Kathy Windey I just want to say Kathy’s barbershop is wonderful. My husband goes there all the time she does such a great job. Actually I asked her how she cuts women’s hair she does. She’s a barber and a hairstyles all in one so I go get my haircut there. She does a wonderful job. I can come home and fits it the way I want to, it seems every time I go get my hair done at a salon. I’m not happy with Kathy at least eight years wonderful person and she knows what she’s doing.

Jeff Bray When we moved into Lowville, my son and I didnt know where to go for a hair cut. We tried a salon, but that was a mistake. I had a feeling when we walked in that we would regret that. No fault of the salon, but we wanted buzz cuts, not hair shampooing and all that nonsense. After seeing Kathys barber shop we decided we had nothing to loose and gave Kathy a shot. That was one of the best decisions we could have made. Kathy is amazing. My son loves going to her. If its not convenient to go to Kathys and my son needs a hair cut, he gets mad because he knows it wont be Kathy cutting his hair. Long story short, go to Kathys Barber Shop. You wont be disappointed at all.

John Domagala Kathy always has a smile and a cheery hello. Is easy to talk with and remembers details about what is going on with your life. The shop is always clean and Kathy takes great pride in her work.

Dan Wolfe Great place, always greeted with a friendly smile. I see Renee and she always does a fantastic job.

Miranda Gronzo My first time I had a deep tissue massage and facial combo with Amanda & she will forever be my go to! I went back and also had a mother to be massage at another time & it was incredible as well! The services, her compassion & kindness was by far the best I’ve ever experienced anywhere! You can tell that she loves what she does, she is very knowledgeable & makes you feel like a new person. Hands down highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed!

Christina Engelman Renee kills it her ability to look at a picture and make it happen but not to much bc I dont like change. And she can cut a straight line. Her blends on layers fade perfectly. Love it.

Thanh Spitale Great service. For a small shop, she does her best here to take care of everyone. Just moved here and have been using the same salon for over 10 yrs, and it was very weary of new places, but I think I found my new spot!

Dan Wolfe Quiet shop locally owned. Renee is friendly and always does a great job on my hair. Her prices are very good as well. Well worth the visit.

Evie Bellinger I come up to the ADK every summer. I decided to take a risk and try a random hair dresser while in Lowville for the day and I gotta say (no exaggeration) I got the best haircut of my life. He wasn’t kidding when he said he could cut any type of hair (mine is wavy/curly/thick-ish and was woefully uneven and had weird chunky layers when I showed up). I love the cozy, “my clients are like family”, small-town vibes of Tom’s shop. I will be back every year so long as he’s still working his magic. Thank you, Tom!

Tricia Kennison The business is handicap accessible. The salon is clean. The hair cut from Tom is superb.

Sherri Suhr Tom cares about what he dose. His passion shows through his work. I have fine hair and a lot of salons cut it wrong. He was able to give recommendations and with out pushing his own agenda on you like many salons do. He only takes cash. I wish I would have new that information before going. However he is worth the extra hassle of pulling cash if you normally don’t carry cash on you. Also the first salon who called me back with out having to leave a voicemail and call a million times. I already have another appointment booked.

Kelley Sussman No customer service at all , we arrived early for our haircut appointments me and my 85 year old Mom who is in a wheelchair, there was only one stylist working she looked up for the person she was working on and never said a word just went back to cutting her hair , we stood in the waiting area and 2 other worker came in walked right past us got hair dye from the back look right at us said nothing and left the salon then the hairwasher walked past us on her cell phone and she said nothing the stylist only acknowledge us after she walked past us to answer the phone and all she said was DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT I told her yes 1pm & 1:30pm ( it was 1:10 when she asked) I will be right with you she then finished the womans hair and I thought okay just a little late but no she then took the woman into a different room to wax her eyebrows it was now 1:20 pm that is when me and my mom left,we will NEVER go here ever again. I would give no stars if I could.

Staff are always friendly and accomodating, which I find a major plus due to difficulty speaking to and relating to others. They do not take card, which is a significant downside. Otherwise one of the best places for grooming around. Make sure to make reservations, I am not sure if walk-ins are always accomodated.

Crystal LaVancha I have seen Cathy since I was 8 years old. When I moved to Massachusetts, I would come home just to have my hair done. Now, my three children see Cathy (16, 12 and 5 years old). She is fantastic and the rest of the staff is super friendly as well!!

Angela Doyle Laurie is an absolute peach, she has professional technique, and takes her time, she gives excellent advice and cares about her clients, the atmosphere is cozy and warm, I dont trust anyone but her with my hair. I drive from 30 miles away just to have her do my hair.
