Emily Lewis I had the BEST hair appointment of my LIFE at this salon. Bridget was so warm and welcoming. I told her want I wanted and she has been the only hairstylist to give me not only what I wanted but something even better. She took the time to talk over the style with me and what I needed to do to maintain it. As well as making sure I didn’t leave until I was completely satisfied. Plus she’s so great to talk to and gave me some great advice. I cannot say enough great things about my experience and the results. I can’t imagine going to anyone else for my hair.

Maggie May Were new to the area and I recently discovered Bridget at Byond. Shes done a great job with my color, highlights & cuts so far. Shes also fun to visit with & talk to!

kahnia page I had a disappointing experience with Kerryann Ashley. My appointment was scheduled for 2:45 PM, but when I arrived, she was still working on another client’s hair. She did not acknowledge me in a friendly manner or communicate how long I would need to wait. There was no consideration for my time, nor did she offer an alternative, such as rescheduling if she was running behind. Instead, she simply told me to sit down without any explanation. The lack of professionalism and customer service was disappointing, and I would not recommend her to anyone who values clear communication and respect for their time. -Kim

Samora Mayberry Professional stylist, clean and friendly atmosphere. My son and I have been going here for over a year and no matter the stylist our hair styles (locs and natural hair) are perfect! I highly recommend this Heaven on Earth!

Nicole Johnson Love Kerry-Anne!!! A good hairdresser knows what you need while youre still considering it. She cut me a bang while I was still deciding if I wanted one. I havent had bangs in over 20 years. I love them! My husband loves them and cant stop taking pictures of me. Her salon is nice, comfortable and inviting. Just like she is. Ive always had hair past my shoulders and have never maintained it myself. Half the time I dont even have shampoo in my house since I dont do my own hair. I have been to EVERYONE over the years.Kerry-Anne is tops. Anyone who says otherwise, think they took her advice. If you listen... she will always take care of you. I cant recommend her enough.❤️❤️❤️

Rhodina Lee Nina, the owner of Enve, is amazing. She gives every client her attention and is attentive to their needs. She suggests hair care products but is never pushy. She listens and tells the client what she recommends is best for their hair.

bbg nini Horrible! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They ruined my hair! There’s a burnt chemical smell left in my hair after several washes, they do not use heat protectant!!!! I’m completely natural and my hair was perfectly healthy before going here, my curls are completely ruined! They’re very aggressive , I know Spanish, little do they know and they were speaking negatively about all of their customers! Their business needs to be shut down, they are a disgrace to the Dominican/Black community.

Kati Weeks Had a horrible experience at this salon. I went in for a color, wash and set as I had a wedding to attend the next day. I have a high pain tolerance and didn’t seem to have an issue under the dryer. I also wear glasses that I don’t keep on while getting my hair done. The whole time my hair was being blown out I had no clue my forehead and scalp were red. Had my hair finished and wrapped, $160.00 later and went home. When I got home I saw my forehead was red and didn’t think much of it because I am light skinned and too much heat will leave a red mark but will be gone in the morning. When I woke up my forehead was blistered because I was burnt so badly and my scalp was beat red and painful to touch. I had to wash my hair out two days later because the back of my head itched so badly. When washing my hair out my hands were purple from the black dye that wasn’t properly washed out. Don’t waste your money here!

Jenn took the time to really listen to what I wanted, asked thoughtful questions about my hair routine and preferences, and offered expert suggestions without being pushy. The haircut itself was flawless—she’s clearly a pro. My hair feels healthier, looks incredible, and the shape suits my face perfectly. What really stood out was Jenn’s attention to detail and her genuine care about making sure I left happy. I also appreciated how she explained some tips for styling at home, which was super helpful. Elizabeth Katz Amanda Is a fantastic hairstylist along with being a warm, caring person. The salon has a very nice atmosphere and it’s relaxing to be there. Amanda also can cut curly hair, which is an art in itself. I’ve been seeing Amanda for years, and she always does a great job. And the products are all natural, no animal testing — that’s very important to me.

Jenny G I have been coming to Purity for five years now and am always so happy when I leave. Jen listens and does a fantastic job with color. I love the Aveda products, which leave my hair in better shape than when I came. Their online portal makes scheduling very easy. I drive almost an hour to come to the salon—it’s worth it!

Ive never been patient enough to take the time to care for my hair, but after six months to a year of visiting them, my hair looks incredibly healthy, long, and stunning! I really appreciate how she takes the time to explain hair care and how it specifically applies to my hair, providing clear reasons for why certain things are essential. The atmosphere is fantastic; I feel so pampered in the setting, and the music selection is always on point. Its a truly relaxing yet fun experience. Theres no other place like it in the Capital Region!

Joanne Cheek Absolutely the best place in the Capitol Region for Natural Black Hair care. Im an Autoimmune patient and with the support of proper medical treatment, Nicole took my hair from less than chin length to wait you see in my profile picture. Patient kind and very knowledgeable. Plus she has a beautiful new space. Cant go wrong!!

Makanaakua Champeau I got my haircut by Amanda and I absolutely loved it! She made recommendations for me based on my hair and it turned out amazing. I’m glad I chose to get my haircut here and will definitely be returning :)

Christina Patanian This place is a joke, Aubrey the manager of the Albany location took 20 minutes to do my eyelashes and charged me 165 dollars, the next day they were already grown out and was falling sideways. It looked like individual clusters and no isolation. Her birthday was the day after and her phone was blowing up and rushed through my service. This place is a joke and she would not refund my money even after I got the owner involved. (These photos are from the day after fyi)

Kayla Fraser I went to the Albany location. Very welcoming and friendly staff. However I will not be coming back for makeup services. They did not provide what would be considered a professional makeup application. They had very limited makeup (no concealer,, only one blush, no setting spray, limited lip color shades & etc ). I paid $100 plus tip for a service that was not professional. I had to redo my face when I left. The artist was very nice and tried her best with the limited products that the salon had in stock. They should not say they provide makeup services. Save your money & go somewhere else for makeup.

Shiva Heidari I got my highlights and haircut done by Hunter, and I couldn’t be happier with the result! This was my first time getting highlights, and Hunter was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive throughout the whole process. Before he even started, he took the time to talk through all the details and made sure he fully understood what I wanted. He explained each step clearly, which made me feel comfortable and confident the entire time. The final look is even better than I imagined—natural, soft, and beautifully blended. I’ve added some photos to show off his amazing work. Hunter is truly an artist, and I’m so glad I found him. Highly recommend!

K K I have been a client of Gerilynn’s for 25+ years and have always been very happy with my results. She is very professional, highly skilled, and is always up to date on the latest styles and techniques.

Nikki Masterson Hair bleach was left in my hair underneath. Never properly washed out and as she started to blow dry it with a brush it was just breaking off all underneath. She said this had foils in it first. I’m lucky after coming in twice after the wrong color was used turning my hair to apricot, that i even had any hair left after stripping it done to blonde! Hair is brittle and still cracking off. Top of hair barely got any blond foils in and i wanted it all the same color. I already booked with a real salon and hair dresser to fix this mess and my roots. I should be demanding for my $500 back! My poor hair. I have health conditions so it doesn’t grow fast as normal. Never again will i trust!

D Graham I travel 2 hours up to Albany just to have Gabby do my hair. I think she’s been doing my hair for 8 years now. She’s amazing! I’m really picky when it comes to my curly hair and how it is handled. Gabby never disappoints. She is very talented, especially with color. I would recommend her to anyone!

Guilderlandguy I have had my hair cut by John for many years. He is great as is Marie and the rest of the staff here. Everyone is friendly and it seems like they are sweeping the floor non-stop. Unfortunately John is cutting back (pun intended) and I will probably remain here when (if) he retires.

phyllis fusco I’ve been following my hairdresser wherever she goes so she is now working at Avante hair studio. It looks smaller than what it is cause it goes straight back and there is a lot there that they offer check it out oh, and my hairdresser name is Monica.

Crymson Meadow is awesome. She knew exactly what I was looking for. She put light layers in my hair to bring up the curls. Im in the process of growing out a pixie cut and it has been close to a year since my last haircut. She is very sweet, and she even framed the curls on my sides it looks and feels amazing. Will definitely be coming back.

Mallory Jennings I could not recommend Metamorphose Salon more!! The building is extremely clean and decorated beautifully. All of the staff are extremely friendly. I had an anti-aging facial with Bridget and my skin felt amazing after. Bridget was very kind and knowledgeable. She explained all of the products she was using and gave me recommendations to keep up my skincare at home. I am getting married next year and will be back for other services before then! 10/10 absolutely love this place!

William Phelps Excellent service. Amazing stylists. Convenient location. They offer a great Men’s cut and color service. They listen to what you want but also offer advice on how to best cut,style, color, or grow your hair. I’ve been for shorter cuts as well as for scissor cuts and trims. All around great. Very welcome and personable staff. Courteous clean and safe too!

Mary Fox I had the great fortune of moving near this salon and made an appointment for some grey blending with foils recently. After explaining what I was interested in to Dorinda she set about performing her magic and the finished product was even more than I had hoped for. From the comfortable homey shop, to the on time service, and perfect outcome I am more than happy. Five stars isnt enough.
