James Walker I know things have gone contemporary and most all Christian churches. I attended the 9:00 a.m. hoping that there might be some smidgen of traditional worship. I was only there a few minutes, but it didnt look like there would be much. I was just here. A beautiful church with a warm welcome. The speakers and sound system literally made me leave. SO LOUD. Their entire speaker system sits on the floor and was turned up loud. They had a sound system meant for a larger, much larger environment. Hurt my ears. I looked for a seat that might be away from the towering sound system. There were none. As you walked into the foyer, there was a table set up filled with full communion cups and a sign saying pick up your communion here. I didnt, because there were no further instructions. It was also more than I could take to see pastries, coffee, refreshments in one hand and Communion cups in the other. One worshipper actually had to sit is communion cup with juice in it on the floor while adjusting his other refreshments. Fortunately, it isnt too late to find another place to worship this morning. Im a retired Air Force chaplain and Ive attended many worship services in many styles.... Contemporary, traditional, Catholic and all other denominations. I think this is really the first Worship service, because of the lead singers/musician microphone being so loud and and ear piercing.... I was unable to stay. Granted, this church has taken a casual approach to worship to new heights with a combination of refreshments/coffee, pastries, and communion in one combined approach. Im sure the loyal following, would have difficulty seeing this through a visitors eyes.
