2 /5 Sydney Vogt: As a young widow with five children I know how important it is to feel welcomed and supported especially in an environment such as church. I took my five children here, alone, seeking a church close to our new home and felt like I was being kicked out the door! It was our first time so my two younger children were hesitant. We were given zero patience and about half way through singing my number was called for one, I attempted to bring them into the silent nursing room but it wasn’t 10 more minutes and another number was called. As a prior nursery school teacher I would do everything in my power to avoid pulling a mother from a church service especially knowing this was their first visit. Before the service even began I was leaving with 5 children in tow. I’ve never had an experience like this at a church. We did not feel welcomed in a house of God.
