GF Auto Repair - Wheaton (IL)

Timothy Noetzel I have been taking my vehicles to J&C for well over 30 years. I have always been given a fair price and the workmanship is excellent, from very small to considerably large jobs (like a snapped drive shaft on a van). They also are great at solving those quirky issues that other shops give you a "deer in the headlights" look to fix. My most recent issue was diagnosed correctly (bad wheel bearing) when original repair shop and dealership both missed it. With repairs, you get what you pay for. But with J &C you get something more than you paid for.....reliability.

Squared Nair Well let me start by saying when you have a 1949 Classic car it’s very hard to find people to work on it. But rest assured Stan and his professional and experienced team at the AAMCO had me covered. After a thorough evaluation and understanding and explanation to me they were able to handle my repair and get my classic baby back to me. Stan and his team are very friendly and very transparent on the cost and time of repairs. They come highly recommended.

Oleksandr But Byron and the guys at Valvoline did an awesome job changing the oil on my BMW 530i. Super quick, super easy, and no pressure for any extra services, which I really appreciated. Everyone was really friendly and positive, and there was no line when I showed up in the morning—huge plus. Thanks again, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Sara Karsten We can’t recommend Frank’s enough! They have been honest, reliable, and have gone above and beyond to help us when we’ve really needed it. We’ve had a few times we’ve needed to stop in without an appointment and Keith has always been willing to take a look at what’s going on. Yesterday we came in for a strange noise - but we needed the car today. Even though they had a packed day in the shop, he not only figured out what was going on but he tracked down a difficult part, got me back to my house with my four little kids, and stayed past closing to get our car repaired. Our first experience with them was getting a second opinion on a very expensive repair quoted elsewhere - they found the root of the problem (simply a loose screw!) and didn’t even charge us. We have found them to be so helpful and dependable! They are hands down the best auto shop we’ve used. (As a side perk, their waiting room is very clean and comfortable!)

Fraser Smith This is the only place I take our cars. For 18 years they’ve done great work for me - honest - on the level about estimate and good work. A couple of times I’ve gone elsewhere due to a coupon or just convenience and paid more that I would have or taken the estimate to them at 3D and they gave me a better arrangement. Even on busy days with the phone ringing and people trying to get price guarantees without even having their car inspected yet - the guys at 3D are always professional and explain what’s going on and are nice to deal with.

Agatha Curylo This place is the best to go if you have any car issues. I request Chris to check up my 213 Honda. He informed me of the problems before start to fix them. I was very satisfied with their service and definitely recommend this location. Thank you very much Chris.

Jake McLain I have taken my VW Golf R, Audi SQ5, and BMW M3 to Gearhead, all for both complicated and routine work. They consistently complete jobs very quickly and I have never had to bring a car back after they did the work. When diagnosing issues, they are thorough and honest. Their prices are very fair and their staff has always been friendly with great communication. Highly recommended shop.

Pat B Our garage door didnt go all the way up when we had a recent polar vortex. As a result, I knocked off the dolphin cover over the antenna when backing out of our garage. We brought my Lexus to Mike. He was very professional and gave us a written estimate. After the part we ordered came in, we called him to make an appointment. The car was ready in one day! (They even "tested" the new cover to make sure the seal was solid by power washing the roof to make sure there were no leaks.) I also had two scratches on the bumper. We asked for an estimate on the scratches, deciding to get them repaired, as well. The car was ready the next day. They even washed my car for us! Reasonable prices. Solid attention to detail. Polite and professional staff. Highly recommend!

Barbara Schweihs I love this place! JJ has always taken good care of me and my Hyundai Sonata. He goes above and beyond and I 100% trust any work done by them. I was disappointec they no longer offer the veterans discount as both my husband and I are vets and we like to use companies that support veterans. However I still recommend this place as a quality car care company you can trust

He was even able to help me prioritize which repairs were "urgent" and which were less so. Highly recommend for your daily tune-ups and diagnostics!
