1 /5 Cherrelle Swain: I briefly wrestled in writing this review, but just as I went to the reviews to determine if visiting St. Theresa’s Catholic Church would be worthwhile, it is essentially important for prospective visitors to have knowledge of the unpleasant experiences, just as much as the pleasant ones. I was a member of the congregation during my adolescent years, but have been absent from the church for a number of years; I am now 34 years old. I decided to visit St. Theresa’s with my husband, in hopes of a memorable visit; this was far from that: 1) The parishioners at both sets of doors, were quite unfriendly; we expressed sentiments of good morning, and were ignored. 2) We went up to accept communion, and my husband was going to take the host at his pew, only to be scolded by a “white, older woman, short blonde hair, and red lips” who emphasized, “No! You must take it now!” my husband, who is non-denominational, but was forewarned of the traditions of catholic service, was taken aback by her demeanor and tone. She then says, “You take it now, or give it back to me!” This exchange is unfolding before the entire church. He gives it back to her, and walks away. Towards the end of service, the priest ask if there were visitors, we refrained from standing, because it would be our last visit. When we were exiting, a fellow member of the church came up to us, and expressed sincere apologies for their conduct; though they were not involved, but rather were behind my husband and witnessed the incident. They expressed there have been many of people who have taken the host back at their pews; why this was an issue is beyond their comprehension. I describe the woman in detail, in hopes this review reaches the person who monitors their online presence, the woman who desperately needs a serious attitude adjustment, and revisit the foundation entrusted to their community members.
If there is a matter of confusion your organization is met with, it should be treated with tact; not annoyance and disrespect.
