1 /5 Delores Johnson: Very lovely church building! The greeting was very rude and not welcoming. Being that we are trying to promote a mobile detail business and saw church service going on we decided to put flyers on the vehicles. There was an usher who came out and commented people don’t like others around there vehicle not knowing what they are doing. It was clear we are a family with flyers in our hands and that person could clearly see the flyers on the vehicles. No disrespect to anyone or their property we were asked to leave without asking any questions about what we were trying to do or what we were doing there and would not give a chance to explain what we were doing. We were then followed to our vehicle and he stood there to make sure we completely drove off. Once down the road we decided to turn around to get the flyers off the vehicles we put and to no surprise they were all taking off. We drove around to the doors of the church where we were met by that same guy. We asked for the flyers back and still no questions asked about what we were doing. He did extend an unwelcoming invite to church service as he walked off. We have never felt so unwelcoming especially when it comes to church in our hometown no matter what religion. We as a family believe in the God almighty but did not feel a friendly spiritual presence. We as a family will continue to pray for everyone! This post is not any reflection on the church or it’s congregation but, solely on the man that we dealt with. His presence was not of a spiritual presence but more so came off as racist. Yes, we are of color and when it comes to any church the spirit should be welcoming, loving, and comforting. Based on just the man we dealt with i dont think we will go back to be a part of the church being that we are looking for a church home. We are just moving back to the lake city after being displaced from Laura and Delta as that was the first church that we were interested in going. By all means if God continues to move on our behalf and direct us there we will keep a loving heart and open mind. For God sent not his Son to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17
