1 /5 Brittany Dickerson: Today was my first time going back to church after the birth of my 5month old and I had a horrible experience to the point I left during the middle of the service. The church itself feels disingenuous, choreographed, and hypocritical. I came the day after the attempted assassination of trump…. Firstly, When I arrived at the church I felt confused on where service took place and had to ask information desk on where to go. Once they directed me, I walked towards the opening of the service door and asked one of the ushers can I sit in an end seat since my newborn was in his stroller and I can easily reach him if he were to cry , the usher told me that I can sit down in the back row, at the bottom so I did. Almost immediately after sitting down another usher came up to me and told me I couldn’t sit there because the seat was reserved for ushers and I told her “okay, where can I sit at that’s at the end so that I can still be next to my child” and she told me she will tell me after the announcements was over. However she never came back down and I kept getting several stares from people as if I was doing something wrong. And the person next to me asked me what the Usher told me ( however I feel she only asked to be messy). That’s when I started feeling extremely uncomfortable and eventually got up to find an end seat upstairs by myself since the woman usher never came back…when I got to the elevator that’s when I seen the woman usher again and she said “ I was just coming to look for you, but got busy. Let me show you your new seat.” So as I was walking with her she was telling me that they don’t let people come in with strollers because it can cause a fire hazard but for people who are in wheelchairs or who bring strollers anyways have to turn it in to them and they give it back at the end of service…. Once she showed me my seat it was a seat that had a very obstructed view of the podium and the pastor preaching. I eventually left mid service because of how I was treated. The church itself feels huge for nothing. 1 the people working for the lord doesn’t properly welcome new comers on where they can sit or where service is located or how to give ( I didn’t know I had to return the envelope back to the Usher that gave it to me). And also, I didn’t like how everyone was in uniform including the worship team. The lord says “come as you are” but it felt very selective and choreographed. I’m not coming back & will be looking for another church. I came to here to hear the word and give my tithes & offering. And I couldn’t do that there.
