The Best 11 Hair Salon in Carmel, NY (part 2)

Sandi Saupe This is my 4th visit to Chic Nail and Spa Salon located next door to Shop Rite on Rt 52 in Carmel, NY. In the past at other salons in Carmel and other states Ive used have never provided me with a good experience having my nails done but this salon is an exception. Not only have my nails been done to perfection each time the gel has held up for more than 2 weeks which has not been the norm at other salons. The staff is extremely nice, very helpful and do a great job. The salon is spotless. I highly recommend this place and will keep coming back. A bonus: being next to Shop Rite means I can do my shopping after getting my nails done without having to make two stops!

Shelley Franklin AMAZING new nail salon in Carmel Hamlet right next to ShopRite! Steven and Kevin have excellent firm massage hands, and Mona did an exceptional job on our powder manis. Highly recommend and may be my new go to place!

Kayla Medina First visit here and very impressed! Mona did a great job with my UV gel. The set was done in a reasonable amount of time but didn’t feel rushed—she took her time to make sure the length/shapes were the same on each nail. The salon was very clean and bright on the inside. Will definitely be back!

Samantha Hassan I went here twice for eyebrow waxing, the first time wasn’t great but I decided to give them another chance. They completely butchered my eyebrows, un even and left them nearly bald in the corners. She also had me walk out with all the hair she cut off covering my cheeks. In addition to the horrible look of them, the woman was rough the entire time leaving my skin irritated. Have never felt compelled to leave a review but as warning to others, do not go here.

Victoria Ramtahal Best nail salon so far for me personally. Went to Mona and she took her time and did an awesome job with my nails. Definitely going back!

Glenn Polin Local hair place undergoing renovation. People are friendly. Prices seem fair and havent gone up since I can remember. Tina cuts my hair and is fun and makes great conversation.

Jennifer Grace Diane, the owner of 29 years did an amazing job of making my son, daughter, and I feel comfortable in her establishment. She was kind, professional, courteous, and gave our son an amazing haircut! I highly recommend this salon.

Marina Wasserberg I stop by because the lady that do my hear colored was at place on the 6 of June I walk in this place and for I found she is owner she told me that she was charging me $90:00,I agree feu minutes to finish she told me that was $199:00 and I cuestión her saying lady you told me $99:00 and I agree and told her again I only have &92;00 she started brushing more color in the back on my back but wend I home she didn’t put wherever she was doing she put all that in my long sleeve top and she screwed up my clothes everything I perches it’s all at Macy’s it cost me $42:99. I’m going to complain about this woman because she is not an one’s person she it’s scamming her customers and I’m not going to aloud her to keep doing this she was expecting for me to be intimidated the person that May intimidated me have not been born yet this is my story and my MARINA the lady that everyone knows her in town by being a nice person,all of you do what you supposed to do defend yourself I LOVE ❤️my Town !!

Trish Hughes-Manzo I telephoned a couple of weeks ago (approx June 10, 2020) to make an appointment with a trusted hairdresser at this shop- and still think she is a wonderful hairdresser. While on the phone with the owner I asked if there would be an increase - I was told it would be $60.00- ouch, a wee bit much for a simply wash, trim, style blow dry, but, I digress and it is the changing times after all. well, after my cut (which is fabulous) I went to pay at the register and the owner (not using her name) told me it was $85.00 - I was perplexed and thought, hmm, she had to have said $65.00, NOT $85.00 and with the blow dryers and chatter along with the plastic shield (due to COVID) I really thought I misheard - guess what??? she handed my Chase card back with the receipt and said I neednt sign, and totally ran off as if she realized by the look on my face that I was dismayed.... SHE CHARGED ME $85.00 - I did not say anything at this moment, and for this I take responsibility... Then my hairdresser was looking for time in the scheduling book to prepare my hair for my sons upcoming wedding. Being that I was still in SHOCK holding an $85.00 dollar receipt I questioned the pricing.. IT IS $175.00 - $200.00 for a hair arrangement style.. YIKES, YIKES, yes, you read it correct... $175.00 - $200.00. I went outside (still with fabulous new hair cut :-) )) ... to wait on a friend I recommend meet with my hairdresser and make an appointment - when my friend arrived she noticed blue or black inky dye on the back of my white summer sweater... Apparently, the owner of Salon 782 purchased some type of disposal bio degradable dressing gowns to wear while getting your hair cut... and, not ONLY did it begin to disintegrate while my hair was being cut (it was like crepe type paper over a thin layer plastic garb) this dye substance destroyed the back of white summer sweater (picture to be attached).. AND, when I went back into the shop to ask if they knew this dye would be able to be washed out? To my surprise, because the owner had been congenial (HA, NOT) up to this point, the owner told me to go home and wash it out- and you may not be surprised to read this, she told me not to come back to her shop.. Insult to injury in that she thought I would return to a shop that for all intents and purposes may have well have stolen my money. SHE, the owner had the professional opportunity to say to me as I entered the shop "I realize I told you over the phone it was now $60.00 for the hair cut, but, now that you are here and your hair is very long it will now be $85.00 - this is the wiser, professional behavior, this would have allowed me to make an INFORMED DECISION as to whether or not I wanted to or EVEN could meet this financial decision with my money- instead, she chose to not inform me about the financial increase, and STEAL an additional $25.00 dollars from my person, without my permission and DESTROY my white summer sweater with whatever substance the dressing gowns she purchased are made of... I know I have the ability to call Chase and dispute the charge, after all, at no time, no conversation commenced for the payment to go up from $60.00 (WHICH THIS PRICE, ALONG WITH A NOTE OF APOLOGY TO CUSTOMERS FOR THE SLIGHT INCREASE RATE ARE POSTED IN HER SHOP.. ))))) TO $85.00 - without my knowledge or consent... she told me not to ever come or call her shop- which I had no intention of ever returning to spend my earned salary there anyway. Hmm - the situation now IS this - if the dye that has destroyed my sweater is not able to be removed with a wash- then, pray then- what shall I do....???

judith tota Mary has potential as a stylist but she doesn’t listen to her customers! After discussing my wishes with her several times, she went ahead and cut my hair super-short, doing the opposite of what I wanted. My hair now looks like a disaster! It’s going to take several months to get it looking decent again. Every time I look in the mirror, I’m reminded of my terrible experience at Nowhair!

Pete Panaro Now Hair are professional, friendly and great hair stylists. My wife and I use Now Hair exclusively. Also have brought our grandchildren at times when we can. My compliments to Mary and Sarah Jane

Ken William Sr I have been getting my hair cut here at Matriks since the day Daniella opened up for business. She is very professional, polite and well versed in many topics for discussion. She is the only one who cuts my hair .Thank you for always doing a fantastic job ..

Bill Tobin I have been using Matriks for over 5 years now. Danielle is the Owner and the one that cuts my hair. She and her staff are friendly and very professional. She runs a very clean shop and will listen to you want done. I definitely would recommend anyone that needs a great cut. Men and women they do everything.

Teryn E I made an appointment for my son today. I went in and was told there is no barber. The man/owner lied to me because he is the barber. They lose money and I won’t be back. My son is African American with very soft curly hair. Good riddance for sure.

Nick M I’ve been coming here for about 15 years and have had great service as well as a great haircut every time. For a while, I bounced around from various barbers and salons but was never really happy with any haircut I got. A friend suggested I go to Italia Barber in Carmel so I did and I haven’t gone anywhere else since! I have my regular person I go to, but I’ve had my hair cut by almost everyone there and always left happy.

Theresa Maglio They did a fantastic job! I got taken right away. They were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Pricing was great and my hair came out amazing. 10 minutes after leaving I got 4 compliments 2 from complete strangers. Definitely go back there!

robert moore I’ve reached the age when I’ve lost a lot of hair .I go to Don most of the time , but have also used the expertise of others. Each time I am made to feel as if I have a full head of hair. They cut and blend the hair and make it look nice and full. There is very little wait time. These are the best barbers in Putnam Co!

Michael Best shop in the county for an excellent cut and experience, been getting my haircuts there for 50+ yrs and now my son gets his hair cut there . After the changing of ownership the professionalism never changed “hates off too the new owners and all involved”. Amanda Jaeschke The only place i go to for my pedicures! The silky spa pedicure is everything you need, including massage and it’s always perfect! I moved out of Carmel and i still come back over just to come here every time!

Gianna My first time coming to this salon, but certainly not my last! I came in with a picture inspo of highlights, layers and curtain bangs, and Jen absolutely brought it to life! She’s such a talented and knowledgeable stylist. The salon is so cute and modern. All of the girls were so sweet, really making you feel comfortable. Marilyn Albanese Love this salon! Ive gotten a haircut twice with Nat that came out great. I showed her a photo of the look I was going for and she did a great job with it! I also get lash lifts with Giovanna and they turn out perfect every time! The salon is always clean and inviting. I highly recommend!

Madi Paige This is my 3rd time coming to this salon and I always leave loving my hair and get millions of compliments thanks to Elaine! All the girls in there are super friendly, very warm and welcoming. I was struggling for the past couple of years trying to find the right stylist to call “my girl” and I officially do now that I got Elaine!❤️ I highly recommend this salon if you want to leave loving your hair, get a lot of compliments, feel welcomed and comfortable, but mostly feeling beautiful! Can’t wait for my next visit, I’m already counting down the days..even though it’s 3 months from now lol.

Jenna Rose Before finding this salon, I went to a different hairstylist and asked to dye my hair from dark brown to a blonde that would suit me and it came out almost yellow. I immediately looked up hairstylists near me and made an appointment with La Petite after seeing the wonderful reviews they have been getting, and I can see why! Jessi corrected my color and I have been going to her ever since! Every time I leave the salon, its amazing how many compliments I get on my hair. All the girls that work here are kind, professional, and welcoming. I really dont get some of the negative comments on here because my experience with them and their services has been wonderful :)

Capt Chris I had to find a new barber as my previous 2 past of old age and a friend highly recommended these guys and I can see why. 2 different barbers cut my hair and did it quickly and really well I went there nervous and uncomfortable and left incredibly happy!

thom reede The BEST barber shop in Putnam county. Very rarely is the wait long. Not sure what these fake 1 star reviews are about but the service is always great here, no one gets ignored, no fat greaseballs (nice) who do not cut kids hair. Just, fast, friendly, clean, professional, CLEAN.... did I say clean?... service. Thank you, Bruno and the rest of the crew!

Laura Collins I used to go to coco nails but stopped because the prices went up so much. I tried 52 ten nails because it was close to where I live and I love it. I have now been there five times and every time my experience has been wonderful. The owner and the nail techs are so kind and they do a great job. I have found my new forever nail place. !!

Ace Nice staff, very clean, great color options. A little expensive. Pedicure polished one visit wasn’t the best. Too bad I get home from work most days so late otherwise I would continue going to this location. Bonus card when you go a certain amount of times you get money off a service. Gift certificates available, men know this because they were lining up to pick up Mother’s Day gifts lol.

La La R Love this place! After trying 4 diff places, I found my nail home. They only take appointments but are very accommodating. Very clean and nice social distancing if that’s important to you. Take their time and have lots of options.

Jaime Worthington Awful experience. To sum it up without becoming too lengthy and detailed....... I came in for an all-over hair color and ended up walking out with 3 different colors on three different parts of my head. I barely even had a decision in the color that was chosen for me and the two stylists spoke in a different language in front of me when discussing my hair. I also got a haircut, she asked me if I wanted layers and I said no because I was growing it out, yet again she did what she wanted and cut it in layers which look awful for my hair type. When I called a couple days later to see if I can come in and get it fixed, she said no sorry because I used a discount to pay for my services. Now I have to come up with money to go to another salon to get my hair fixed.
