a fair price. They also fit me in right away, just hours before I had to leave for a wedding, and gave me some product they were out of in a travel bottle for the flight. Thanks for taking care of me on such short notice and I will see you soon!
