3 /5 Cynthia Green: There has only been two churches that Ive had a strong impact to; one was a really bad one and the other was a really good one.
For starters, Evergreen is in what I feel is a very serene place. Once in a while when things are bothering me, or having a hard time, I take a walk through the woods to what I assume is a prayer garden. Mind you, Im not a religious person. I just love how theyre in the middle of the woods; peaceful and quiet.
Another thing I liked was the songs seemed to be emotional. I dont k ow, they just seemed to get to me and to me, it helped they put the songs on the wall instead of trying to follow in the hymnal; I always had an issue following in the hymnal.
I loved the band "Surrender", they would sing a song Ive heard many times, but something about when they sang it, made me emotional.
The last thing I used to love about the church, was their preacher and its no where as food without him; Claude Howell. To the beat preacher I have ever met and heard. He was passionate and inspiring. I loves how he was up moving around, making you stay awake instead of standing reading from the BIBLE making you fall asleep. He was real. He didnt stand up there and made it seem like he never made mistakes, he admitted his faults in front of everyone, this is what I find to be a great preacher. The odd thing about him was, is that every time I went, it seemed as if he was preaching something to do with me and/or a loved one. Wherever Claude Howell may be preaching, they sure are lucky to have him. Also, he was very easy and comfortable to talk to.
