1 /5 Kari Hoff: I would discourage employing the services of this business after having a particularly harrowing and expensive experience after they replaced the tie rod ends on my vehicle.
Unbeknownst to me, RP did not do an alignment, as is protocol, following the replacement of the tie rod ends. Just 20 days later I found this out, while on a road trip, when both of my new (less than 30 days old, see photos) front tires failed while driving on the highway at 65 mph. A reputable mechanic in the area where my car broke down had to replace both front tires, which were destroyed from negligent mechanical work (done by RP) when tie rod ends were replaced (additionally the new tires had be mounted, balanced and aligned). As I was some 400 miles from home when this happened, I had no choice but to have the work done on the spot. Thankfully, the mechanic that did the emergency work was thorough and I was provided with before and after toe measurements for the front tires that were destroyed as a result of the improperly installed tie rod ends. Measurements indicated that no alignment was done and that the jam nuts were not touched. The mechanic that provided the measurements said, even without proper equipment, eyeballing the alignment would have provided better results.
Upon returning, I visited RP, bringing the destroyed front tires as well as a copy of the before and after toe measurements, and a statement from the mechanic that provided the repair services. I felt it was fair to ask that RP refund the labor amount for the replaced tie rod ends (I did not ask him to refund the cost of the parts as they remained on the car) and the cost of the new tires I had to purchase (not the entire cost of the mounting and alignment). He was dismissive and evasive about his responsibility. When I asked him what he thought was a fair resolution to the matter, he walked away.
Be aware that this business does not stand by their work and also operates on a cash-only basis (they say they take credit cards, but when it came time to pay for the original work, I was told they only take cash).
I am thankful that myself and my companion were not injured when the tires failed, however I was left with cost of destroyed front tires and emergency mechanic work. I hope this review prevents someone else from similar danger and financial loss.
